Good point - I lost the cluestones and keyrunes - I think I might go full esper - GAAIV looks like a cool commander, though. I love tax/stax strategies. Not sure. Regarding mana curves, I almost never play anything that costs more than 6. I mostly stay in the 3-5 mana range though.
If you wanted the no-holds-barred, ultimate explosive commander deck, you'd want what I imagine is a well vetted suite of the best rocks in the format. You'd want Sol Ring and Mana Crypt. You'd want any relevant Ravnica Guild Signets, Keyrunes and Cluestones. Chrome Mox looks like it could fit into any deck. You've got Gilded Lotus. Am I missing anything obvious? What do you folks think of temporary effects like Lotus Petal and I believe Lion's Eye Diamond? I personally don't value temporary effects. My monoblack Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder runs doublers, but doesn't run rituals. My next commander goal is to make a blue-black control deck, possibly cannibalizing a lot of Endrek, since I've got the best tutors bar Imperial Seal and I'm not buying them twice. I don't really have a win con planned out, nor even a commander, though I know I don't want mill as the win condition, though I'm okay with it facilitating a grave-looting strategy if need be. I'm still planning. What I do know, is that I'd like it to be explosive. Endrek is very grindy and long-game oriented, and a lot of decks just blow me out of the water before I gain traction. I need to be fast. Any suggestions for explosive ramp outside of green?
I buy cards on TCGPlayer, and I opt for the cheapest nonfoil version of a card according to the optimize cart feature. Once it's done optimizing, I spend 20 minutes trying to insert the dozen loose cards under a dollar into legal orders, and, voila, my card choices are set. My Endrek Sahr deck seems to run more old frames than new, if I remember right.
I have heard here in Australia LGS are being limited to the amount they will receive. My LGS owner said she was told the maximum she could order was 24.
24 is the number I was given as well. I wonder if it's tiered to WPN level? My shop is "Advanced" tier.
Right, so people need to make sure they don't fall for any initial scarcity price-jackings. Fat Packs aren't MM2015. They arent FTV: Angels. There will be more than enough to go around. You're entitled to MSRP or less. You just might not get product week one.
I just called my distributor. The deal is, shops have always had supply limits because distributors have limited stock from Wizards. It just so happens, most of the time, that never becomes an issue with Fat Packs, because the pack to price ratio kind of sucks, and nobody buys them. I used to only buy a case of Fat Packs for my shop because it makes me look good fully supporting the MtG brand, but they were always a hard move. Now these Fat Packs have absurd demand in comparison, and distributors have to make sure everybody gets some. For example, I'm asking for 48 boxes, but am guaranteed only 24 as of right now. I'm guaranteed 30 booster boxes, for comparison. It's just that BfZ is seemingly printing money, and everything is desirable, and there are lots of gameshops tugging on their distributors for the same product. It's not a conspiracy - it's just WotC having done something right. There's a reason this wasn't an issue with Theros and Khans block.
Well done sir ! Reading the previous comments is pretty hilarious now
Right? A locked thread and a whole bunch of nerd rage, and the guy was right. Instead of apologies, expect justifications or silence. No good deed goes unpunished.
When they get spoiled come back and site me. I honestly don't care if you don't believe me i'm just leaking the things I do know. Cycle of allied Dual lands, r/g omnath, and a gideon who is an Alley
and yes, they are awful in modern. but they are duals
Do the lands have a basic land type? What's Gideons and Omnaths cmc? If you have seen them why not tell us more?
Because he is full of it, and I'm not talking about cookies.
It's a new account, only three posts at this moment, and he has not provided one shred of evidence to back up his claims.
People don't want to have to worry about losing to you when they can be focused on winning with their big, splashy creatures. If you want to be fun to play against, don't play anything that requires answers. I noticed you can destroy people's things. It's not fun having your things destroyed-- you might even go so far as to call it "unfun". I would consult your playgroup to see if it's okay with them. Some groups are more hardcore than others. You'd be welcome to play this against my friends and I, but we, on the whole, tend to deride the whole condemnation of "unfun board states". Fun in Magic is as much foiling your opponents' strategies as it is enacting your own.
My thought is that because Mark Rosewater said that Zendikar Fetches won't be in "Battle for Zendikar", it's important to note that he didn't say block. It's not unrealistic to think they might make an appearance in whatever set two is. Didn't a similar thing play out before Khans? "No Zendikar fetches in Khans?". Absolutely correct, but, like asking a demon for a favor, you've got to choose your words carefully. There were no Zendikar fetches in Khans -- we got Onslaught fetches. There are no Zendikar fetches in Battle for Zendikar - that's a fact you can bank on, but he didn't talk about set two, "Cliffhanger of Zendikar". It matters with Rosewater and company - they do this a lot.
On topic, I was always a bit annoyed at the color specific prereleases. There were never enough winning faction kits for everyone, because buying enough winning faction kits for everyone would mean having that same number of all the other loser factions collecting dust. I like that every box is equal.
My shop, for casual play, uses partial paris mulligans with the first one free, but then, even in constructed 60 card formats, we use full paris with the first mull free - when Zen releases, we'll add the scry if under 7 on top of both, most likely.
The best thing WotC could do for me regarding Commander 15 is to balance the desirability of the five decks. As a shop owner, it was hard to balance satisfying the demand for the popular decks while being forced to buy sets of all five to do so, and having the lousy ones collect dust.
I don't run Vampire Nighthawk because it really doesn't advance a board state, and the value of low-drop weenies in Commander is negligible, but I've always liked the card. That said, I do run Phyrexian Obliterator, and I'm thinking I shouldn't, for the same reason. Hmm... If it wasn't almost $30, it'd be gone already.

Have you seen the new Omnath?
