Magic Market Index: Hit Over Miss

People asking for a 1 or 2 mana version of this card are funny. Clearly the power level of 1-2 mana draw spells goes over some people's heads...

The cultural relevancy of the flavor on these cards is creeping me out. "Enhanced Surveillance", "Disinformation Campaign".
Someone at Wizards deleted his Facebook account...

I'm pretty sure there's a typo in the Chinese flavor text. Just sayin'.

Well, hello there, power creeped creature! Welcome to every format ever... for now.

This WILL be a thing in Legacy with Phyrexian Dreadnought.

  • posted a message on Changes to Evergreen? I.E. Where is Prowess?
I feel like Prowess isn't intuitive enough and too weirdly specific to be evergreen. +1/+1 until end of turn for a noncreature spell is a super specific thing, which means there could be other evergreen keywords that give +(fill in the blank)/+(fill in the blank) every time (fill in the blank) happens. If they made a number more of these, the game would get super confusing. But with Prowess being a thing, it actually makes sense to create more of these abilities evergreen, because there's no reason there should only be a +1/+1 for non-creature spells mechanic.

Therefor, it makes sense to me to strip this mechanic of its evergreen status.

Edit: And of course adding to that is the fact that this mechanic is too powerful on cheap creatures and too weak on expensive ones.

I like It and could not play It is the last 2 months. But have to say that the format could be Better If it had the “combat damage done by the commander” win condition it would be even greater.
Any way, Braw is better than standard.

What is the "combat damage done by the commander win condition"?

  • posted a message on Will Wizards stop producing sets after Ravnica?
I think I might know where the confusion is coming from.
Wizards has said they will stop producing BLOCKS and instead focus on individual sets now. Maybe your friend heard about this from someone else who didn't explain it well, leading to a complete misinterpretation on your friend's part of the direction WotC has recently decided to go in.
It would be a classical example of a real life "telephone game".

I agree with the people saying not adding a dual land cycle is a big big mistake. The decent land cycles included in Core Sets have been their biggest redeeming factor and will probably make it so that this set is going to be extremely unpopular.

Probably the best blue planeswalker ever printed in a Core Set.

I see powercreep has crept it's way into people's minds. This card would be pretty bonkers in a world without Scarab Dogs and Heart of Krillin.

No, it really wouldn't. If this card were any other color it would be made playable, guaranteed.

I think we're arguing two different points here, but here's some context.
Some similar rares from older core sets:
    Vampiric Spirit
    Sengir Vampire
    Fallen Angel
    Bellowing Fiend

Bone Dragon is clearly a very powerful card. It's not particularly interesting from a mythic point of view though. But that's pretty typical for Core Sets.

Hardly fair since both the Angel and Vampire WERE played in top teir decks in original days of printing. Granted the Spirit and Fiend are terrible however, we are looking at black mythics,,, Grave titan, and Obliverator, are where the bar is set to beat not limbo under.

I thought everyone agreed that the Titans were a big draft ruining mistake?

I'll be surprised if this doesn't find it's way into some degenerate Modern, Legacy or Vintage deck.
