wtwlf123 posted a message on [KLD] Inventors' FairI think the card would be great if the activation didn't require metalcraft as well. I like the card, but it seems like it'll be inconsistent and kinda hard to break.Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
I'm crossing my fingers for a red-aligned land that works with artifacts. -

From white, all those cards are really solid. But there's so many good 3-drops that I could maybe see Spiritkeeper getting bumped at some point just due to the 1WW cost. But man, all the white 3-drops are great, including that one.
In blue, Treasure Cruise might get cut at some point, but it's been doing relatively well and will likely stay around for at least a little while.
In black, I could see myself cutting Pain Seer if we got some more great 2-drops.
In red, only Swiftspear is close to the block, but we'd need a lot of good 2-power 1-drops to get printed before it would be axed.
For green, I could see Nissa maybe getting cut if I removed the super-ramp package, but she's a solid enough contributor to that deck that she'll be around as long as it is.
All the new Tribrid cards and Ugin are pretty safe. -

BenBleiweiss posted a message on [[Official]] Legacy Huge GainersPosted in: Market Street Café ArchiveQuote from S.M.Interesting, everyone's beloved vendor (scg) yanked theirs off the site yesterday...and a few other butchers did as well, that glitch had a few jumping for sure then on the subject. I figured it was a joke as with the millions of copies floating around....yeah $20 bucks for a Judgement copy of a fringe card that's in Legacy
Wildfire393 got to this before I did, so he pointed out the large number of decks that run 4x this card main deck. In addition, the spoiling of Waste Not has drawn a lot of casual interest in efficient, controllable discard spells from the non-tournament player.
Moreover - I'd like to address the statement you made about our website. From a logic perspective - why would we both yank all copies of a card off our website, and raise the price? That does not make any business sense - once the price is up (market price), we'd want to sell them at the market price. We're in the business of selling Magic cards, not holding the federal reserve
FWIW - I raised the price on these Sunday after Ebay and TCGplayer were hitting $20 a copy. I plan on selling any copies we get in at $15, which is where I think Cabal Therapy will settle after the hype. See also: Sensei's Divining Top, Enlightened Tutor, Aether Vial, Remand, Ancient Tomb, and Goblin Lackey (UCs from sets that had comparable print runs to Judgment that are in the $10 to $20 range). There's a precedent for this value for an UC in Legacy hitting the $10-$20 range once it's played in multiple decks.
(Not going to throw in FOW or Wasteland here, because they are both a lot more ubiquitous than these other UCs I put in the previous paragraph). -

I could pick up a gimmick as an excuse (I made all my cards full art, modern frame or something).
I'm scared someone calls me out on it, essentially. Plus I'll feel like it devaluates awesome cubes if anyone can just proxy one up. I can see it as being insulting to you guys. -

Buuhhh! This is the best set since Zendikar. I need your review.

The perfect cards to compare are Nature's Chant and Qasali Pridemage. Both cards cost 2 mana, but one is very restrictive and the other is very easy to cast. If you were guaranteed to cast both cards at all times most people would agree that the pridemage is better (i hope). But because of the casting cost you would never play Pridemage in a Gruul deck, but you could play the Chant almost as easy as in a Selesnya deck.
Where I think it's healthy to have some multi cards is that Pridemage is better than Chant in a Selesnya deck, and thus fits better in the Selesnya section of my cube.
If I don't have room for a hybrid card in the multi section I see if it fits one of the colors better. For instance Dryad Militant is in my White section - I don't support green aggro, so it fits perfectly as a white card, with a random ability that says it can be played with G as well.

Ugh. A little late to the party here. I didn't know any of this until i read this post.
I will not remove already existing art in my cube. But even though I like Therese Nielsens art, I will definitely think about it in the future if I have options to add other art. I will just vote with my own wallet and support other artists instead. I won't own any play mat with her art. I won't own any prints, etc. It probably won't make a difference, but whatever little helps.

As one that remembers the discussion fondly, and was in the Absorb-love camp back then.

I’ll tey some more cards, but don’t think they’ll stay for long.

It's both fun, and worked very well in my skullclamp deck (I know skullclamp is good with many cards...).

Thanks.
I chose to remove Force Spike over Daze. And we didn't have great results with Aetherling - Blue is so hard to cut cards from...
I'll definately look in to trying out Dragonlord and Abrupt decay as these two sections in my cube are a bit lacking anyway.

Drool! Gratz. So pretty, but unfortunately too expensive for me at the moment. I have to wait for the next crash to aquire A/B blue duals, lotus, moxes and blue power.

I waited for a reprint because of the old art and the price.
I luckily had both so just purchased one - it’s on its way. When it arrives I’ll take a pic for you.

(Unfortunately also 3 of the expensive ones - A/B Badlands you have a target on your back).
