Oh, you think Sram is your ally? You have merely adopted him! I was born a Knight, molded by the Mirrodin. I didn't see a Senior Edificer until I was already a divorced man, by then it was nothing to me but an IMPROVED ARTIFICER!
Just a quick question - could Diligent Excavator reasonably serve as an alternate wincon?
It looks like a more offensive take on the Laboratory Maniac tactic when targeting the opponent. In that sense, its really pretty good.
When targeting yourself, the dig rate could be very high, dredge-style, if Noxious Revival were used to target a newly ditched card to the top while comboing off... But thats a clunky use case.
That similar kind of Ensoul artifact effect on the new Karn, Scion of Urza is playable within a combo turn, though. It also has the similar card advantage additional ability.
As a general sideboard rule, I board in a singleton Echoing Truth in at least 90% of matches. There's almost always something worth bouncing, especially against random Tier 2 decks with oddball sideboard/maindeck bullets. I also board in all the Grids in any matchup where my opponent's gameplan can be described as "answer all threats."
I've been playing JTMS/As Foretold Turns with singletons of Day's Undoing and Living End in the main and Exhausting my opponents into oblivion. When the new bird got printed I picked up a playset and this week I started building, and my mind keeps going back to Sigarda's Aid and how powerful this deck was when I could respond to damage based removal by casting and equipping at instant speed.
Hey everyone im the guy who posted on reddit this is my list. The reason for 1 bone saw 3 sigil is literally because i only had 3 sigil. Happy to answer any questions
Sure why/how did you decide on your sideboard? No outcome, 2 Leyline and why 2 grapeshot. What did you play against?
Im actually back up to 3 leyline was just testing out pact so wanted to see it more. 2 grapeshot is because of thoughtknot seer. Had my only one exiled once and never again . as for no outcome tried it for a while but literally never had a good spot to play it. Was always awkward and never did anything i wanted
Cheerios is pure Durdle. If youre not durdling you are off the combo plan. I played Eggs before this. Its largely similar in its mode of action. Backup plans should only be relevant in the face of resistance; sideboarded answers, counter/removal. Most games should be short with a grapeshot to the face. Attacking takes so many turns. Any extension of the number of turns is inviting the other person to go off first.
What is it that you are encountering that is preventing your combo turn? Is it your local meta?
Traxos, Scourge of Kroog reminds me of Grim Monolith. Maybe the card is terrible, but its jank allure draws me to it and its combo-y goodness. For us, the Voltaic key is, very nearly, built-in. There is still a required input, but its the perfect input for it to be.

(Me too)

My mind keeps coming back to displacement wave not just as another retract but... as a weapon.

What they said.
Ugh... I think id rather rather have as foretold + Wheel of Fate rather than Leyline of anticipation + Day's undoing. But they are both super clunky. Day's undoing Maybe by itself in the sb against removal heavy matchups.
Think Leave // Chance would have performed differently/better for you, in comparison to Paradoxical outcome?
