Round1 - 2:0 vs. R/G Scapeshift (1:0)
Game1: SSG, Ritual, Legion Warboss.
Game2: SSG, SSG, Ritual, Hazoret, Abrade something, Blood Moon.
Easy wins, not much to say.
Round2 - 2:0 vs. Bant Spirits (2:0)
Game1: T3 he swings for 10dmg, T4 he has around 30power on board -> Ensnaring Bridge -> after some trades with hierarch, he concedes -> no outs mainboard vs bridge
Game2: Well timed Anger of the Gods followed by Blood Moon.
Holy f*ck, that deck is explosive. But Ensnaring Bride and Moon are awesome + early sweeper
Round3 - 2:1 vs Jund Death's Shadow (3:0)
Just some words here: It is important to mulligan to your right hate pieces. Chalice or Blood Moon are a must have here.
Best hand ever: "3x Ensnaring Bridge, 2x Gemstone Caverns, 1x Ritual, 1xBlood Moon" -> can u keep this?
Round4 - 2:1 vs BG-Rock (4:0)
Blood Moon T1 on the Draw wins, game 2 i was rekt, game 3 i curved out pretty awesome - Legion Warboss -> Abrade -> Chandra -> Win.
Round5 - 1:2 vs Jund Death's Shadow (4:1)
Impossible draws on his side... 3x Deaths Shadow topdeck stopping my swing for lethal... got him to 1 and lose.
Round6 - 0:2 vs Fenix. (4:2)
Boarded in 10 cards. Guess Phoenix didnt care, Fenix just kills.
Care, it's easy to assume hes on UW Control... was my first big mistake there.
Round6 - 1:2 vs Infect (4:3)
Shame on me, missed a Chalice Trigger and that lost me the game.. was a long day.
Nearly impossible to lose that matchup...
Got taken down from being placed first to the 46. in the end....
tl;dr:
- PyroPrison is really good positioned these days
- I have problems with the "all goblins has to attack" from Rabble
- 8-Goblins have some problems with midrange meta... sometimes they were just useless :s
- people love that deck, everyone had fun and was happy to see it
- will stay on the deck, had awesome games and played great magic
- was impressed how bad Sarkhan, Fireblood is. was great in 1 match and useless in 4.
- One Of Hazoret made my day and won 3 matches alone
- missed somehow the 9. ritual...
So I'm currently on storm and I'm having real contemplation about audibling to this for SCG Worcester this weekend. If I do, how would RW work. It allows us to get stony silence, RIP, And white leylin in the board and could change Abrade to O-ring as a catch all and wrath instead of anger.
Mana base of something like
4 aerid mesa
4 sacred foundry
2 rugged prairie
3 gemstone caverns
5 plains
2 mountains
This could get you the mana you need and play around your own bloodmoons.
I might rock this at my LGS tomorrow to give it a test. If you look at the T16 of SCG Columbus and GP Oakland, how does this deck not steam roll all of that field
I lacked of Gas... Chalice and Moon are good but you have to pressure your opponent.
I have no idea how people keep having good results with "Sun/Moon", lost to affinity/storm/naya-nahiri/WG Hatebears.
Had to win everything but my deck just let me drew the wrong side of the deck... even with the right side I lost horribly to Storm.
So this is my attempt on the deck and it plays really good vs moderndecks - beside that I lost every match vs Standarddecks (Jeskai Control, Grixis Control) which wasnt that great... but I had a lot of fun
I have some questions:
- Ensnaring Bridge vs the 4 Goblins // Hazoret // Sarkhan Ultimate
makes me feel quite uncomfortable... does it work?
- is the Eidolon really that great? Used to run in in my Burnlist where it was really good but in this deck i dont know.
- One of Pyretic Ritual - whats the benefit of it?
Flame of Keld impresses me even more, card advantage and the pleasure of Goblin Grenade for 7dmg = true love.
After playing a Gobotslist for the last months/years, the Mono-R-List just seems a bit slow for my taste - losing to Storm or similar faster aggrodecks -> any ideas, comments, dunno?
I really dont know why people are still playing 2 BM maindeck. Attrition based games and aggro based games is what will dominate the meta now. Lots of decks are playing BM themselves now. You need to use the slots to help yourself more in grindy matchups. That means playing more LoTV, LtLH, Hazoret, and more Dreadbore/Fatal Push.
BM is not gonna help you in control matchups.
Blood Moon is the ONLY way I've ever won vs UWr-Control.
Beside that it was many times free win vs. 5-C-Humans, GrixisDS, TraverseShadow, Abzan and other 2/3-coloured decks.
I know it is vs Storm but I have atm 4x Leylines, 4x Collective, 3 Thoughtseize, 4x Inquistion and 4x K-Kommand to fight Storm... shouldnt that be enough? (luckily I dodged Storm...hate the deck :D)
