I use the darkhearts simply because they are a mana cheaper than the Syphon. I havent played around with switching them out in a while though. I use 4 Diffusion because my local meta dictates the need. I have to have them for local games because of the prevalence of control. 3 Mutavaults because of the colored mana issues I have had previously. Necrotics are good late game, they tend to draw hate away from other more important things earlier in games as well.
But it fights on the 2cc spot with so many other Slivers: Predatory, Sinew, Diffusion, Manaweft, Sentinel Sliver etc. In what scenario would you play Darkheart over any of them on turn 2? Also Darkheart has a attached downside to it: you have to actually sacrifice your sliver in order to gain life. I know about the combat tricks against ex Wurmcoil engine so you can deny your opponent the lifegain and probably other stuff also ive forgot. I just feel Syphon Sliver have alot more to offer and can immidiately turn the table with a single round of lifelinking Slivers.
When all being said I do feel Darkheart has a place. Imo its just in the sideboard as a 1-2 of.
I like where you're going with this line of thinking, I'll swap them around for my next event and see how it goes.

To help Evolution decks it would be nice to have cheap token generation... Evolve into a lord... Right now the cheapest token generation is Hive Stirrings followed by Sliver Hive if we are going for sliver tokens. There is also the Sliversmith but do we really want to be discarding any cards?
From my experience testing with Eldritch Evolution, it really only helps if you are trying to get to something specific like Sliver Legion or Hivelord or even if you were going for a combo piece like Dormant is in a combo I have been pursuing. It really hurts the card disadvantage in the coco/vial deck which already hurts due to lack of card draw.
The Diffusion question is an interesting one... In my latest versions of coco/vial slivers I have been running 4 because of all the grindy match ups that have sprung up in the local meta.
Man, what I'd give for another run of slivers with new abilities. A hexproof sliver is needed. A sliver that eats a card in the graveyard upon entering is needed. etc...
Played an IQ in Joplin over the weekend. Ended up 3-2 and 15th place. After the event I believe I will give fast slivers a go before continuing with Coco/vial slivers. I am certain its simply pilot error but I think its time to try a different strategy.

I like Eldritch Evolution but not with Collected Company. I got to see an Abzan deck at Gencon that was utilizing Evo, and it was brutal... Thragtusk into Elesh Norn, grand cenobite. I have been thinking about reviving an old combo idea with Evo... My list is starting to take shape (below), any thoughts? Not sure at all that 4 Evo is right for what I'm trying to accomplish.
Gencon has come and gone. I played 2 modern events with my sliver build, went a combined 4-4. Losses to thru the breach, infect, abzan, and thopter sword all went 3 games. Lived the dream against burn last night in round 4... turn 1 vial, turn 2 vial, turn 3 blur and vial in lord and swing 5,turn 4 fetch down to 1 life coco into lord gale rider vial in manaweft and Lord and swing 25 in the air. I had some great matches even though i ended up losing some, they were great close games. Also, did get to meet Adam Bowman, he was here for Saturday.
