Yeah, but maybe I'm biased because gy hate is not that useful in my meta.
A more general list should be running scooze instead of Liberators, an 1 or 2 dryads instead of elephants.
I have to say after some tests that I'm not sure about the other cards but Narnam Renegade is just bonkers, 1-drop that swings for 2, trades with almost everything, stalls every 2/x, evolves E1 to 3/3, buffs Avatar. It's the perfect 1-drop we've been waiting for. We just need to adapt the deck to be able to use it.
This is extremely consistent at triggering revolt with the addition of Mishra's Bauble. Need more testing, don't know if scooze or liberator is better maindeck, and not sure on the amount of aspects/blossomings, but really like it so far.
Explain? I'm having trouble pinpointing exactly what you're implying here, because at a factual level it is inaccurate, so there's obviously some subtext I'm missing that you're not stating. Both Nacatl and Goyf are green creatures. Stating otherwise without elaboration is unhelpful.
He means they are not suited for green strategies. Goyf needs ways to fill the GY, nacatl adds constraints to your manabase
Most exciting cards I have seen in a while. Hope we get even more. Even if they don't work out, I am glad to start trying these cards out. Kessig Prowler the last addition was sort of an easy but unwanted sell. We knew this deck needed another 1 drop and Kessig Prowler was just barely decent enough to pass the cut. This time, we have these interesting cards that we aren't sure will pass the cut but show more potential.
Yeah, I think it's time to do some testing, with both cards, and see how they perform in practice. Only then we'll know how good are their strengths or how bad are their weaknesses, and see if they are worth it or not
For the love of all that is green PLEASE try my list. I have been playing Stompy for years now and I haven't had a better win rate with any version other than this list. Leatherback Baloth/ 3 drops? Forget about em. They are so underwhelming most of the time. Streamlining the deck with 12 one drops, 16 forests and 3 treetop villages is the way to go. Trust me guys. You can search this thread; I provided plenty of screenshots of this deck crushing eldrazi aggro back during eldrazi winter, along with other powerful archetypes... BbearZ I know you have dogged on Young Wolf in the past but have you tried this list? Play it; playing T2 Treetop Village + another one drop as a follow up play to a T1 one drop, it makes a world of difference in terms of power level. Obviously the deck running leatherback is going to be better in some matchups but this version really is the all around better, more consistent deck for taking on the modern field. This seriously ought to be the default Stompy list.
Kalonian Tusker is necessary as a 4 of, as mediocre as it is. And Young Wolf vs Burn? I feel as if so many players have failed to see the upsides of this card. I love the little guy.
Would you recommend this list in a removal light (almost 0 decks with bolt) meta? Or maybe the same but Prowlers instead of Young Wolf?
This deck and primer have inspired me to finally create a MTGSalvation account. I felt like I needed to share my version of 8whack that has been doing very well. Basically, you bring in the Genesis Chambers and take out the Atarka's Commands against any deck that could have multiple board wipes. With a Genesis chamber, all you need is 1 creature plus a bushwhacker to turn a zero power board state into a 8-10 power board state.
This deck has been extremely fun. Does great online and at FNMs.
I chose Companion over Tusker for the trample being a better tradeoff then one toughness (correct me if I am wrong)
It really depends on your meta. Mine is full of 2/x so that 1 thougness is really important. Tuskerr also survives pyroclasm, kozilek's return, kolaghan's command, electrolyze and few others
The other day a hatebrear pilot brought on game 2 a mirran crusader... Was really sad cause I can't handle it. Do you guys think worth to have something to deal with it?
Regards.
I have 2 Act of Aggression(SB) mainly for tron but also works against Mirran Crusader
Sorry, I'm blind.
Do you play mana dorks?
Surrak is nice for surprise burst, but the real Evolution MVP for me is Thrun. Sometimes you lose card advantage by going EE(Avatar) -> Thrun, but a lot of decks just can't beat Thrun, and you can do it after combat (bluffing buffs).
Like you said young wolf is a difficult choice, evolving just for Baloth/Dungrove/Ram-Gang is not worth it imho, but wolf enables Melira, Finks from the board or even Scooze against GY matchups. I need more testing on this.
Also agree on drawing 3 EE sucks, but it is a slim chance, maybe we should run 3 EE max.
I really like the card, like StompBee said it enables a "Toolbox Stompy", at least for sideboard, with few silver bullets, without diluting our plan too much(retaining the burst).
So far it looks promising, I'll continue with my tests and post results later. Feel free to add any suggestion, particularly good creatures against Merfolk or Tron?.
6. Have you guys considered card draw for this deck? Or some source of gas when we are out of threats?
Cards like these Courser of Kruphix Irresistible Prey Life's Legacy Momentous Fall this may be contradicting my statement about 4 cmcs, but it is an example.
Evolutionary Leap? It's kinda bad in multiples but could be an option as pseudo protection/draw

I'm testing something similar:
4 Experiment One
4 Narnam Renegade
4 Geenbelt Rampager
4 Strangleroot Geist
4 Avatar of the Resolute
2 Greenwheel Liberator
4 Rancor
Instants 10
4 Vines of Vastwood
2 Aspect of Hydra
2 Blossoming Defense
2 Dismember
4 Mishra's Bauble
Lands 20
10 Forest
2 Treetop Village
4 Verdant Catacombs
4 Windswept Heath
This is extremely consistent at triggering revolt with the addition of Mishra's Bauble. Need more testing, don't know if scooze or liberator is better maindeck, and not sure on the amount of aspects/blossomings, but really like it so far.

Yes, there will be times when you won't be able to proc revolt, that's why I think it could be good maybe as 2-off
Now this card... This one has potential to open discussion about fetches, splashing and maybe even young wolf
Would you recommend this list in a removal light (almost 0 decks with bolt) meta? Or maybe the same but Prowlers instead of Young Wolf?
Why Vault Skirge instead of something more aggresive like Bromat Courier or another goblin?
It really depends on your meta. Mine is full of 2/x so that 1 thougness is really important. Tuskerr also survives pyroclasm, kozilek's return, kolaghan's command, electrolyze and few others
Maindeck/Sideboard? How many?

This is roughly the list i'm testing now

2 Leatherback Baloth
1 Surrak, the Hunt Caller
1 Thrun, the Last Troll
20 Forest
2 Treetop Village
Non-Creature Spells (14)

Evolutionary Leap? It's kinda bad in multiples but could be an option as pseudo protection/draw
