So it is kind of haphazard because I don't know much about the meta, aside from Geist of Saint Traft and Ezuri, Renegade Leader apparently being the decks to beat. So I kind of just put together a greatest hits of burn spells with a few answers in the board. What do you guys think?
It is just outclassed by better options now. Swiftspear and Eidolon are just far better creatures.
Swiftspear is pretty good. I don't understand how people don't die to their own Eidolon, but I don't own any so I've never tested it.
Basically all our spells deal 3 or more damage immediately and theirs don't so it's a net gain for us. In fact in Legacy most people play a playset mainboard and Pyrostatic Pillar in the sideboard too.
If I were to pick a colorless source for that deck I'd go with a pain land, so you can still get red if you need it, or Rogue's Passage, because an unblockable Piledriver is a powerful thing. I don't really know what to cut for Reckless Bushwhacker but I agree it should be there. It would want to be played near enough to when Goblin Dark-Dwellers would that it could go there, but then you lose the resilience that card brings to the deck. It really could help you stabilize post Flaying Tendrils or Languish. If I were to take it out, I might want to put in the board for that eventuality.
Nevelo:I think you're right and that I should either commit to black or cut Bloodsoaked and Drana, and I think cutting is probably my better option.
kpal:You're right, I do kind of like that list. I might tweak it a little to better suite my preferences, for example I find Hangarback to be more of a midrange card than an aggro one. Maybe this?
Well firstly because I didn't know it existed, which is a little embarrassing. But it also looks like that deck doesn't like to draw into B until they want to play Kolaghan which, along with the loss of Abbot, might lead to a lot of mana problems early on.
But I mean if you think I should move my deck there I will. Kolaghan seems like a worthwhile addition at the very least.
So I like the Madness mechanic, always have. It's fun to build around and lets you get so much more from your cards. It's also lacking support from the Modern community, and I'd like to see if we can't change that. With that in mind, here's what I've cooked up:
Reckless Wurm: Okay, how about discard that does stuff for us when we chuck it? The first of our two actual Madness cards. 4/4 that tramples for 3? Please!
Brain Gorgers: Madness card #2. So it's no Wurm, but 1B for a 4/2 or forcing a sacrafice isn't bad, especially when you already got something out of the deal.
Gravecrawler: Honorary madness card, as we can cast it from the graveyard provided we have a zombie so we can discard with abandon. And given Lotleth Troll, Brain Gorgers, and Zombie Infestation we probably have a zombie kicking around.
Vengevine: Play 2 creatures and they come out of the graveyard? Well we've got a few low cost creatures and plenty of ways to get it into the graveyard.
Tasigur, the Golden Fang: We're going to have a graveyard full of fetchlands and discard fodder so delve seems solid.
Instants and Sorceries
Faithless Looting: Improvised discard outlet that lets you see more cards.
Abrupt Decay: Solid catchall removal to help stall early game decks.
Zombie Infestation: It's a classic of B madness decks from back in the Odessy days.
The sideboard is pretty much the same as any Jund deck, except I threw in Tainted Remedy for a meta specific lifegain deck I suspect could be trouble and Vexing Shusher to stop control.
So that what I've got. Comments and suggestions appreciated!
Hey, so I had been playing Nevelo's Big Red locally for a while with decent results, though of late I've had issues with people stabilizing off lifegain. So I decided to try splashing black and throwing Tainted Remedy in the board. Here's the whole list:
So anyway I made the changes, but now I'm finding myself out aggro-ed by Atarka variants and Abzan aggro. So do you guys think I've just hit a dead end and should maybe double down and go Atarka's Command, Become Immense, and tokens, or am I maybe on to something here that just needs more tweaking?
I also played Nevelo's list on Friday just with a different sideboard and went 4-0, though almost all the decks I faced were brews so my experiences might not count for much. You could maindeck Heelcutter as a replacement for Phoenix. I found that if Heelcutter was going in that's what usually came out. I found Lightning Berserker to be a good manasink, but wouldn't play a full set unless all my lands could pump it.
Why Complete Disregard over Touch of the Void? I can't think of a 3/4+ creature that Roast doesn't take care of and Touch can be slung at someone plus red is easier to get a hold of than black.
The sideboard is mostly a stab in the dark, and I really want to replace Feed the Clan with something because it will only gain you 10 with Dwynen and Shaman on the field. Naturalize maybe?
So is there a reason nobody seems to be playing Æther Vial? I've re-evaluated my list (pulled coco) and the 2 copies I managed to get a hold of seem to work quite well with our low cost creatures. Is it Kolaghan's Command or the cost or is it just bad?
Hey, so I usually play Burn and I'm looking to play something a little different and Collected Goblins sounds like it might be a cool idea. Anyway I was hoping I could get some advice on my list before I shelled out for the cards I'm missing.

I'm considering Magus of the Moon because it's a Blood Moon that swings for 2 and gets put into play with Collected Company.
I'd throw in another Path. I know it doesn't deal damage like Palm does, but it permanently deals with almost any threat and only costs W.
