I've just been playing Stompy, after a long time on BW Processors. I like it, but I have a few reservations which would seem like they might apply to the Tron build too.
The deck is powerful but inconsistent. It can stall on lands pretty badly on occasion, and it has inherent card disadvantage in SSG and in Gemstone Caverns which is only partly set off by Eternal Scourge. Drawing Serum Powder, SSG, Caverns, or even Chalice in the mid- or late-game can be pretty bad news. But Smasher, Endless One, and even Seer are all great mid to late topdecks. It's easy for Scourge to get stuck in the graveyard, though Relic in the side helps. Chalice obviously acts as a game ender a high percentage of the time, which is a big deal for this deck. Sea Gate Wreckage does a good job increasing number of cards seen during a game, but basically sometimes this deck draws the half of its cards that are enablers instead of threats and it just bogs down in a big pile of nothing.
Running the Tron lands is key to this deck. They HAVE to be there. Board wipe in the form of Oblivion Stone/Perilous Vault or All is Dust is important as well. It should be somewhere in the 75 even with 25 creatures. The ability to finish with an Eldrazi Titan is critical as well. At least one should be present. As purklefluff says Protomatter Powder is too cute and a trap. There is a reason your list is bogging down. You don't have any way to finish things off with an Ulamog or Emrakul off a Conduit or Ruin or Sanctum of Ugin. If you'd like some suggestions to revamp your list we'd be glad to give some advice. Good luck.
Interesting take. Thanks for sharing. Any way to get in a way/card for BC to have Haste? My only hesitancy is what happens if you only have 30 or less life on turn 4 and you cast Madcap and don't hit Blightsteel Colossus 25 to 30 cards down and you end up killing yourself without a Burrenton Forge Tender on the field? Seems too risky. Maybe 4x Intervention Pact so you have a total of 8 copies of damage prevention in you deck, upping the odds? Also Path is always strong but it lacks any synergy with SGM. Could Boros Charm take its place instead? It would also be able to give BC Doublestrike which should trample through enough poison from just about anything out there. Or maybe Sunlance? Just spitballing. Thanks for sharing. I'll keep an eye out for any changes you make.
Nothing spectacular in my Bundle Pack. Got a Dovin Baan and the UG Fastland and a lot of bulk. And ZERO foils out of 10 packs. Felt a bit ripped off frankly.
But my son pulled a Masterpiece. The red Gearhulk >>> Combustible Gearhulk also a couple of fast lands, the Smuggler's Copter and 3 foils. Glad he got the good one.
I haven't had that much problem with map and chalice together. Usually it's t1 map, t2 chalice. Sometimes I don't even play the chalice on 1 if it's not great in the matchup and map is a live draw. Usually, if you have chalice on 1 down, it hurts your opponent way more than it does you by cutting off your map draws.
The bigger problem with chalice that I've noticed is that it shuts off some of my sideboard draws like relic, pithing needle, basilisk collar and gut shot. But again, if I'm keeping chalice after board, it punishes my opponent more than it me.
I guess I just seem to be drawing an inordinate amount of maps a turn or two after I've dropped a Chalice on one. It does always hurt my opponent more but slowing me off an early Tron just feels wrong at times. I wish there was a worse Map out there at 2 cmc, but it doesn't seem to exist.
I love the effort put into this and its great to see the discussion going on. But I really feel that if you leave out The Rack and Shrieking Affliction out of the core, it is doing the deck a disservice. It is indeed called 8rack, not 8seize or LilyDiscard. They are the main wincons, they need to be included in the core PERIOD.
Thanks for the opinions. I was leaning towards Filigree Familiar as well if I do go that route in my 15.
I'm definitely in with 4 MD Chalice as well. I just hate that it turns of Map every once in a while. I guess there is nothing out there like Map at the 2 cmc mana slot in colorless.
I personally am a grammar advocate. Language is there so we can communicate effectively, but for me, it boils down to this: today's mistakes are tomorrow's common usage. Seth can do what he wants, but I personally find those kinds of mispronunciations, and the volume with which they occur, incredibly grating.
I think we will hear some improvement. And again I'd offer help if needed. With a mother that has been in Speech/Language Therapy for 50 years now, helping those with speech issues, I have additional avenues of assistance if needed.
Some of you know I like to to run 4 Ensnaring Bridge maindeck. What would you think of boarding them out game two for 2 to 4 Chandra, Torch of Defiance or maybe a 2/2 split of Chandra and Asylum Visitor or 2/2 Split of Chandra and Smallpox or 2/2 Split of Chandra and extra removal? Just thinking a lot of artifact hate boarded in against me game 2 and wondering if this might be an option.
If you like sounding like an illiterate bumpkin why not?
I applaud his effort. He is the "face/voice" for that site. If you want to be taken seriously, you have to speak a bit more professional. I love his enthusiasm and hope he keeps that. I think its a good decision. I hope he sticks to working harder and I think those efforts will pay off in the long run for him and MTGGoldfish. Best wishes to Seth and hope he knows some are willing to help if we can.
HALLELUJAH!!! Thank you Seth. Admitting there is a problem was the first step. We would gladly help you out if needed. Keep the enthusiasm and love of the game and add in the pronunciations and I'm looking forward to great things. Let us know if we can assist. Good luck and thank you for addressing your pronunciations.
Have you tried the white lists like what Eperino posted last page. Imo they are better than the red ones.
Yes, what Fear said.
Blightning in too slow and fights with Lily and Bridge in the 3 cmc slot. I'd like to add Dreadbore is decent in the SB in RB 8rack lists as well. It is decent in metas heavy in Tron, Jund and Jeskai Nahiri with lots of planes walkers.
I find white splash interesting but I'm not sure just 3 sources of W for 4 cards (or up to 9 total post game one) is enough to be consistent even with 4 Expedition Map. There are going to be games with 2 Paths sitting in your opening hand and no white sources to play or maps to crack. Could lead to extra mulling or worse yet unable to play Path at all. Cracking a Ghost Quarter on your own land to tutor up a Plains seems bad too. Just seems like it need more W sources to make this viable. Good luck.

Sorry had to get that off my chest. Continue on.

Bottle Gnomes or Filigree Familiar?
Not sure I'm actually going to run either one but which would be the better choice?
Thanks for the work done.
Thank you and well stated.
