Shambling Vent? Interesting that I just noticed people are playing this. I figured you were better off with just making sure you put Tokens down every turn. What's it's use? Why are we using him? (serious question, very curious! Always looking to amp up my game)
Sram's Expertise fits in with Sisters more then us I think. Though the idea of using it along Midnight Haunting isn't the worst thing. Seems a bit slow and we're loaded at 4. I use 4 PW's there, not sure what else I'd cut. Especially now with Push being an auto 2-4 of. Things are getting tighter, which is good. That means the deck is too.
Spectral possession seems bad in a world of combo. Of course, I think BB is pretty bad in this meta too. Main board Timely and Midnight Hauntings have been doing so much better.
Definitely switched the deck around and I think it's in a good place. Main board Timely Reinforcements is bonker. 2 Sorin, 2 new Gideon. No Bitterblossom. And secret tech: a 1 of Smugglers Copter (could even be 2). 3/3 easily crewed with card draw. You discard dead plays or Souls. If even pumps up for Murderous Cut this way. Brilliant card in this list.
Lost to Tron in game 1, 2-1. Seems like an impossible match up. Beat Merfolk 2-1 and then Burn 2-0. Aggro seems like a great matchup and Timely/Sorin/Vault just makes Burn cry. Then lost 2-0 to the secret tier 1 deck of the meta, Bant Humans. Was a LONG game. Gummed it up with Sorin/Gideon and tokens.
Yeah, short report but I rarely, if ever, do these. New deck for me, getting a handle on it. Lots of fun. I will bring the deck home and put up a list when I have a chance.
So I played the original Modern Event Deck (as is) for fun a pile of times and holy hell I am hooked now. I was gonna do Norin Sisters but I think mission 1 is Tokens. I looked around and noticed 2 VERY interesting variants. First is Polymorph Tokens (http://www.mtgtop8.com/event?e=13714&d=280796&f=MO) which seems interesting as hell. Basically gum up the board and play Emrakul off a token. The second was Mirror Tokens playing Mirrorweave which also seems really good (http://www.mtgtop8.com/event?e=11605&d=266044&f=MO for an example). Mirrorweave seems really good sideboard, not sure it's validity main board. Then again, to be fair, we're playing Tokens so we like a good challenge.
Also: any thought about counter magic? Mana Tithe for example. How do we survive Anger? With the Modern Event Deck it was Tidehollow Sculler. Otherwise I assume it's IoK or Thoughtseize.
My contention with Geist is that one creature on board makes him unable to swing and if we don't have Path we're often just trading or not swinging. Mantis Rider swings the turn he comes down and evades. Not saying he is unquestionably better, he isn't, but in the current meta of Anglers and Tasigurs he might be.
Whirler Rogue as a top end might change that though. Thassa did the same work as Rogue though, allowed a scry and was really hard to remove and very few played her.
Ojutai's Command is a 1 of, but when I draw it I almost never feel bad (unless it's say first or second turn but even on second turn it flips Delver). I've outright blew out burn with it (gain 4, get back Spellskite), counter Deciever Exarch, draw a card is always good. I really like it. I think it remains a 1 or 2 of. I didn't end up going with Lingering Souls. I thought it would just be too hard on the mana. Thunderbreak Regent has been amazing. Actually had a few "Never thought it would be good in Modern" comments. It just can't be dealt with and with the amount of filtering in the deck you can often draw another and they'll just scoop.
I'll get my deck and post up a list here soon. I am making tons of play errors, but that's to be expected.
I am wondering if we don't need less four drops. I feel like if we don't have 4 Wilt Leaf, we almost shouldn't play them sometimes which would leave spots open for discard or removal. Woodland Wanderer would definitely be playable if Rhino wasn't Lightning Helix on a stick. I don't hate the above idea really.
The biggest one is Jeskai Ascendancy. It provides a pretty big card draw engine, filters out the lands in your hands, gets you to answers faster. Plus it makes your creatures pretty good for that turn. While mostly for the engine, having jacked up Mentor tokens seems good. Not 100% sold, but I think it's an option to really look at.
Monastery Swiftspear. Haste. Prowess off the waterfall of artifacts. Works well with Ascendancy, with Retract, etc. Plus with Haste we can use the Paradise Mantle more to float mana.
Invisible Stalker, but only off the Jeskai Ascendancy engine. Gets there.
I am not sold on Myth Realized. If it had trample, that'd be a different monster. I'd almost want Gavaleer instead.
I am loving the deck, just trying to see what works for me and what other people are playing. Some great ideas are forming in here, I'll definitely be paying attention!
And is no one playing Raise the Alarm anymore?

Do your tokens even hit the GY? I thought they didn't, therefore never triggering it.

And your expose is where I got the idea to run the deck. So thanks!

I've also been playing without Muddle.
I've also been maindecking Spellskite and loving it. Here's my "current" iteration. By current I mean it changes constantly.
