Odd question, but what are thoughts on the fifth and sixth best four drops in white?
For clarity, I'm looking to replace Felidar Guardian in my 720 cube. The idea of Saheeli combo was a nice one, but it's literally never came up in such a large card pool.
I'm already running these (in no particular order):
I'm considering Luminous Broodmoth. I've also been intrigued by Triumph of Saint Katherine (though, not a 4-drop) after seeing it played in recent Legacy events.
Alternatively, I've considered also looking to drop the curve a tiny bit and replace Guardian with a cheaper card. Just looking for thoughts.
On a different note, what sort of physical set up do you all use for managing lands and tokens during deck construction and game play? Do you keep everything in the cube box? A separate box? Does anyone have a land station like this one? Do you just pass stacks of lands / tokens around and let people take what they need?
I completely missed this post.
For lands, I have that very land station. It's a tad pricey, but I got mine at my LGS on store credit. I keep three cubes' worth of basics in it pretty comfy.
For my tokens, having multiple cubes, the BCW box started to get full, so I picked up this thing at Harbor Freight for about 10 bucks or so. The tokens box gets passed around quite a bit on cube night. This really helps to keep things organized.
We get retro frame Faith's Fetters and Guttersnipe, which is pretty cool at the very least.
I have these as potentials, but I haven't went over the list to look for possible cuts yet.
Sinister Sabotage - The clear winner, imo, and most likely inclusion.
Judge's Familiar
Boros Elite - I could see slotting this in over a Savannah Lions just for variety's sake.
Tin Street Dodger
First - I was playing in 98 when Duress was the Thoughtseize of our day. If you played Swamps, you played Duress, so there's a bit of a nostalgia factor there.
Second - While peasant cube games are similar to retail limited in that games are often won and lost on the battlefield with creatures, there are still a whole bunch of excellent targets for Duress on turn one. Given that creatures are so important, snagging that cheap removal spell or counter early can be clutch.
If I'm being completely honest, it's probably mostly the first one.
WotC's way to print alternate versions of cards. These are the fancy frames they do nowadays.

(r:c OR r:u OR ((in:uncommon OR in:common) -r<=uncommon))
What is the difference between r:c and in:common?
r:common = printed at common
in:common = printed at common at some point - This allows promos labeled as rare or mythic that were originally common to appear in the search.

Why are is there a piece at the end that seems to remove cards equal to or below uncommon?
Saheeli combo seems rough in a 720 cube where it only goes off with one card. Sure, both Felidar Guardian and Saheeli can have their moments of brilliance with other cards, but I do think it's a bit of a stretch in such a large cube.
Speaking from a bit of experience with this exact thing, this is completely true. We have an add-on that includes Storm, Combo, Un cards, Conspiracies, etc that we sometimes add and brings the cube up to 720 or so. Saheeli Combo is in that mix and it's literally never come together. It's on the docket to be cut in an upcoming update.
Wish I had seen this earlier, I want to try a different start using this site more. I have e been a very longtime lurker here and this site helped me so much to get my peasant cube where it is today. This average cube list helps me so much every year. Just wanted to say a huge thank you for your work on this project.
I believe your list has been included the last few years. Glad to see you around the forums!
I had a drafter of my cube send me a sourced list of the Top Peasant Cube Cards of 2023, from the top 10 qualifying Peasant cubes on CubeCobra. I have 10 of these top 12 (3 extra cards tied for #7) and I am excited to see how the Average Peasant Cube 2023 bears these out.
This article was very well done and I (I think obviously) appreciated the data mining.
Just a reminder that the 2023 list will be live sometime the week of Christmas. It will not include any cubes that have not at least been updated through WOE. I hope to have as many as possible that have updated through LCI. Really giving people as long as possible to get those updates in before the end of the year before I pull the data.
