Oooooh, yeah, rebound was the Ojutai mechanic. Maybe the +2/+2 white spell, or the bounce one, although it is 5 mana. I just don't think we should rely on Narset Transendant for our rebound stuff.
Maybe not the same gameplay you've got, but you're right in that rebound with surge is awesome. Is there any good rebound burn spells? A rebound spell and Fall of the Titans (not sure if that's the right name) on the next turn seems very potent.
The problem with making a Jeskai ascendancy combo deck with Chandra is that there's no 1-mana butn spells in standard. I feel like it would actually be difficult to combo off with her.
When the Great Aurora was first spoiled, I tried to find a way to break it, and I think an important thing they everyone is forgetting is that it says "any number of land" which means you can keep some in your hand. Why? Molten Vortex
I built something very similar, and something I think you guys are missing out on is Bribers Purse. Free triggers all day and a free counter to stall the game if Herald is out.
Guys, lets not forget Alhammaretts Archive. It allows Jeskai Ascendancy to do horrendous things.
Also, for standard, the deck should run the UG Hexproof manland. You wouldn't even need to run green, just animate the land using its own mana, then cast a spell, allowing you to untap it from Ascendancy. And with it being hexproof it's almost like having Caryatid back in the format.
I'm glad somebody made this thread, I was thinking about it. Our little merfolk friend may prove to be the resurgence of the Jeskai Ascendancy combo deck. A lot of the pieces rotate out of standard, but now we could just go a different route.
The processor Eldrazi that gains life definately feels like it could have had W in its castings cost. Maybe we'll see white devoid in Oath, and this Eldrazi was pushed out of oath and into Battle, this removing its white mana cost?
Dont forget that the pain lands produce colorless!
Kozileks Sentinel and Elusive Spellfist would probably fit well in this deck.
