I understand the ADD thing. I've done this every day for the last couple of years, so it's become a routine. Gather more evidence, read more news and articles, discuss/debate things, plan for future actions.
The bright side is that I actually have some level of understanding what's really happening in the world and in the economy and by virtue of that, I might be able to keep my family afloat when things get ugliest.
I know what you mean about government intervention into the economy (and nearly anything else, really). This is an agenda to promote socialism and to dissolve national sovereignty. The simple way to do it is to make all these Economic Integration (google transatlantic economic integration) agreements and promote it as the way out of this recession.
As for the google videos you can't watch, try youtube if that works for you. Just search for the named titles: "Money as Debt," "Money, Banking, and the Federal Reserve," "The Money Masters," and "Fiat Empire."
Money as Debt really should be your starting point. It helped me a lot. It's not technical babble, and is in a simple, cartoon-style format that will make things pretty easy to grasp. I think high school kids should be shown that video.
As for Glenn Beck, a lot of what he's talking about (especially since his interviews with Ron Paul) are things I agree on (small government--but not on the Iraq occupation), but he's untrustworthy. He called Ron Paul supporters terrorists. That is disgusting. I'm one of the veterans he worships...so how does that equation level out?

Mar 13, 2008SHINK posted a message on Conspiracy and YouAs for how soon, that is of course hard to pinpoint exactly 'when' a lot of things will happen, but current trends in the value of the dollar, the Iran Oil Bourse opening, Alan Greenspan telling some Arab nations to dump the dollar, Bernanke just yesterday inflating (weakening the value of the dollar by creating more) by $200 Billion, etc., factored in with the rise in prices of commodities (things of ACTUAL value like food, oil, gold) and of course sabre-rattling over Iran....things are nearing the tipping point. Ron Paul was the only chance this country had for avoiding the next Great Depression, in my opinion.Posted in: Of Thunder and gods
The best thing you can do is just hunker down with some stored food, get rid of the dollar (or whatever you might use, Euro/Pound, etc.) in favor of some silver or gold. Read up on these subjects, particularly the new world order, fractional reserve banking, etc., and once you have a solid sense of what's going on, just spread the word in a reasonable manner. -

Now, I'm not trying to sound condescending, but perhaps you aren't familiar with fiat currency/how money works? I know I wasn't for the majority of my life. Let's get you some video:
Money as Debt (fairly short, animated, best intro)

I am very glad you stuck in there with all those links in my original post, Redington. Stick it out through these for a real eye-opener. Of course, most pressing is the economic/food news. Buy stored food while you can. Feel free to ask me whatever and I'll answer as best as I can. -
Mar 12, 2008SHINK posted a message on To quit or not to quitMagic is one of those things where sometimes you need very lengthy breaks from it, but can pick it back up after a long hiatus and be pretty happy. I don't recommend a 'full' cold turkey quitting. I would just greatly reduce the economic impact Magic may have on you. Get a bit stingier on purchases. Play more on MWS. Borrow cards for tournaments more than purchasing. Like suggested previously, look for what kind of scene exists wherever you're doing college.Posted in: Psi's Blog
I've played for over 12 years. Magic is a good thing to set down for awhile, but I can't imagine tossing everything I own, never to enjoy laughing at my two-headed-giant teammate's stupid misplays that lost us a guaranteed win, or the look on someone's face when you have THAT ONE EXACT THING that keeps them from victory. Make Magic an enjoyable snack rather than a repetitive meal, and you'll be fine. -
Mar 12, 2008SHINK posted a message on Conspiracy and YouPosted in: Of Thunder and godsThose vidoes are very interesting; they are thorough and comprehensive. I agree with the subject on the role of goverment: that there has to be a happy medium between anarchy and totalitarianism. Since we all can atest to that both are not good for the individual, in the big scheme of things.
Thanks for checking them out, Redington. I hope others do as well. I have a lot to dump on you folks, since I've got about 3 years of obsessive research into all of what I'm going to get into.
A couple nuggets for you:
*Prescott Bush, George W's grandpappy, helped FUND NAZI GERMANY, even while being supposedly a patriotic American.
* Banks operate solely on theft. Banks hold astronomically less money in reserves, ie what you deposit than what they lend out at high interest. The net effect is that fractional reserve banks (look up that term and STUDY it) effectively 'create' "money" that does not exist. When there is money created with no solid thing (a commodity like gold or silver or platinum) giving it actual value, it lessens the purchasing power of your money. This is the slickest form of theft ever conceived.
The whole world will hit a full-scale economic collapse soon. For all you hold dear, I hope you are RIGHT NOW purchasing years' supplies of stored food, gold/silver (as the dollar's collapse will gut the economy of every other major country with it), and water filters. I am a broke disabled veteran at a mere 23 years of age, but I will do what I can to protect my family. Go, read.
Find out about the massive reduction in bee populations. Read about grain shortages and the price multiplying in a matter of months. Read the AP article admitting that our water supplies are filthy (and not just with dirt). Wise up. The New World Order (as they call themselves) has crafted this financial ruin and coming descent into martial law. The US will lose its sovereignty and any vestige of liberty remaining. The way to stop it is first to CARE, then to EDUCATE yourself then others. This stuff cannot go on with an individualistic, educated populace on guard. I want you to fight for the life you and your family deserves. I will do the same, and will see you further down the road.

Searing Blaze was a card I overlooked for a little bit, but it didn't take long to see that twin Lightning Bolts on one card is pretty damn good for the cost, plus good burn is one of the themes the OP (whom I don't know if he wants me calling by name...) has intended for red in the cube.
It's not an oxymoron if you're defining a cube as "a chosen number of Magic: the Gathering cards with a single copy of each intended for sexy awesomeness and badass drafting." This cube plays so extremely well.
It's great to see articles from you, Finn. Nice work. I can't say I want creatures to be what the game is all about, but upping their power level (or at least usefulness/flexibility) is good so long as they throw a bone to non-creatures and blue here and there as well. Thanks for the article.
I have a lot of catching up to do, and 11 pages of posts to read here, but already I see news that Iced Earth finally did something again, which I'm happy to hear, and that Megadeth did some stuff I should look into.
On another note, I'm still jealous of you lucky bastards going to all manner of badass concerts/festivals when I have yet to go to one, STILL.
So as to have something worthy of your replies, how about somebody recommend to me:

Top 5 album releases from '08 (thus far)

I do, however, want to point out in typically lazy internet fashion, one method that can be used to protect information that would shatter an ongoing conspiracy (or secrecy in general):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compartmentalization_(intelligence)
If you consider the sheer volume of information the government holds in total, it is staggering, and must tell one Hell of a story if tied together. The NSA, DARPA, the CIA, FBI, P2OG, SFOD-D, the NRO, not to mention countless other 'shadowy' outfits and even more mundane departments all contain massive amounts of information that not only Average Internet Poster will never see but people at the highest levels within those groups will not know in totality either.
That leads to the possibility of enormous events or plans that most will not know about yet still occurring. I believe CherryBoom (or is it Bloom...?) asked how it was possible that with so many people working in government that the lid wouldn't be totally blown off regarding 9/11 being an inside job.
Show me how "free trade" is relevant to all those links I provided you.

This ain't about "free trade."
Nothing to say, BS? That seems rather uncharacteristic of you.

Government intervention into the free market, and the desire to pass global laws on 'climate change' (notice they backpedal on calling it "global warming"). A carbon tax system. Further, I have no reason to believe that politicians will make some benevolent, wise decision about what we exhale.
Among all the Ron Paul supporters I've come in contact with (and that's a lot), not one has expressed any excitement over Ron being VP to Juan McCain. I am proud of the fact that Ron would absolutely never endorse him. It's just too bad that he won't be pushed into an Independent run no matter how much we beg.

There really is utter mountains of stuff. If you don't want to research it, I don't blame you. It's not like it brings a smile to your day to know this stuff. Still, dismissing it without any research makes your position seem a lot weaker than mine.
