Just had two negative experiences with card conditions from TCGplayer vendors. One is hopefully going to rectify the issue but sending me another card with the "correct" condition and a return envelope. The other is in being resolved, but advertising a NM card and receiving a played one is certainly unacceptable. I hope these vendors were not trying to do a bait and switch where they send a lower grade card and were hoping to do partial refunds to reflect their true condition.
I was hoping the prices of the uncommons would drop more :S.... if the rares halved surely the uncommons should fall but it looks like they only dropped $1.
Do you guys recommend this deck for a 1v1 tournament that uses regular edh rules? Would the inclusion of any banned cards which are legal for regular edh make it back into the deck? Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!
Grom: Thoughtseize serves to get rid of a threat that is bound to deal more than 2 damage over the course of the match, ie snagging a figure, flame javelin, gouger, etc.
Black Lotus: That decklist looks solid; are you sold on 4x Agony 1x Terror split? Also how would you SB against the top tier decks? I assume the mise Warhammer is for RDW? Thanks in advance.
Just a quick FNM report. I went 3-1 for third place w/ Shin's decklist. Didn't see any Doran but tons of Elves and Warriors. I need something to stop getting overrun.
1-0 (2-0)
Clash.dec
Deck based around the clash mechanic of Lorwyn block. It was a give away once he cast Entangling Trap, but I Snagged it away. Too much CA and tempo for him.
2-0 (4-1)
U/B Rogues
Mostly mono black with blue splash for Throng. Beat him first game with a mulligan to 5, but Mulldrifter gave me gas time and time again. Second game he ran over me with the Rogue that gives +2/+1 for each unblocked Rogue. Third game, just controlled the board for an easy win.
2-1 (5-3)
G/B Warriors
First game he was stuck on two Forests and Sowered his threats including a 5/3 Rhys with double Paragon counters on it. Second and third games, I got land screwed, stuck on 4 lands, and failed to get double white for Wrath. I was quite upset, just wondering if it was my luck or the decks inability to tackle that. I could use some insight as to what to board in and out.
3-1 (7-4)
MonoWhite Reveillark Control
Homebrew biuld with Martyr of Sands, Paladin en-Vecs, all recurrable w/ Reveillark. Akroma as a finisher and Story Circle to stop aggro. It was built for the current aggro meta. However, he knew his only bad match-up was a true Reveillark deck. Sowered his Reveillarks and used them to my advantage. Funniest thing with Sower was taking his Aven Riftwatcher, then he'd kill it on his turn, I'd Sower it back again, so this one single Riftwatcher kept all his counters. Finally it died on my upkeep and I gained 2 life
Like I said, just having trouble with Elves/Warriors. RDW won and I'm not sure how well our decks can handle that. Any comments would be great. Thanks for reading.
Thanks for the advice Shin. I'll let everyone know how it goes down tonight.
I think by removing the last piece of the combo from the decklist (mirror entity) is a statement to the power of UW control. I'll make a game time decision to see if I follow suit but more often than not the game is determined by sheer tempo and card advantage. I like the extra Pact in the SB, I assume the third comes in for Faeries to help resolve that critical Crovax.
I'm an avid reader of the boards, but have yet to participate.
Shin, I appreicate your insightful comments on the 'lark archetype and other decks. I would like to know what your SB choices would be against a Doran deck. Everyone dreads the turn 2 Doran. I'm planning to bring in Wisps for Bitterblossom. Is there anyway to play around Extirpate?
Give it time...set isn't even a day old.
