I always love more removal, but there is a downside to it. Right now, we don't have a lot of great bodies to take advantage of the Soul's Fire. We can count on it to do 2 damage right now (sometimes 3) which isn't the most impressive (but still good). Also, we have seven pieces of removal as of now. Our deck really lacking the fat to push damage through right now. We have Leotau and Leviathan. I like taking the Elder here as it gives us some early game fat that we can ride while we use our removal to clear his path. Too bad Soul's Fire couldn't come next pack, it works wonders with an elder.

Gather Specimens, Undead Leotau, Welkin Guide, and Jessian Lookout. I have no experience with specimens so I need some input on how well it has worked for other people. The Leotau is always decent (gets better if we actually get a decent red splash). The lookout becomes just another two drop in this deck. The welkin seems good but we don't have the true ability to splash it right now. So I'm currently leaning towards the leotau but wait to here about the specimens.
Conflux. Because good sets are named after broken cards, and maybe this will be no exception. Future Sight saw some play, just in case you're wondering.
But Onslaught, Planar Chaos, Torment, and Coldsnap weren't broken. (You can't say Onslaught wasn't a good set, the others could have arguments either way)
The way I look at it is that the beetle is better for the deck right now. Puppet Conjurer is a very defensive card in nature. As of now, our deck seems to be looking to be a tempo/aggro deck so a defensive card wouldn't be that great here. The only true interactions it has with our deck so far are the two fleshbag marauders and the one bone splinters. Blister beetle tends to do the same purpose with these cards. It comes into play kills some stinger or a small drop (or incurable ogre) then gets eaten by one of those cards to take out something big.
given a grand total of one panorama so far is splashing red and green really a good plan?
I'm personally not attached to the red OR green plan yet. The goblin assault is good and was the right pick when we took it, but I see us dumping it unless we get some great red out of this pack. I can see us splashing the necrogenesis, but I would want to pick up at least a bant/jund panorama/obelisk before going that route. The only thing we are garunteed right now is :symu::symb:. I settled in for the capsule as I feel it's the best card here for our deck wether we stay two colors or not. If we end with a splash (especially the green) we will need it to help dig for our splash color.
As much as I love necrogenesis, I'm for taking the dregscape zombie or panorama here. The zombie helps fill in the precious two drop slot and has unearth. Also, with this pack I see us catching the kederekt creeper on the wheel so it's looking worth it to go into grixis. The other option I see other than the zombie is the panorama which if a viable option as well as it will help us to get our (most likely) splashed red for the goblin assault and creeper that should wheel plus whatever other goodies we can get.

that sounds more like a damage prevent guy.
