Will there be a contest for designing a new MTGSalvation banner (the one at the top of the page!) anytime soon? I think we need a new one, I think I can do better than the one we have, and I would love to participate in such a contest.
It's not up to me, there are powers above me that decide that.
I know you can get printer ink that creates something like the foil effect of MTG cards, but is there a paint that does the same? If so, it would be interesting playing around with that...
Also, for any takers, i got an idea from the Shattering Spree that was posted: Extend the black border of a card to the frame—maybe it would look cool?
Yeah, the stench is troublesome. I bought the exclusive Conflux playmat (you know, the one with Nicol Bolas fighting the four neowalkers), and it also smelled bad. I hoped it would be OK after some time, but well...it's not OK so far.
Spray it with Febreeze?

The pokemon alters are neat and all, but i'd like to see the background behind the pokemon being altered to suit it as well, rather than left blank. Like that Ash that we saw a couple pages back.
I'm not sure if anyone has done this yet, but would it be possible to get some Magic cards made up for the original pokemon? (Meaning 1-151, for starters)
I know a lot of people that have moved from pokemon to mtg over the years, and it would just be very fun to have these cards. Thanks in advance!

Perhaps compile a list of "this pokemon bests fits this card". As well, MSE is free and does let you make card proxies.
I don't think you understand how this game works. You're supposed to find a magic card who's artwork resembles ^'s picture, then post a non-magic card art for everyone to tackle.
Hmmm, whilst she is very well executed, her left eye is waaay to far to the right, like a good 5-10mm imho. Other than that, 10/10. Though it would have been sweet on an eternal witness.

Short, simple, to the point. Hurts ya one turn. That's pretty bad. Whatever.

* doesn't really hurt, just a meager drawback. Note: next as in the land after this one. Since you'd have to tap a land for mana to honor the "next".

with ^, you can play a 2 drop or a 1 drop on T1. Too good imho. Whatever.
So what makes a drawing a Vangaurd avatar? is it just an alternate art that only has the creature in its picture?
Pretty Much. It's also the creature you choose, most Vanguard cards are of prominent characters in Magic Lore, but that's not necessary this time around.
@ Yawg07 and CardKitty — To replicate the yellow line, why not make a template? Like, cut the rectangle out of a piece of sheet plastic, lay it over top and paint away? [would have to wait till paint is dry naturally. Plastic sheet so you can see.]
