I only get frustrated when someone doesn't know the rules but I have seen people get seriously angry. I know when I use to play Vintage people would get seriously mad when I would beat their $5,000 deck with a $50 discard deck I threw together in like 20 minutes. Had one guy during a Mox Tournament flip the table because I swept him 3 games to 0.
I actually won a few Vintage tournaments at the store I use to play at running a budget discard deck (ofc, this was like 10 years ago but it might still work). Hypnotic Specter, Liliana's Caress, Megrim, Duress, Hymn to Tourach, etc.
So, this is where my Nekusar deck currently sits after about 6 months of playing and tweaking. Would like to see what other people think and make suggestions if anyone has any (I'm not able to really get Duals or Timetwister). I've looked at pretty much every decklist and primer on the internet and this is what I've came up with. I won't bore anyone with the land base outside of utility lands.
Note: The group I play with is competitive so Nekusar is not frowned upon in the group. I run against Memnarch, Maelstrom Wanderer, Grim-Grin, Norin the Wary and Sliver Overlord.
I'd keep it. It's been pretty steady at about $160 for awhile now but sometimes you never know. I remember a time where I was buying Show and Tell at $0.50 each...
Lately, I've been using Fantasy Flight sleeves and have loved them. Ultra Pro can get kind of snug around cards and you can get a bit of a "ripple" effect with them. DragonShield seems like they wear out too fast to me.
Yeah, blue has some great bombs too. I'm thinking I might just design deck lists for each and testing both out with friends to see which one would be better. From using all the helpful tips here (thank you to all btw!) I should be able to get something going for each Commander I was considering.
Yeah, after reading what you guys have suggested running Adun Oakenshield as my commander doesn't sound like such a bad thing. Actually I had never even seen Priest of Yawgmoth or Soldevi Adnate, they could set up for some pretty fun plays (especially with Welder/Daretti out).
I had also thought about it last night too after I realized blue really can't help me get out Survival/Fauna faster, whereas black can help me find anything. Black would also actually make Su-Chi and Cathodion playable.
Not having access to Academy Ruins might hurt a bit but I'm starting to realize a bit would it really matter if most of my artifacts are creatures anyway.
Sounds to me like your friend is just a sore loser. I'd hate to see what he would do in a competitive store or better yet...I'd hate to see what would happen if he played against a guy running Solidarity/High Tide combo.
Sengir: Right, for some reason I didn't think of that...kind of embarrassed about that now. But using the same concept, Inkwell could do some pretty nasty things. I'll defiantly have to find a spot for Trading Post, possibly Sneak Attack if I can find one around my area for trade.
Jar: Of course, good ol' Squee. I hadn't posted him last night when I made this thread but when I was laying down looking up TnT decks I remembered him.
Runnin: While that does sound fun, it feels like to me that's going away from what TnT is trying to do.
Also, if I do end up using Surrak as my commander, Juggernaut might still be useful. Giving him trample could be fun, especially if I can get him out early enough.
