I think dropping the Leylines is actually a rather bad idea in the new meta. It is pretty strong against the new Eldrazi Decks and Burn as well and my assumption is, that both decks will have a rather large metagame percentage during the next weeks leading up to the Pro Tour.

    My current Sideboard ist:

I dropped the two Rest in PeaceI had in there and now have 2 spots to fill, though I don't really now with what. Any suggestions? Pithing Needle maybe?

I agree on the Leylines; what does your MB look like? Assuming you're not already running 4 PtE main, I'd run x amount MB and stick the rest in your side. I'm also a big fan of Suppression Field; I cut them from my MB in lieu of Twin's ban, but I still keep at least two in the side.

How has Melira worked out for you? I rarely see Bogles play her over Spellskite, but it seems to be a more common occurrence as of late. I'm curious if you've noticed any particular advantages over Spellskite?

Shoutout to TCG seller, 'Miniature Exchange'. Last night I was able to pick up a foil Stony Silence and LP copy for $14 and some change. I was expecting a "sorry, out of stock..." message, but I received the shipping confirmation this afternoon. As I'm almost sure that was a listing error, I'm impressed that they honored the sale considering foil stony is pushing $40; the guy definitely earned my continued business after that.

Looks like Ghost Quarter is in the midst of a buyout as well. It is a perfect target, too. It's going to be a 2 of going forward, at the least.

The Modern staples market is in a state of extremely wild fluctuation. I suspect it will last several weeks, with more instability following the results of the Pro Tour. Loooots of speculation going on.

Good luck trying to buy out an uncommon card reprinted THREE times in the last TWO years, and five times in total. Lol.

    Keep laughing.

    Ghost Quarter today:
Commander 2015: was $1.10, now $1.11, up one cent
    Commander 2014: was $.64 now $.88, up 24 cents
Dissension: was $2.25 now $3.19, up 94 cents
Innistrad: was $.76, now $.89, up 13 cents
Modern Event Deck: was $.89, now $.93, up 4 cents

This card is moving/spiking, and will likely continue to move, as it is now a must have staple to counter several of the strongest decks in the format. If nothing else, it eliminates a dual land and forces your opponent to make a decision on one color or the other. Crucible of Worlds is steadily rising, and Ghost Quarter is a perfect fit. Throw Darksteel Citadel in the mix, and you'll never miss a land drop, while keeping the opponent off their essential colors. I expect this to slowly rise to the $2 - $3 range in the next year. After spikes like today, all it needs is a strong showing at Pro Tour and that timeline could be halved

Edit: Looking further, looks like there was a buyout of M/NM GQ in quantities on TCGplayer.
It can still be had under $1, but only in quantities of 5 or less. Channel Fireball wants $1.64 each (Innistrad), and SCG wants $1.99 per copy, and has only Innistrad in stock (36 NM, 4 sp), everything else is sold out.

A "slow rise to the $2-$3 range in the next year" for a $1 card is not a price spike at all, whatsoever. That's natural growth and it's a common occurrence in all types of markets. A price spike would occur if GQ hit $20 tomorrow and dropped down to $5 Sunday. I can't tell if you're being sarcastic/trolling, but your pointless research tells me that you're probably serious.

Moving forward after all this Ban and the assumed rise of Bx Eldrazi decks. This will be my deck and sideboard. Thinking of bringing down my 3x Suppression Field to 2x and add another Stony Silence because of the assumed rise in Affinity also. Thoughts?

Do you guys think we can try to load Leonin Arbiter in our SB plan? helps in hosing those tutor of Eldrazi & Tron. Thoughts on the post-ban meta?

Our sideboards are identical; trying to figure out a new mb/sb Suppression Field ratio as well. In regards to Leonin, I've played with him in my MB for the last few weeks. I'm a big fan of catching opponents off-guard game 1, so in addition to 2x S. Field, I run singles of Ghostly Prison and Leonin Arbiter. A turn 3 Leonin + Totem Armor is very satisfying and mostly ends with a game win. The number of Twin players at both of my LGSs made it necessary to MB Field and Prison, so I was excited to take them out after the ban, but I think I'll wait and see if they retain effectiveness as the meta shifts.

Have any of you folks ever tried running Sudden Shock? I'm aware that it's usefulness in modern isn't on par with that of legacy, but I'm curious if anybody has found it to be modern-relevant. 2cmc for 2 damage stinks, but I've always been intrigued by the 'Split Second' ability. It seems like it could be helpful as a 1 or 2 of out of the board in order to breakup combos, or even just to stall your opponent a turn so you can draw some gas for the win. I doubt that it would matter in this regard, but I run with Mardu Burn. Thoughts?

After the Splinter Twin banning, it appears that Bogles has a solid opportunity to carve out a nice niche in the meta. Personally, Twin was the deck that caused me the most persistent problems; more than anything, I'm psyched that I can drop one or both mainboard Suppression Field Smile Where do ya'll see Bogles going after the ban?

Its only been a couple hours but the Promo Kolaghan's Command is up to almost 70.

Well, *****. I didn't expect the promos to close the gap in a matter of 24 hours.

Bogles plays with too little interaction, so I can't see them printing Bogles or Infect for that matter. Also, everybody and their brothers has a Twin deck and I doubt WoTC wants to increase its presence. As somebody previously mentioned, I think mono red Burn would be a likely candidate for a new Modern Event deck; it offers players a competitive entry point into modern and it can be the foundation for naya, boros, mardu builds, etc. However, I also wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a new event deck for 2017 or ever again. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that the original 'March of the Multitudes' was intended to to sell players on the format itself? Lately it's seemed as though modern has skyrocketed in popularity, spiking prices and hurting standard in the process. I'm a pharmacist, not an marketing analyst, but I just don't see the appeal for WoTC to print an event deck for a format that has exceeded expectations and [aside from MM sets] doesn't directly contribute to new expansion set sales.

Any thoughts on picking up foil Kolaghan's Command? Right now, the cheapest foils on TCGplayer are roughly $70/each. However, the promos are going for ~$25/each. Normally, I don't tend to value promo foils the same as the real deal, but I'm tempted to pick a few up.

Has anybody tried running Worship at all? Cmc of 4 isn't great, but it wouldn't matter when we dropped it so long as there's a hexproofer in play. It buys time, pumps Ethereal Armor, and in most games, it will only deactivate due to enchantment-removal rather than the creature claus. I picked up a few copies to test, so it should be a fun little experiment.

Is Eye of Ugin's new price tag a short-term thing or do we see it coming down after the hype wears off?

I held off after the initial spike to ~$20-$25, but last night I dumped three of four play sets at $30 a piece. I honestly can't see it surpassing $35 and I'm not willing to find out.

The problem doesn't originate from WoTC or the secondary market itself. Rather, it's b/c of turd burglars who buy out supply that spike the prices. There's no problem with fiscal responsibility and keeping up with market trends in order to pickup playsets/singles before prices rise, but it's a real dick move when people buyout cards to sit on and not play. They're effectively taking cards out of circulation while they sit in a storage locker, driving up prices. My LGS limits the purchase of singles to 4 per customer; of course one person could buy them at different times, but it gives more players an opportunity to get their hands on needed cards. It would be nice to see market forces like SCG & TCG Player enact similar policies; maybe limit customer accounts to x amount of a single card in a x time period. However nice this would be, I don't see it becoming a reality as it would essentially be these companies telling people they don't want their money.

TL;DR: There's nothing wrong about speculating on playsets and playing the market game. However, if you buy 100 copies of something and sit on it, you're just being a selfish dick.

Grove has been hovering from 60-70 for weeks now. Availability is questionable though. Its Karn that should be watched out for as it spiked by $10 in just a day.

I'd buy Karn foils ASAP. There's only a $10 difference b/w the MM foils and non-foils at the moment. I would've picked up more than 2, but the money tree in my backyard hasn't sprouted yet.
