I'm new to MTG Salvation so I thought I'd introduce myself.
I've been playing since I was 13, but I didn't get really serious until junior year of high school. I don't have a ton of competitive playing or advanced brewing experience, but I love the game for what it is and for the connections it's helped me make.
As for now I play mainly Modern and my current competitive deck is a Blue-Red Elemental Combo. Cause why wait when you can swing for 23 damage on turn 3?
Thanks for having me and I'm looking forward to my conversations with you all!

Jul 26, 2015Hey Traproot, first of all, AMAZING work. I'm super impressed!Posted in: Avatar & Sig Shop Archive
I'd like to make a request, if possible.
I currently run a Modern Elemental Combo deck, so I was wondering if it'd be possible to get a sig image themed around Nivmagus Elemental, Flamekin Harbinger, and Kiln Fiend. I'd like the Nivmagus to be in the center, and if possible, to have the quote "What just happened?" in the center underneath. Feel free to use another quote if you feel it's wittier.
Dimensions can be whatever you decide works best.
Thanks so much in advance if you decide to accept my request!

I'm still not a hundred percent sure I'll pilot Death & Taxes as my alternative modern deck, but maybe once I play a few more events and improve a bit more, I'll definitely look into grabbing one.
Budget is always an issue, but I think this is one of those decks worth saving for.
Thanks once again!
Jul 26, 2015Hey everyone, first of all, thanks a ton in advance for any advice, info, or opinions you guys have.Posted in: Modern
I've only recently begun playing more competitively at local FNMs and other events back home in Singapore, as I'm here for the summer from college. I'm already piloting an Elemental Combo (Blue/Red) as my main Modern deck and it's doing pretty well (Not many people expect a rogue deck in SG, considering how many people netdeck and play established archetypes like Jund, Tron, Merfolk, Affinity, etc.), but I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions for another viable deck around $200 or less that's also unexpected (another rogue deck, preferably; it's so much fun to see the looks on people's faces when they realize they don't have any answers maindeck or sideboard XD), and preferably a different style than my Ele-Combo (Control would be best, but honestly anything not Aggro and all or nothing/all-in would be nice.)
I usually play Black and Blue, so I'm most familiar with those colors, but I'm honestly game for trying anything. I love expanding.
I'm also pretty decent at playing the control game, but I'm still learning how to read my opponent better.
I'm also a huge fan of decks that make my opponent's jaw drop or has them scratching their head trying to figure out how they lost and/or why they don't have any answers. Most of my brews back in storage at college have some element of this in em, like my Black Ramp Sorin's Vengeance combo, my Graveyard Toolbox (Turn one Grave Titan anyone? :p), etc.
Also something to mention: I'm still learning various mechanics regarding things like the stack especially, so I don't know if that's something to keep in mind as well.
Thanks again in advance everybody!
Jul 26, 2015Is there any way to make this deck work without Aether Vial? I'm guessing no, probably, but just wanted to ask and be sure. Playing MTG on a college budget is kind of difficult hehe...Posted in: Modern Archives - Established
Following up though, this is a very fun looking archetype. I've only recently started playing MTG at FNM's and more competitive events, since I'm home in Singapore for the summer; sorry in advance if I don't know the metagame or various facets of it that well. This is the deck I'm pretty sure I want to main, since the SG scene is full of aggro and decks like Jund, Tron, etc. Also, I dunno whether this is assumption is correct, but I'm gonna guess Death and Taxes is somewhat of a rogue deck to pilot, at least in a place like Singapore.

Norin Sisters looks really interesting and I'd love to pilot it at least once sometime, but way too many people in my area play Jund or Grixis, which makes it a relatively poor matchup from what I understand. :/
I'm thinking of piloting Death & Taxes instead, although I'm keeping my mind open. Thanks so much for the reply once again!
Jul 26, 2015So I'm currently home in Singapore for my summer break, and I was wondering how well this deck functions against Modern staples such as Jund, Tron, Affinity, and the various combo decks? I've been looking around for info but I haven't found much information (Or maybe I've just been looking in the wrong places). A lot of people in my area netdeck staples, so I've been trying to find some rogue brews to try and surprise em. I'm already running a Blue-Red Elemental Combo.Posted in: Aggro & Tempo
Any advice or information would be really appreciated. Sorry for the hassle and thanks in advance!
