That's a weird selection of dudes.
As for recommendations, Drake/Kanye are always on the table. 2 chainz is probably the best at what he does, but YG, Rich Homie Quan, Migos are all similar. Rae Srummurd, Fetty Wap, Ty Dolla Sign are all kinda like softer/more banger oriented 2 Chainz-y guys. As for A$AP Rocky, his new album is pretty unique in that it blends a lot of psychedelic rock stuff and he even samples/fts rod stewart on one of his songs. I'm not really a big fan, but there isn't really any easy comparison. You might like A$AP Ferg, Schoolboy Q, SpaceGhostPurp, Danny Brown. Idk those are loose comparisons.
As far as recommendations for a guy that likes Kendrick; it's really really easy. Start with Nas. They are basically the same guy. Music that addresses the social issues that concern black people in and out of the hood, using a style that's part anecdote part screenplay. Another guy that fits this mold would be Mos Def(Black on Both Sides is probably the most overlooked classic in rap history). Other guys that kinda fit the Kendrick-style, but are less social issue oriented and more anecdote than screenplay would be Freddie Gibbs(Pinata is his best Album) and Pusha T(also in a group with his brother named Clipse). Push even worked with Kendrick on the great Nosetalgia off of My Name Is My Name.
@Zuko, yeah man you fell off the face of the planet. Also 2014 really destroyed this thread.
Demetrius Johnson showed why he's the king.
Both Pettis' looked no good.
Last season: Second Season of Haikyuu!, Second Season of Noragami, Lupin reboot
This season: Boku dake ga Inai Machi, Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, Hai to Gensou no Grimgar, Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko: Everything Flows, 2nd season of shiraiyuki
Next season: Boku no Hero Academia, Flying Witch, Sakamoto desu ga?, Tonkatsu DJ Agetarou, Joker Game, Kuma Miko, Ushio to Tora season 2, More Jojo if you are caught up.
I didn't get into Ajin because I wasn't a huge fan of the manga, but I really liked the last anime that studio did, Sidonia no Kishi, which I thought looked perfectly fine. But you're definitely not alone in hating CG in anime. I personally like it for the most part, but I know I'm the minority.
I think there are 4 legitimately good shows this season(and 2 of those are better than good so far). If you count the sequels, you could make a case for Shirayuki, which is somewhere on the line of decent and good depending on how you feel about shoujo romance. If you count shorts, it's 6. That's how many good shows were in the last 2 seasons combined(full disclosure: I haven't watched Working season 3, Non Non Biyori season2, or the Lupin reboot, everything else I tried)
For future season info, I use the seasonal anime tab on MAl. Spring has a few of high profile adaptations in Tonkatsu DJ Agetarou, Sakamoto Desu Ga?, Diamond is Unbreakable, Ushio to Tora(second season), Magi Prequel, Boku No Hero Academia(this is gonna be the hype show) and Ace Attorney(this looks like it's gonna be real bad tho). It also has a couple interesting originals. So the season will probably be good. Summer has 4 legitimate 5 star shows already announced:Berserk post Golden Age arc I believe), Amanchu!(adaptation of the new work by the girl that did the Aria series), Orange(adaptation of a VERY good and award nominated manga), Rewrite(Romeo VN adaptation). That's not even including Food Wars sequel or Amaama to Inazuma. Also, there is a bunch of stuff that hasn't been announced yet because there is still a lot of tv time open, which is exciting considering stuff that is confirmed for this year that hasn't been a release date announced yet - Attack On Titan, D. Gray man, Hibike! Euphonium, Handa-kun, Keijo!!!!!!!!. Summer is going to be excellent but it has potential to be the best.
My favorite show this season has been Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu. It's pretty damn good so far. If it stays the course it'll probably be my all-time favorite.
Best shows this season are probably Rakugo>Erased>Grimgar>KonoSuba>Galko.
I feel anime is more popular now than ever before in America. More variety is on mainstream TV and in mainstream stores than ever before. Crunchyroll, Netflix, Hulu all bring subs and dubs to millions of viewers. Dubs are being created faster than ever before and for a bigger variety of shows. The conventions are selling out faster and more often. It's kinda crazy how popular it has gotten.
