[QUOTE=socalpsych;/comments/8454823]I think you answered your own question. One sold for $85 on the low end and one sold for $340 (not $450) on the high end. Current BIN prices are in the $200-$250 range.
Estimating a value of $200-$240 would be safe.[/]
One sold for 430, but that was a fluke as well. Anyway, you're looking at around $200. Watch this next about to close for a better idea.
No, Land Tax is pretty slow and bad. I wouldn't expect it to do super well. I'm sure it'll be fine, but I don't see anything Tier 1 coming out of it. Legacy is too fast for this card. You're not fighting Drain-Landstill anymore.

I don't know. I think there will be a fair amount of VERY GOOD decks that will surface with this unbanning. Parfait lockdown/hoser decks will find a place. The interaction with scroll rack and mox diamond does make it a bit faster. Now with Thalia alongside Thorn of Amethyst, Trinisphere, or Sphere you could even see some strong TaxStax builds. Dropping turn 2 Humility or Moat will slow down a lot of decks. It interacts well with miracle as well.
All I'm saying is that there will be some nice builds out there and possibly a Tier 1 deck will come from it. I will be testing it myself this week.
Actually, checking ebay buy it nows and tcgplayer low end, Sigarda is still $10. Also sigarda is GW, and thusly would need to be played in a deck playing both Green and White. A mono white angel has much more flexibility in the different decks it could be played in. Also Sigarda is a 5-drop, which is an odd place to be these days given the titans and other higher cost creatures that are seeing a lot of play at the moment.
Something like, lets say, Hero of Bladehold, would likely be a better comparison, both being mythics, both being 4-drops, both having strong affects to them, both being white and not another color.
Just my thoughts on the topic.
Sigardas are closing consistently under $8. You need to stop looking at BIN that people are NOT buying. That isn't the true representation of value. Regardless, you're comparing a less drafted Mythic from a middle set that really has nothing to do with your previous statement of it being an angel. If you really want to talk about an angel with the exact same casting cost, rarity, and draft frequency...then let's compare sublime to, well, Indomitable Archangel. What are those going for right now?
The problem with comparing snapcaster and this card, are that this card is firstly an angel, in an environment where angels have been pushed which is only going to add to the amount of people looking to pick up angels for their collection or to play with. And its a mythic, in a set that is likely to be openned quite a bit less than innistrad was. Thusly I wouldnt be surprised if, after all is said and done, there are only about a 3rd as many of the angels available as there are snapcasters available in the overall supply. Will the angel keep its current price? I honestly couldnt tell you, its nice, but its also not exactly baneslayer, though post rotation and without titans, praetors, and everything else that will be rotating out, the card could be the bomb 4-drop for token/smaller creature decks that could put such decks over the top (even moreso than they are likely to allready be if block was any indication. That said, I expect it to settle around $10-$15 when all is said and done. The demand pool for the card is going to be large enough to keep it at, at least, $10, and if it performs well, it could go higher.
I don't know, look at Sigarda...which arguably is a better card, an angel, and mythic.
The card has climbed up to 5th in Planechase 2 singles value.
Although there are a lot of downsides to a 2 CMC, 2 color 1/1 creature, I'm very pleased with Baleful Strix long term potential. The cantrip works very well with Ninjitsu or any blink abililties, and for many decks which rely on deathtouch as removal will replace Tidehollow Strix. There are concerns with competitive applicability to legacy for competitive play but for casual play I'm seeing it more and more, and folks who don't have one picking them up, especially with all the blink effects from AVR. Until a reprint, once initial supply exhausts demand and possibly lowers prices a bit more, I would predict a steady increase. Depending on the format (standard) I could see some additional demand on the reprint as well (although not enough to hold a $4 price).
Thoughts?
Are you being sarcastic when you say that there are a lot of downsides to this card?
Anyway...barring a reprint, this will stay around $3 for a while. This was a 4-of in the top 16 Starcity Legacy Tezz Control this past weekend.
I think this card is very overrated. She costs 4 which is good, I could be wrong, but there's a lot going against it for $20.
We have to remember that she's only a 5/4 flyer for 4 if she attacks alone, and in many board states her controller isn't going to want to do that. Have a bunch of creatures just to get +1 per creature is sometimes worse if you have 2+ power creatures. The Exalted tactic is also much more susceptible to removal and blocking.
There may be a build that has her with Geist or Stalker as a control theme, but with so many other contenders for the 4 CMC slot she may not make the cut. The 3 toughness is also a downside, less for standard but certainly in Modern and older formats which is very relevant for purposes of market discussion.
Compare this with Restoration Angel at 4 which has Flash and a very powerful ETB effect, I think she'll come down significantly after release.
This. I don't think she will stay above $10-12 for long.
Depends how old. Azusas something like 35+ from what I can tell. Zur and Azami are over 40. Many other popular generals are 10-20.
All those ones you mentioned can be had for around $20 on ebay and I've actually grabbed them for under $20 recently.
The one's that are really expensive are the generals that are used in other formats other than EDH and older rarer ones. For example Hanna is old and rare and it commands a $25 pricetag. Foil Elesh Norn is used heavily in other formats, thus $35.

She sits at around $7-8 right now.
Do you assume there is only one format?
Think about universal playability...standard is the only place lightning bolt isn't used.
I deal heavily in foreign foils. Your best bet on value is ebay and MKM for euro foils.
Also remember that certain languages are more desirable in different countries.
Again, there is no real formula. Check ebay often for answers.
EDIT: Foil Japanese Caverns can be had for less than $75.
...and that's why she'll get bolted.
3 toughness = bad for a 4 drop.

Goyf is still strong in Legacy...RUG builds are VERY prevalent.
For sure...Target has like 20 intro decks with Foils just sitting there. $12 for the entire deck.
Anyway, he's your frickin brother...trade him the Mastery and then beat him up and take it back!
