I've been testing the deck today and found something that it really needs: Glare of subdual.
This card is an engine for my deck while also a defensive layer to stop almost anything. I've tested it today and it's going to stay in my deck from now to the future.
I played against a tokens deck and with that I could tap all their dudes while attacking with copters ftw. Also I was able to tap an early emrakul and prevent from being attacked and anihilated while my tokens finished the opponent. Seroiusly I can't describe how good it is and how much fun I'm having now with my list!!!
I don't want to be "that guy" but why are you playing an strange sisters deck if you can play a real sisters deck? Archangel of thune, the sisters, you could play ajani pridemate and all the other sisters deck cards then. Don't want to sound rude, forgive me if it could sound like that. I only was wondering that your deck is like a sisters deck with chord of calling and emmara. Perhaps it could be a new form of that deck? Have you tested purphoros, god of the forge?? It can finish the game really fast!!
About my list. I've been testing it with black and I like Night Market Lookout a lot!!! It recovers life, ping the opponent and is cheap!! In lesser extent King Macar, the gold-cursed is a target of removal with legs. If he survives wreacks havoc in the opponent's side but all games I've played it, all he has died before untapping.
About Pain Seer, I had hopes on it but he doesn't belong in this deck, at least in the form it is right now. If you draw a conclave, a hussar, etc you are losing lot of life in the process so right now I can't find room for him.
Also I've tried venerated loxodon and again he dissapointed me. Very expensive for an effect that doesn't end the game and easy to remove.
About the mana dorks, I really don't like them. In fact I'm playing them because I want oketra's monument and Stonybrook Schoolmaster ASAP. Anyways I would like to find something to replace them that helps the deck and contributes with the gameplan. If only there were another 1 drop that benefits from being tapped!!!!!
Also looking at the following cards: Dragonscale general --> This guy will transform any of our tokens into a great monster. If you bolster into a soldier token from emmara you can win life races very easily. Masako the Humorless --> This girl lets you block with everything and has flash for nice combat tricks town gossipmonger --> another 1 drop that wants to tap things!! Famished Paladin --> Can be good if I up the count of things that give me life Phyrexian ironfoot --> If I use some snow-covered lands this guy could be useful then. wake trasher --> Can be really big when you have some board presence.
Jund has lot of targeted removal so your little dudes are easy to kill. I was wondering that without any mana dork your angel usually will come very late (5 mana or chord for 8!!) so although your gameplan sounds very appealing, I'm not sure if this is the way to go. Also tricolor manabase has to be a nightmare against decks with fast blood moons, isn't it? Anyways I also like your way and the sisters synergy
In my list I've be forced to include a couple of conclave tribunal due to the fact that today I've been playing against a emrakul reanimator deck. I need an answer for him, but more away, I need an universal answer for anything so I've included a couple of them (and 2 more in side) so I have now 8 exile removal between MD and SDB.
Also I'm thinking about if there are any other WTT creature I've passed on. Searching the only ones I see seem bad:
Thanks for your answer! I can't agree with you on that. I believe that this alternate plan doesn't dilute the deck, more over I think it complements the gameplan. There is not much WTT good creatures in WG, and i.e. being able to cast the schoolmaster for two and having two tokens (one with vigilance) in that turn sometimes is pretty good. Also the lions have served me in lot of games to save emmara and/or master and continue creating our private party. Also you can flash the lion for W (with monument), create a token with vigilance, tap the lion and return it to your hand and this sometimes is gamechanging.
Also I forget to mention that in my latest iteration of the deck I'm testing a singleton divine visitation to do really absurde things. I haven't included it in the list because is something I'm still testing but for the rest of the list is very solid.
I'm playing my own version of the deck and it's being a blast to play while also being funny. I played with my list lot of games against other kitchen table decks (WU wizards, tokens,...) and other not kitchen ones (Runaway Red, dredgevine,..) and have good results till now being able to win lot of games.
Before posting my list I have to tell two things:
1) I don't want to use alarm in this deck. Of course it lets you to go infinite in some games but right now there isn't enough cards to let you search/complement that plan in a suitable way. Only 4 alarms is not enough and finding them sometimes is hard. Also right now, with that many assassin's trophy over there I don't want to rely in one card to base my gameplan on it because most of the times is a fail.
2) My deck is different enough because as you can see in the following list the plan is more being wide/tall but not going to infinite because most of the times it's not neccessary at all.
As you can see the deck is not going to infinite but this is not needed most of the time. Also it can wins through an ensnaring bridge easily and goes wide very fast. We have plenty of cards that want to be tapped and lot of more to tap. The deck can go tall with bramblesnap being able to be as big as anything on the table, or ormendhal if needed and being wide with all the amount of tokens it can produce. Also has lot of card advantage and selection (hussar and copter) and some removal too in form of paths.
The deck has 13 cards that let you tap creatures for free and 11 WTT creatures (Would be great having more but best next ones are in black so after testing them I decided that not including a third color was better).
So if you want, test my list and don't forget that any advice or suggestion is welcome
I've been playing for a time, a WR deck, that is could look similar to this one, with good results. My list is more focused on tokens but has also the combo approach. It is not mardu also and I don't play Iona nor Nahiri but other things to improve my game plans.
In my deck I'm using windbrisk heights to cheat the big monsters or the divine visitations (which are the other win con) so for each token spell I play, I get a bunch of angels, while being possible to cast them in long games. Only playing 2 because they are useless in multiples but in the games I've played the visitations I've won.
When Indomitable Creativity was spoiled I realized how good it should be in my tokens deck so I changed to Wr without regreting it. Also faithless looting gives you some manipulation so makes the deck more consistent.
I've always doubting and testing one or the other between Ulamog, The Ceaseless Hunger and blightsteel Colossus. Each one gives you an alternative win con to beat infinite lifes. Right now I'm playing Ulamog because with heights you can cast it, so you have the chance to exile two permanents when you do it. Anyways both options are good enough.
Finally in my SDB I have 1 platinum emperion and 1 gideon against combo and the so. I've always be tempted to play more gideons (more types of gideons also) because they are also very good.
Still trying to improve some things of the deck altough right now it works really fine. First of all I have to cut 5 cards MD. Every card has it's own purpose so I'm not really sure what to cut there.
I'm doubting a lot with cryptbreakers. They are card advantage in middle game and benefits a lot from a training grounds, but they only create one or two tokens usually and I found myself using it in conjuntion with the tokens to draw cards and pinging me in the process. I'm not sure if there are better options for the one drop slots. The zombie thematic was mostly used for them but not sure if they worthwhile. While stitcher's Suppliers are performing really good giving me fuel for Marshal, tasigur and the god, the cryptbreakers are not making a jood job after all. I'm thinking on replacing them with one of the following candidates:
Yesterday I tested the deck and I'm very happy with it. I had to do some changes and tweak some numbers but right now I think I have a good list. This is:
The changes I've made is including again mindshrieker because it has great synergy with training grounds but also with Grave Marshal. So now the deck has 12 creatures that become absurd with training grounds and that helps each other and are independent because pack rat requires cards in hand, minshrieker requires cards in library and Grave Marshal cards in graveyard so you have three angles of attacking and also each plan fuels the others.
I've reduced a lot the plan of attacking opponent's graveyard because sometimes is irrelevant and others doesn't affect the game a lot. Anyways I've kept 1 Shred Memory because It also has the ability of search any of my threats or any removal. It's more versatile although I'm not sure if using beseech the queen would be better. Also there is the new tutor of ravnica but not being able to search also for the ilusion is another handicap. What do you think??
The deck is really fun and can do some gross things. I.e. in a game yesterday against a 8 rack deck, I drew a mindshriek, and under a ensnaring bridge I could attack with my 1/1 and finished the opponent in one only swing.
Another one was against a rock deck. I created 8 zombie tokens with marshal and he was not able to find a maelstrom pulse, so died under a zombie army.
I'm also thinking if aether vial should be useful in the deck to put my threats at instant speed (so zombies and rats can attack in the turn I want them to do). In paper it seems good because I can play it in the fist turn and sit on two to play almost everything. THe issue is that is useless in mid game and is not a creature. What do you think??
Is anybody also interested in this deck? I think it's good and really fun so I reccomend you to test it!!
I've been testing other versions of the deck and find a new course for the deck. After thinking a lot I'm more convinced that a zombie subtheme would complement the deck a lot. In that way, the combo of kalitas, traitor of ghet + training grounds + gravecrawler + other zombie is more feasible.
Also happens that zombies have nice cards that can take advantage of training grounds and also will have great synergy with the sacarab god.
This new list can clog the board easily while being able to disrupt the opponent. Also creatures are right on themselves but much better with training grounds Which is great.
I'm going to test this list extensively to adjust some numbers but right now it works good.
The deck is a blast and right now can finish games out of nowhere. The only issue here is that is almost the only durable creature so it is going to eat all the removal of the world. Also I should cut 5 cards at least but right now I'm testing which are the better ones to be cut (suggestions are welcome).
Also thinking if cards like assault strobe, fling, etc. would fit here, but I always disliked those cards.
Also greater gargadon could fit in the deck although it's not a red spell on it' s own and will not benefit the steam-kin. In the same way lightning coils could be added as a finisher but don't know if it worthile because at that cost you probably are in the step of refilling your hand and this card therefore can be slow.
Other nitche useful card should be jinxed idol that would be great against light creature decks or to avoid cards like leyline of sanctity although it doesn't affect our deck anyways. Another interesting cards would be Ogre Battledriver, Hazoret's Favor and so on but they are high CC so probably doesn't worth it.
Sideboard is full of silver bullets to combat tier decks and is working relatively good.
Because we have 4 tutors MD it's easy to find the right cards in time , because of that so much elementals in SDB.
The only problem I'm facing right now is that I usually play against a friend of mine with a U wizards deck and he plays 4 master of waves which is awful against our deck (pro-red and fills the table with lot of blue tokens). Any advice to improve in this aspect without diluting the gameplan should be great!!
What do you think? Any suggestion is really welcome!!
While I'm strill trying to finish my training rats deck ()
the spoilers of new ravnica comes out and find that Runaway Steam-Kin was a gem I wanted to test and break. Also since Alara (and even before) I've always wanted to build a tribal elemental deck. Lot of time ago I tested versions with Incandescent Soulstoke * and nova chasers but although they were super duper funny decks, they lacks competitivity.
Well, after reading the new Spoiler I knew that I wanted to build a deck to exploit it so began to brew lot of lists and test them. I read articles like but don't want a inconsistent deck.
After lot of refinements I'm right now playing the following list with moderate success. I like it a lot so I'm writing here for if anybody is interested in a deck like mine.
Tested the green version but not very good results. The mana base was horrible and sometimes I found training grounds in my hand without any source to cast it
Also although new creatures were good with TG, having so much green for colossus was a hard task.
Jade mage and feral hydra were good but at least the hydra was a easy kill vanilla monster and colossus were removed all day long so again not convinced on this new version.
I've been looking for more black / blue creatures to use in this deck that were as good as pack rats are. Any idea is really welcome!!!
All this three cards can be obscene if you have some green to play them and brutal if you have lot of green. The problem would be to build the deck in order to have as much black and as much green as you can while having blue also for grounds and the scarab god.
Beside of that, colossus have nice synergy with the pack rats and with the scarab god which is nice
So now I have problems with manabase. I was thinking on including some birds of paradise and noble hierarch (or arbor elf) and fill the manabase with Green-X lands and 4 urborg for having lot of black too.
I've tested the combo and mindshrieker and both of them dissapoint me. The combo is not consistent and need to waste lot of slots in the deck. Mindshrieker is not bad but also is not good. I'm going to try new toys. I'm thinking in:
The shapesharer counts as a zombie and a rat, so pack rat and the scarab god benefits from it and also it can copy any big bad boy in the table to do obscene things.
The Ludevic's test subject can be converted using 5 mana (thanks to TG) and you have a massive 13/13 trampler. Meanwhile it can chumpblock little weenees. The good thing is that you can convert it at instant speed. The bad is that it requieres lot of blue mana.
Mindshrieker is something I'm testing right now. Not very great.
Walking ballista could be a good addition too. And gross with TG, but again not sure about it.
Another things that could fit are hex parasite against affinity and planeswalkers.
This card is an engine for my deck while also a defensive layer to stop almost anything. I've tested it today and it's going to stay in my deck from now to the future.

2 Throne of the god-pharaoh
Creatures (25)
4 Noble Hierarch
2 Birds of Paradise
4 Emmara, Soul of the Accord
3 Oreskos Sun Guide
4 Stonybrook Schoolmaster
2 Bramblesnap
3 Whitemane Lion
3 Sky Hussar
2 March of the Multitudes
4 Path to exile
Lands(21)
2 Survivors' encampment
3 Shefet Dunes
2 Gavony Township
1 westvale Abbey
4 Razorverge thicket
4 Windswepth Heath
2 Temple Garden
2 Plains
1 Forest
As you can see the deck is not going to infinite but this is not needed most of the time. Also it can wins through an ensnaring bridge easily and goes wide very fast. Synergies:
Smuggler's Copter + any want to tap (from now WTT) creature .
bramblesnap + any WTT creature
Sky Hussar + any WTT creature
Oketra's monument + any creature
Oketra's monument + whitemane Lion (lot of tokens here)
Throne of the god-pharaoh + all your creatures (direct damage)
shefet Dunes /gavony township : finishers. Upgrade all 1/1 into 2/2 or bigger.
The deck has 13 cards that let you tap creatures for free and 11 WTT creatures (Would be great having more but best next ones are in black so after testing them I decided that not including a third color was better).

4 Raise the Alarm
4 Lingering Souls
4 Spectral Procession
4 Gather the Townsfolk
3 Path to Exile
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Faithless Looting
4 Intangible Virtue
2 Divine Visitation
4 Indomitable Creativity
1 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
1 Ulamog, The Ceaseless Hunger
3 Sacred Foundry
4 Flagstones of trokair
4 Windbrisk heights
1 Godless Shrine
3 Rugged Prairie
1 Mountain
1 Plains
1 Shefet Dunes
2 Rest in Peace
2 Stony Silence
2 Timely Reinforcements
2 Wear // Tear
2 Alpine Moon
2 Path to Exile
1 Settle the wreckage
1 Platinum Emperion
1 gideon of the trials
In my deck I'm using windbrisk heights to cheat the big monsters or the divine visitations (which are the other win con) so for each token spell I play, I get a bunch of angels, while being possible to cast them in long games. It's working really nice now although I feel it can be refined a bit right now.
My current list is:
4 Cryptbreaker
4 Stitcher's Supplier
4 Graveyard Marshal
4 Mindshrieker
4 Pack Rat
4 shriekmaw
1 Fleshbag Marauder
2 The scarab god
2 Tasigur, the golden fang
3 Fatal Push
2 Beseech the Queen
2 Dismember
1 Cast Down
2 Victim of Night
2 mutavault
2 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4 Drowned Catacomb
2 Watery Grave
4 Swamp
4 Polluted Delta
3 Marsh Flats
Still trying to improve some things of the deck altough right now it works really fine. First of all I have to cut 5 cards MD. Every card has it's own purpose so I'm not really sure what to cut there.

I'm thinking on replacing them with one of the following candidates:
Each of them have a nice usability. Which dou you think is better? Right now I'm interested in the first three of them so I have to test them.
As always any idea or suggestion is welcome!!
4 Cryptbreaker
4 Stitcher's Supplier
2 Relentless Dead
4 Graveyard Marshal
4 Mindshrieker
4 Pack Rat
2 shriekmaw
1 Fleshbag Marauder
2 The scarab god
1 gray merchant of asphodel
3 Fatal Push
1 Shred memory
2 Dismember
1 Cast Down
2 Victim of Night
2 mutavault
2 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4 Darkslick Shores
1 Creeping Tar Pit
4 Watery Grave
4 Swamp
4 Polluted Delta
The changes I've made is including again mindshrieker because it has great synergy with training grounds but also with Grave Marshal. So now the deck has 12 creatures that become absurd with training grounds and that helps each other and are independent because pack rat requires cards in hand, minshrieker requires cards in library and Grave Marshal cards in graveyard so you have three angles of attacking and also each plan fuels the others.
Also because the scarab god and grave Marshal the deck need as much creatures as it can, so because of that, I've included shriekmaw as another piece of removal that have synergy with Grave Marshal and Mindshrieker.
As always, any advice or suggestion is welcome!!
Also happens that zombies have nice cards that can take advantage of training grounds and also will have great synergy with the sacarab god.
The list of zombies (all ) should be:
From this list the most playable ones that also have synergy with the deck are :
From this list, the marshal can do obscene things with a full graveyard and training grounds.
Also we must include the usual suspects for this kind of deck like gravecrawler and stitcher's Supplier
So right now the core of the deck should be:
4 Cryptbreaker
4 Gravecrawler
4 Stitcher's Supplier
4 Relentless Dead
4 Graveyard Marshal
4 Pack Rat
2 kalitas, traitor of ghet
2 The scarab god
1 gray merchant of asphodel
3 Fatal Push
2 Dismember
2 Cast Down
1 Swarmyard
2 mutavault
2 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4 Darkslick Shores
1 Creeping Tar Pit
4 Watery Grave
4 Swamp
2 Bojuka bog
This new list can clog the board easily while being able to disrupt the opponent. Also creatures are right on themselves but much better with training grounds Which is great.
I'm going to test this list extensively to adjust some numbers but right now it works good.
Any advice or suggestion is welcome!!
After changing and testing the new list is the following:
4 Lightning Serpent
4 Flamekin Harbinger
4 Flamekin Bladewhirl
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Runaway Steam-kin
4 Hellspark Elemental
4 The flame of Keld
4 Inner-Flame Acolyte
4 Simian Spirit Guide
3 Become Immense
2 Slithermuse
3 Stomping Ground
4 Copperline Gorge
4 Primal Beyond
4 Cavern of souls
4 Wooded Foothills
1 Fire-Lit thicket
The deck is a blast and right now can finish games out of nowhere. The only issue here is that is almost the only durable creature so it is going to eat all the removal of the world. Also I should cut 5 cards at least but right now I'm testing which are the better ones to be cut (suggestions are welcome).

1 Slithermuse
1 Flame-kin Zealot
1 Spitebellows
4 Copperline Gorge
2 Raging Ravine
4 Primal Beyond
4 Cavern of souls
4 Mountain
As you can see the deck is full of synergy and can take down lot of games with brute force.
Also have some silver bullets (as 1x of) to combat some situations.
What do you think? Any advice is welcome as always
So the list could be something like:
4 typhoid rats
4 Birds of Paradise
2 Arbor Elf
2 Guul Draz Assassin
2 Feral Hydra
2 Jade Mage
4 Pack Rat
4 Nezumi graverobber
2 Chameleon Colossus
2 The scarab god
1 Tasigur, The golden Fang
2 Dismember
3 Cast Down
3 Swarmyard
2 mutavault
4 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4 Overgrown Tomb
4 Verdant Catacombs
3 Forest
1 Swamp
1 Breeding Pool
2 Bojuka bog
What do you think?
Any more ideas or suggestions are welcome
