Hello everyone sorry i haven't posted in here for a couple of days just been really busy with work lately that it takes up a chunk of my time. Anyway I have come up with a new deck for legacy and so far it has done well against threshold, ichrorid bridge(after boarding), cephalid breakfast, and loam aggro. As well as having a winnable matchup versus belcher probably about even persay. I call the deck Dumptruck and it has alot of potential to take off in the format with a good amount of testing and such. Here is the deck.

Enjoy the deck and see you all soon!

    Love,

    Cecilia

I was just about to say 'um.. enchantments not being on par with creatures?' Maybe not in T2 these days, but in Magic, more enchantments have been banned/restricted than creatures in the game's history. Still, Mamelon is right; creatures and enchantments are judged on different scales.

Yeah i was just saying that enchantments are pretty good well in the right deck anyway. Yeah I never said that creatures and enchantments are not judged on different scales. That is relevant because goblins is a pure creature aggro deck and people play goblins alot more then they have with any enchantress deck.

Oh sorry alacar i read your post wrong heh... I definetly agree that enchantments are definetly are not judge the same way as creatures. Like you said mamelon and joyd that people think higher of creatures then enchantment which is relevant in legacy where alot of players play threshold and thats a creature deck with countermagic considerably more so then enchantress.

    *waves back at Little Dragon*

    Very impressive, Sakura.

I'm with Joyd about the enchantments. Enchantments are probably easily dismissed, because they are less dynamic than creatures. And not unlike creatures, there are a lot of enchantments that are good but not necessarily exceptionally powerful.
Blood Rites and Treasure Trove are both good enchantments, though probably not seen as being extremely good. Future Sight was a very good enchantment, though certainly not a Moat. Meanwhile, simple cards like Pacifism, Robe of Mirrors, and Quiet Disrepair get a lot less attention than the aforementioned, and yet are quite well made and playable.

I guess enchantments just are typically held to a different standard of quality than other kinds of cards.

Actually enchantments are very powerful like threads of disloyalty which lets you control tarmogoyfs which happens to be one of the best cards in legacy mainly because its played in threshold which dominated the last big legacy event here in the US. Also the fact that DCI banned replenish for a number of years in legacy and lately unbanned it has been a pretty good indication that enchantments are powerful. Especially since enchantress has been a noticably strong deck and I think the deck could still do pretty well in the format.

Oooh, everyone's busting out their college talk, hhe. It sounds pretty exciting, actually. College peeps, do you find you tend to feel anticipation for school to start again, or dread (as in high school)?

Well when i was in college mamelon i always enjoyed going back to school since i get to see people that i talk to alot again. I also thought going to the university library to study it was a pretty nice place to study. Its like a 50 million dollar library and I kid you not. By the way how are you mamelon? Sorry we haven't talked for awhile. *hugs*

Well i just wanted to stop by and say hello im going to eat then head to work.

I also have good news there is a good chance from a year from now I could become an assistant manager. Smile

Anyway see you all soon. *hugs and blows kisses*

As for me.. school starts in 5 days.. :shiver:

Actually it was first place out of 28 players not too bad. I wish there were like more then 50 player tournaments here though. Wink Getting 30 dollars worth of credit and 2 guildpact boosters was pretty good for only paying 12 dollars to enter. Wink

Hello everyone just wanted to drop by and say hello and to see how are all of you doing. Smile

Anyway like a day before Gencon 2007 Legacy championships which had around 190 players at the tournament I just find it kinda funny and ironic that i was playtesting american funkbrew slaughter against threshold for 2 days straight and did alot of playtesting against the deck and then a day later after my playtesting i found out that threshold won the whole legacy champs event and there were a total of 4 threshold decks out of the top 8 there. Anyhow just wanted to share that with all of you. Wink

Well i hope everyone is doing well and hopefully ill be able to get regular of the week up tonight i might need some help on it though alacar if you don't mind that is. Wink See you all soon! *hugs and blows kisses to everyone*

I'm here. I can't belive the first major downtime I have had in the past few days has been the last few hours (in which I was able to update myself with everything online I had been holding back on, finally getting to here).

Ah...Landstill...a classic deck that is quite amusing to play. But I'm not so sure abotu the matchup against Belcher that you said...I don't think it really would help that much. IMO, it comes down to how many counters you draw. But of course, I also wouldn't listen to my advice on Legacy, as I haven't played since I sold all my Legacy stuff back last November.

As for me, theres been a few somewhat major, somewhat minor changes in my life, and a few events that have really ticked me off at quite a few people. That's pretty much all I will say, but those both led to a bunch of talking with other people trying to resolve everything while at the same time manage my sanity (which I was actually able to do for once, so I am quite happy). Also...only two more days before I can go and play Bioshock (none of the damn stores around me bothered to "Accidentally" sell it early...and I've tried everyplace within a 15 mile radius...). I'll probably be back tomorrow and Monday, but Tuesday will most likely be gaming all day, Wednesday I may or may not go to Ozzfest (which I got tickets for and forgot about (and yes, laugh all you want at the prospect of someone like me going there)), and if I don't go, then I will well...probably be finishing up Bioshock.

well i never said that it was a garaunteed win against belcher all i said was the matchup is favorable for landstill which has a different meaning in my opinion. Actually it really matters if you have force in your opening hand and not necassarily the number of counters you draw in the matchup against belcher particularly in the opening plays or one or two turns later. Although having more counters will definetly help if you can live longer then the first two or three turns. I would of add a better desciption for each matchup but i was talking on the phone.

Its time for legacy of the week this time im using one of my favorite legacy decks of all time. Wink

I would like to introduce to you UR landstill this deck has proved itself from time to time again that it can be a good contender in legacy. Of course ive always liked any kind of control deck. Landstill does take quite a bit of skill to use correctly. Smile

    Matchup Analysis

Threshold: You have a favorable game against threshold because setting Engineered explosives on 1 or 2 kills their nimble mongooses and tarmogoyfs. You also have disks to clear the board of their fledgling dragons or mystic enforcers. Postboard it gets better since you have tormod's crypt to nullify their threshold creatures.

Goblins: You have a favorable matchup especially postboard with pyroclams and with bolts and fire/ices. You also can bring in shattering spree to take care of their vials. You also have more then 5 answers on the draw and more then 9 answers on the play against their first turn lackey. Also stifles helps immensely against their goblin ringleaders that can have them gain massive card advantage that not even fact or fiction can compare most of the time.

Ichorid bridge:id say you have a favorable matchup postboard since you can bring crypts. Also stifling their zealot and EEs can save you against their hordes of zombies. However there is nothing you can do about it if they go off on turn 3 unless you draw the right answers to their threats. This matchup is winnable but its definetly not an easy win thats for sure especially since landstill's clock can be pretty slow most of the time.

Belcher:i'd say this is favorable with force of will and EEs for their goblin tokens although that would require luck to draw the right answers for their tokens and belcher especially in the first 2 or 3 turns of the match. However the longer you live against this matchup and against any other fast combo deck the better your chances are. This matchup is winnable though just not a garuanteed one. This matchup is definetly easier then tendril combo decks since they usually pack in less disruptions although belcher decks with xantid swarm can be troublesome just hope you have a swords to answer it. I would suggest mulliganing until you get a fow in your opening hand.

Well thats it for lotw for now see you all soon. Wink

I don't have much time to catch up, but I wanted to make a quick post.

This was, for some reason, an incredibly depressing day. It just hit hard early in the morning, and didn't really let up. I'm watching time pass by so quickly around me, and I'm still trying to catch my breath.

On the up side, new manga! I've read over Tramps Like Us, got the second volume, and it's turning out to be a real jewel. I'm excited to read the rest of the volume and get the third one. This is one to keep following, definitely.
I read Qwan and have a pretty good impression of it. It's feels a little bit like Vampire Princess Miyu mixed with Naruto, with a dash of the original Dragon Ball because of the Chinese mythological elements.
The new Detective Conan is good as always, and I still have Bleach and FMA to catch up on. Then, the third installment of Little Butterfly, completing the series. I've been preparing for that one, and am anxious to see how the story will turn out.

Have to get up early tomorrow for a meeting, but later on - "picnic time!"

Sorry to hear about your deppressing day mamelon. *hugs* Im glad your day light up later on when you got your manga though its always pretty cool when that happens. Wink Hopefully the meeting goes well for you and enjoy your picnic! Smile

    Here we go...

    ANIME OF THE WEEK

    Series: Red Garden
    Genre: Horror - Mystery - Sci-fi - Drama
    Episodes: 22

Kate, Rose, Claire, and Rachel - these are four very different girls who all attend the same private high school in New York. Recently, a mutual acquaintance at the school, Lise, committed suicide. After the announcement, school was cancelled for the day, and they were brought together in the midst of their mourning, for they all knew her in some way. According to police, her suicide seems to be just one in a string of related events.

Later that day, after everyone has gone home, the girls are drawn individually to Central Park by mysterious butterflies which only they can see. There, they meet a man and a woman in business attire, and are subsequently attacked by a savage, animalistic man with grey skin and glowing eyes. The woman instructs them to defeat this creature, and they do, just barely managing to stay in one piece. She goes on to tell them that the four of them are not alive, but dead... and in order to restore their true bodies, they must continue fighting these creatures in secret.

What's going on here? Are the girls really dead? If so, how? Is there any relation to the mysterious string of recent suicides? Will the girls be able to learn to cooperate with each other long enough to stay alive?

Story, artwork, music, characters, setting - Red Garden has all these in spades. The art style is beautiful, reminiscent of more artsy shows like Nana and Paradise Kiss. The characters are all unique and interesting, as is the plot. The music, while not outstanding, really does a good job, and leaves not a whole lot to be desired. The setting (New York) is conveyed wonderfully through the unique art style, and the show uses tons of little details to really give you the feeling of being in the big apple rather than a generic city. The story carries well, never becoming slow enough to lose the viewer's interest, while at the same time dedicating plenty of time to character development and never rushing the plot. The ending is one of the absolute standout best endings I've seen in an anime, with a pan-out shot of New York City that can't be missed. I give this one an 8.5/10.

    Red Garden Goodies:
    Red Garden OP
Red Garden ED1 - Rock the LMC
Red Garden ED2 - Oh My Juliet

Once again nice review on the anime! Wink

@Saki&Devi: That song is something else I must say. But I do like it quite a bit. Good show, both of you.

@AL: Don't feel like you've done anything wrong for not doing RotW. Everyone needs breaks.

I know I haven't been around a lot, and for that I am sorry. It has just become such a busy time of year for me due to the whole needing to find colleges to apply to thing. But I promise once school starts (2 weeks or so) I will be much more active, back to 7-10 posts a day, not one or two every other day.

Yesterday though, was amazing. It was the last day of camp, which means I got paid and can finally get that XBOX360 I've had my eye on for so long. I also saw Superbad last night which was fantastic. It was a packed house and I love it when there is audience participation in a movie. It just made the experience that much better. As long as you don't not like juvenile humor you will find this movie to be very very funny.

Well you gotta do what you gotta do ep and we all understand that i havent been posting much in here lately either. However i try to post every so often. Smile I think the next thread though i want to go for the top 3 most posts again like i have the last 3 times. Wink Nice that you got an xbox 360 have fun with it and you should try out the RPG enchanted arms i thought it was an interesting but rather fun game for the 360 and its fairly long. Smile

    @hunter44: thanks hunter44. Wink

See you all soon! Im going to see if i can past the feywood and get into giruvygen in ff12. Wink

@mamelon: sorry i havent been around to support when you needed it just been really busy with work lately with the p romotion and everything so i havent even had a chance to post in here as well.

Well ive been working on a new legacy deck lately and its basically ugw threshold with a twist it can play like a semi lock confinement deck which can be great in the mid to late game. I just beat ugw threshold and ugr threshold earlier today 2-1 both times and went like 5-1 against goblins and 3-0 against Belcher which seems to be the most consistent combo deck in legacy right now. Anyhow here is the list ive been testing.

I also like sakura's extended deck it looks like a mid range control deck and probably fits my playing style as well. Smile

Ouch.. I'm sorry to hear that Cec.. I've had the same kind of thing happen to me, the whole "how long have you been here now, you should know this by now" drill.... I hate that because it makes you feel so insignificant and stupid.... For me it really involves needing to be able to focus on one task and not 50 at a time :p I really hope that you can show your boss that you can achieve what you need to do Kekeke

Yeah its okay i knew how to handle it and i was fine afterwards.

Cecilia: I'd honestly be happy with that day... It might've been a bit of a headache but this kinda situation will probably present itself again and now you know what to do. Smile

Sorry your boss was being dick. I've gotten into long arguments with my boss over silly stuff like that. The best thing to do is just walk away and forget about it.

Worked stunk today becasue it was like 1000 degrees outside and I was sweating while standing around. And I'm stuck home doing work tonight. This sucks.

Yeah oh well things happen and at least i usually do what i suppose to do and thats what i pretty much did afterwards was do what i suppose to do when im on the clock and then just go home and start a new day tommorrow. aww that stinks and hopefully the day doesnt drag on. *hugs*
