has Oubliette been ruled out of the crunch? I hope they reprint this card as this is also needed in Pauper, even if they do it here as an uncommon. But this too is a great reprint.
not yet, still crunch between mikaeus and reanimate
I would be so happy if Oubliette was reprinted in this set for Pauper reasons, to be a little less expensive than it is now. I don't think it would be bad in a Limited environment even at common, but due to "scarcity" I can see them upshifting it just because.
I'm not sure. Oubliette currently cost 17 dollars for played condition; or more (29 to 50 dollars) if your looking for perfect condition. Historically (and if you look at the past on wizards reprints), they would upgrade the rarity to a uncommon or a rare. This has nothing to do with drafting, this is because wizards don't want to hurt the secondary market. If that's the case, I would believe the reprint could remove Oubliette from pauper format.
reprints doesn't remove legality from pauper, lighning bolt is still legal even if it was reprinted as UC various times.
a reprint for oubliette would greatly help pauper player to aquire it and the value of the original arabian nights ones would not be hurt a lot, I think a UC reprint can be still considered fair
can open the same guildgate in the same booster twice, and it means 5 less new commons... Interesting.
no common slot "stolen" considering that basic lands are not counted inside the set numbers, and probably the gate will take the land slot in boosters (like the taplands in m19) to ease limited fixing
So...
selesnya has again trostani and emmara
boros has again tajic and aurelia
dimir has again lazav
izzet has again niv-mizzet
only golgari had some real changes
the Niv-Mizzet reprint is the Guild Kit, not GRN, same for Aurelia
I've not seen any mention or spoiler about Trostani and Lazav
right now the only 2 returning character we've seen are Emmara and Tajic + Ral and Vraska
Tricolor decks using the characters you suggest as commanders are possible, but I think their color identities would need to be a bit different. Tevesh Szat didn't seem G at all, he was probably UB or UBR. And Windgrace just has to be B.
Saying that Windrace MUST be B just because Urborg is currently a swamp it's a bit of a stretch.
Urborg was a lush forest before the Sylex Blast, home of the panther warriors, RG are possibly a given, but I think he can be closer to W as a Lord to his people and reflecting his actions and sacrifice to close the Urborg Rift during Time Spiral.
In addition to lore a Naya PW commander to mechanically tie in cat people is more likely than Jund.
Doesn't this only partially hose tron as the other lands still see Urza's Tower on the battlefield and still produce 2? The tower would loze it's type and ability but not it's name, otherwise this enchantment would stop working. So an opponent would still have 5 mana with tron and you would just color fix any spells they have like nature's claim. This just seems bad compared to blood moon.
No, this stops Tron, the ability checks the lands type not the name so a Tower under Alpine Moon's effect is no longer a Urza's Tower (type)
The promos are the same art for every cards except the walkers. They did this before with the WB Conspiracy 2 walker. To give you an estimate of price difference;
Kaya, Ghost Assassin normal art = $9.99
Kaya, Ghost Assassin Foil = $119.99
Cause you know foils last longer to play and are better than non-foils? Oh wait....
The difference between Kaya and Will&Rowan is that Kaya was an alternate art for the foil version in the boosters, so a foil of a mythic rare (extremely rare); W&R will be alternate art for a release promo cards distribuited at every LGS in good numbers, it's possible that the alternate arts will end being cheaper because easier to obtain
Am I missing something? whre have we seen an alternate Okaun/Zndrsplt art?
the thread of their spoiler (HERE) has the date-stamped cards and the art is the same as the official spoiler, so it seems that the only alt-art date-stamped are the PW-twins
wow so at this point we can get planeswalker prints that can say "can be your commander"
so myth busted "can be your commander" is not commander product exclusive
It's a single exception on mythic that alredy uses another mechanics tied to commander (partner). It would have been stranger to have them with partner but nit the commander clause
Oh, I just realized the paragraph is meant that the "exceptions" are reprints from sets not taking place on Dominaria... so it's not anything from Benalia or Lat-Nam.
Weird, I thought Goblin Warchief was first printed in one of the tribal sets set on Otaria.
It was.
I think you're trying to infer a dependency between the two sentences in that paragraph when none was meant.
"I tried to keep as many reprints as possible from sets previously on Dominaria, although we ended up with a few exceptions: one cycle of cards, one card that felt at home here, and one card I wanted here with a set mechanic that we gave a new name. Two of the reprints I was most pleased to personally discover in searches and add to the set were Goblin Warchief and an innocuous common white creature that fit both thematically and mechanically."
The first sentence mentions that he made what was likely seven exceptions to the 'Dominaria first printing' preference (a cycle plus two). The second sentence is two reprints he was happy with. This does not mean the two reprints he was happy with are among the seven exceptions. They're among the greater set that is 'Things they chose to reprint'.
if the exceptions are limited to the first sentence (7 cards) I think that the spoiler of Gilded Lotus closes them:
one cycle (5 cards): Innistrad check lands
one that feels at home: Mirrodin Gilded Lotus (it's a lotus, it's history)
one with a set mechanic but a new name: Zendikar Into the Roil became Blink of an Eye
It's fun to see how everyone always whine about mythics when staples cards are printed in MR slots pointing out the original "mythics are important and splasy cards and not tournament staples", but also whine about cards printed in MR slots stating "why is this mythic, it's not worth to play".

3 for the main set (Jaya, Teferi and Karn)
2 for the PW decks (Chandra and Teferi)
don't think it is. Jhoira's Familiar is type Bird, and the focus of the image is clearly the cat
