It also works great with Impromptu Raid, allowing you to keep your hasted creatures.
Premise: Impromptu Raid and Ooze Garden. Use the Impromptu Raid to get a big creature out to attack with, then use the Ooze Garden to effectively save the creature from being sacrificed at end of turn, and be untapped in preparation for the opponent's upcoming turn.
I'm thinking that Dramatic Entrance would be a good choice to account for the times when I draw a huge creature for which I don't yet have the mana. I'm also guessing that Cream of the Crop might fit in, as long as I make sure to use the Impromptu Raid's ability during my upkeep (since I don't necessarily want to draw into a large creature).
Without further ado, here's my plan:
24x Forest
CREATURES:
4x Doomgape
4x Kitchen Finks
4x Walker of the Grove
4x Witherscale Wurm
4x Woodfall Primus
4x Impromptu Raid
4x Ooze Garden
4x Cream of the Crop
4x Dramatic Entrance
4x Gleeful Sabotage
4x Snakeform
7x ?
What do you think of this idea? Will it work? If so, what changes need to be made in order to make it work better? Also, if you have any ideas for the remaining seven cards of my sideboard, please let me know.
Thanks very much in advance for your input!
PM me your address and we'll work out the details.
Well, it looks like people either throw them out or just let them amass, while a select few others use them for creature tokens.
Does anyone have PT06 21/30, Masashi Oiso, who came with Time Spiral? I'm desperate--I'll trade you a rare for him!
What exactly is "top trumps?"
That sounds pretty strange to me. Why rip the head off a pro tour player card to use as a token? Why not just use the whole card?
Thanks for checking. At least now I know who it is so I can ask.
Might I suggest saving the commons to give out to onlookers to encourage them to get into the game?
Why??
And a big thumbs-up to you, sir. If you ever come across PT 06 21/30, Masashi Oiso, PLEASE let me know!
I have my collection in my trade binder. Not to trade with, mind you, but simply as a conversation piece.
Since I haven't seen anyone else collect them, what do all the rest of you do with your Pro Tour player cards? I'm sure a lot of you just throw them away, but if anyone does anything else creative or amusing with them, please post here.
You're absolutely correct. I took the deck to a tournament and learned that lesson the hard way.
Now I have to get my hands on 4x Shivan Reef before I try it out again.
Thanks kamahl789; I'm going to take you up on that.
Thanks to you and redsai's Everlasting Torment suggestion, I've modified it to look like this:
23 x Swamp
Creatures:
4x Gwyllion Hedge-Mage
4x Kulrath Knight
4x Necroskitter
4x Soul Snuffers
4x Tatterkite
3x Crumbling Ashes
4x Blowfly Infestation
3x Everlasting Torment
3x Incremental Blight (Beseech the Queen?)
4x Scar
Now, I don't own any Everlasting Torments at the moment, but I'm going to do my best to get them by the time the tournament starts tomorrow night. If I can't find them, then I'm going to include Beseech the Queen instead.
I'm a little worried about Incremental Blight, however. It seems a bit expensive, plus a bit bothersome if my opponent only has one or two creatures. Assuming I can get the Everlasting Torments, should I run Beseech the Queen in their place?
ALSO:
Does anyone have any suggestions on a sideboard? How do Torture, Quillspike, and Unmake sound?
But assuming I can obtain the Everlasting Torments, shouldn't I be running four Tatterkites instead of just two?
So, do I have too many enchantments? If so, should I re-introduce the Merrow Grimeblotters or perhaps swap something out with Duergar Mine-Captain?
This is a block constructed deck I'm working on:
23 x Swamp
Creatures:
4x Gwyllion Hedge-Mage
4x Kulrath Knight
4x Necroskitter
4x Soul Snuffers
4x Tatterkite
3x Crumbling Ashes
4x Blowfly Infestation
3x Everlasting Torment
3x Incremental Blight (Beseech the Queen?)
4x Scar
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to improve it? Specifically, I'm worried that maybe the Midnight Banshees are too expensive to run 3 of. Also, would Crumbling Ashes be a good card to run in this deck? If so, what should I take out?
Thanks a million!
Here is a deck I'm working on:
10x Island
10x Mountain
4x Cascade Bluffs
Creatures:
4x Horseshoe Crab
4x Knacksaw Clique
4x Leech Bonder
4x Pili-Pala
4x Puresight Merrow
4x Silkbind Faerie
4x Arcane Teachings
4x Fire Whip
4x Power of Fire
Does anyone have any suggestions on ways to make it better? Also, when I use the Knacksaw Clique's ability, if I expose an opponent's land, may I play it on my own turn if I've already played a land? How about on my opponent's turn?
Thanks in advance!
