I forgot that all you would have to do to stop an artifact heavy casual deck is to get out null rod, and Trinisphere. You seemed to know even better ways to stop broken casual decks, and if you were to include power 9, and no vintage restriction what would you build?
I have been trying to find out what the best deck would be for mtgo, and I was thinking vintage/legacy. I guess if you use certain counters to both of our decks we built then the opposing deck will win. That's fine, but is there any way to win without restricting the casual decks mana sources? I also guess it really isn't a challenge as you said because it was completely countered in 1 post. So could you post a deck that could win against your Tendrils of Agony deck, and have the intent to play against world champion players in the format you choose?
Intro
I want this thread to be like a deck contest, but the main object is to post a deck that can beat an OP Broken one from casual play.
The difficult part is that the deck must be built in a legal format of MTG. (If a type of casual play is considered a format then just skip that one.)
I have refrained from putting the deck stats testing URL's because I thought that was against a rule. Decks
I have two decks that I think are quite broken.
If these decks are not that powerful then you can assume up to five cards are replaceable on each deck.
Also if these decks are too easy to counter then just post your own broken deck, and that may be used as another casual deck.
The idea is to be able to win against one of the casual decks described while only using format legal decks. Rules
Format decks always go first, but the deck must win at least 5 out of 10 times against the casual ones.
The Rules after that should be the normal such as casual decks must have 60 cards, and a format deck follows it's formats rules. Ending
If you feel this is impossible then you can just post impossible, and your reasoning on why it is.
I made this thread not to feel as though a casual deck is better, but to learn more about each of the formats best decks in a fun way.
If there is anything that needs to be fixed or improved please tell me.
I think I might try to make either a green/black deck or a green/blue deck, but I could always try mono green.
I am going to try first 4 Gaea's Cradle, and a bunch of 0 cost creatures, and a way to win.
What would you recommend for a deck in Legacy assuming I have an unlimited budget.
I have been playing casual MTG for a while, and I have recently decided I would get into tournament play since a few events are coming up around me. I think Legacy does have some potential even though about 90 % of my decks are banned in it.
Idea #1: I was thinking of a cheap spell that could let me play creatures for free so i could try to one shot as fast as possible. e.g Recurring Nightmare
I would also need cards that could allow me to discard massive creatures.
Idea #2 this one is a little slower, and it relies on massive amounts of either 0 cost creatures or 1 mana creatures so gaea's cradle could work properly.

Yeah well when it comes to just the question of which color in mtg is the best? Like I said I will always pick Blue, and really I only like to play casually because I don't like the card restrictions, but of course excluding ante cards most of the time even though I would love to use Contract from Below. I think vintage could be an ok playing format, but I would not like that my deck is going from 4 of each card to 1. The whole deck would be restricted except for a few cards, but that's ok since I only play casual anyways. I think it is of course debatable when asked who has the best sorcery card of the mtg colors, but again I'd say blue for Tinker, TimeTwister, and Time Walk. The category blue loses the most in is Creatures, and I only think of Inkwell Leviathan for an ok Blue creature. I think looking at Lands Blue can Win in as well, but as before it is debatable, and I would pick Tolarian Academy to win this spot. Instant speed is the hard one for me because I only know a few great cards for Instant, but I will say Force of Will, and Ancestral Recall for Blue as they should be able to take a majority of this category as well.
This question is the easiest to answer, and by casual format disregarding ante then blue should remain the best color.
I would like to know peoples opinions when you include cards from all sets, and if you have to then you can exclude ante cards to find out which Color is the Best. I always prefer blue, and when asked the question which MTG color is the best? I won't even hesitate to say blue because it has my favorite cards in it from Tinker to Ancestral Recall. I also like how well Tolarian Academy can create Blue mana.
I like red as well so in a which two colors are the best combo or not I would pick those two, and I made a deck that can show the power of Blue/Red which is a very simple, but winning concept. It's Deck Stats: http://deckstats.net/decks/21851/127369-the-best-mtg-deck/en
Yeah their are many possibilities it seems when you can use most of the cards. I have seen some effective turn one flash hulk decks, but I wouldn't build that type of deck. I like Pyrite Spellbomb, but I do not think it will win that often on turn one, but who knows I guess I would have to build it. FTW1987 yes you could code a simulator to determine the best turn one win decks like you were saying. That really does sound fun, and you would be learning more coding techniques in the process.
Feyd_Ruin your deck is Ok, and it wins a good number of times turn one. The drawing machine is the same, but you need it with Molten Psyche.
Ill take some of the advise, and play around with some ideas.
Well if the idea in general is to make an unbeatable deck from turn one then I recommend Tinker, and you get leviathan out turn one, but going the rout of turn one winning I would use this instead.

That's why I build these decks, and I guess also to see how it plays against people who regularly build mtg decks, but with modern cards. They either quit or add to your playgroup, but on a forum such as this I like to find the very best of a possible turn one win deck for fun.
So if anyone has anymore suggestions for an ultimate turn one win deck you should definitely post about it.
I have created a turn one winning deck, and I want to hear ideas about what deck would be better for winning on turn one.

Casual Player
Here it is...
Sometimes I don't get tolarian academy, and so I play tested, and it works ok with those two extra lands. The deck is still a drawing machine so I think it is my favorite variation so far.
Yeah I meant the best of today's Modern mtg cards (say 2015 or 2014) against the best variation of this deck.
I thought about it, and tried it, and this is probably the closest I can get it to perfect. The Draw power really helps in this deck, and I've eliminated any need for a tutor in it. I will probably just make another thread for just the subject of turn one winning so if anyone wanted they could just post their ideas.
Well here it is Blue/Red, and I thought blue green was more powerful... http://deckstats.net/decks/21851/127369-the-best-mtg-artifact-deck?saved=1&lng=en
The deck could be beaten quite easily, but only if most opponents were trying to defend against it. I know it is insane, but what if you played the best variation of this deck against the best deck in Modern mtg Format.

I have 4 Jace, the Mind Sculptor, and 4 Liliana of The Veil that I figured were not that good when I played casual, but maybe in Legacy they could be worth using.
If there are any better Legacy deck strategies that are just unknown to me you can suggest any of those if you want.
