I meant Viridian Zealot not Shaman.
But your right Joseph, i started an off-topic discussion about general cubedesign at it doesn't really belong in this thread.
It was just to emphasize how good it is because most people run Viridian Zealot.

My point was that many people will include a card like Viriadan Shaman and won't include this card (that's clearly better) just because of some numbers.
Imo both deserves a spot, and instead of cutting another very good G/W card, the multicolor sections of many cubes should be expanded.
And if you won't expand your cube, cut some monocolored cards instead (like the shaman).

I think this discussion of whether Qasali Pridemage deserves a spot in the cube clearly shows that many cubers have to few multicolored cards in their cubes (imo).
If a card like Viriadan Shaman deserves a spot, so does the Pridemage ofcourse.

The most powerful cards ever printed should be in the cube, and everything under 10 of each multicolor combination is too little imo.

Uhh, this pack makes me certain we are in the correct colors.
Stuffy Doll, Grinning Demon and Broodmate Dragon are all very good picks.
I would take the Stuffy Doll i think. And aiming for pure control. But i'm still not certain though.

You don't use Man-o'-War? It's fantastic. It only has one blue in the cost and it has an immediate impact on the board. Plus, it's amazing with Crystal Shard/Erratic Portal.

Agree. Man-o-war is a must in every cube.

just as i suspected. we took a badlands, and now we feel we simply must go red.

The reason i wrote it like that was because of what you wrote above.
You try to make it sound like the people that take Chain Lightning are stupid, and that they only pick it because we have a Badlands.
That is very wrong, atleast from my perspective.
Even if the last pick was a Bayou, i would probably take the Chain Lightning, because it's powerlevel is way beyond the Harrow.

I can see why people would take the Harrow, as it fits well with our other picks, but so does Chain Lightning.
In the end it's a matter of preference. And i prefer a solid burnspell over a semi-good acceleration spell at any time.

Honestly, I think that Chain Lightning IS the best card in the pack by a wide margin (and this is coming from someone who plays base green decks almost probably something like 75% of the time in Cube). I've definitely first-picked Chain Lightning before, and to see it going pick eight of this draft is very good for us. Harrow is solid, but it's nothing to get too excited about. I honestly rate the card under both Kodama's Reach and Explosive Vegetation, and about on par with Farseek and Search for Tomorrow. The fact that we already have Badlands is just icing on the cake.

    Agree totally.
Chain Lightning is the second best red burn spell ever printed, so saying it sucks is just plain wrong.

Oh, and the Angel is also decent. I would count her as a lategame drop though. Being threecolored does that to spells. Just compare her to Feral Hydra Grin

If you have a decent amount of manafixing i don't think threecolored spells is a problem i aggrodecks.
Woolly Thoctar and Rhox War Monk are good enough imo. They have both seen plenty of play in my playgroup in various threecolored aggro/midrange decks.
A thoctar in turn 2 off a BoP, Noble Hierarch or Mox screams for an imediate answer.

I think Library of Alexandria should go in.
    It's useless late game.

Just shows that you don't understand magic.

There's various options here, but the best card in the pack is Chain Lightning and i don't see why we shouldn't pick that here as we don't have a second color yet.

What do folks think of Fatespinner? It has a unique effect. I just wonder if in this case unique equals good. Someone played it in a causal game last night and I thought it had potential.

    Cheers,

Don't think it's good enough. Try Teferie's Realm if you want something like that. It's unique and way better because it's harder to handle.

I just don't get why you think cards like Hinder" target="blank">Hinder and Dissipate are worse than Absorb/Undermine.

Undermine only shines in certain archetypes like Urb Counterburn, etc. But there it's just imba and very easy splashable.

With Absorb it's ofcourse the same. It only shines in certain archetypes, but there it outclasses most other spells you can add to the deck. The three life are almost always wanted in control.

That said i wouldn't take the two other counterspells i mentioned here out. Just add all four and let the counting begin.

I don't really like the volvers except for the Green and Red one, because they can get flying.
Most of metamind's suggestions are good imo.

Btw: If you didn't see my edit last post i said that i didn't agree on Absorb, Undermine and Savage Twister. They should stay in the cube imo.

With the multi/hybrid section you should just make a section for each colorcombo and make it 10 cards in total. Some colors will have 5/5 while others will have 7/3. But that is fine imo.
