Oct 16, 2016kenderbox posted a message on Word of Command - Kaladesh Post-ReviewAetherflux Reservoir's interaction with Sydri, Galvanic Genius is just begging to be said and re-said, as the animation and the lifelink can easily take out all of your opponents if left uninterrupted.Posted in: Articles

Mar 7, 2016kenderbox posted a message on Word of Command 11 - A Basic Manabase"One advantage to artifact ramp is that every mana rock you add to your deck adds to the total mana your deck could produce, while land search cards simply find existing ones." - This statement totally made me look at mana rocks in a whole different way, and made me care about whether my commander has mana extensive abilities or not. Nice article!Posted in: Articles

Dec 30, 2015kenderbox posted a message on Word of Command #8 - Introducing the 2015 Commander DecksKalemne is definitely the commander with experience counters that's hardest to break, mainly because her experience condition costs a lot and thus may seem very slow. Because of this, maybe she wouldn't be looked at by a lot of players, which is a big plus for Johnnies who love legends that lie low on the radar.Posted in: Articles
Perhaps enterprising players can speed up Kalemne's experience build up by stocking the deck with "cheat" creatures? High-cost creatures with suspend, evoke, dash, and even affinity might be a good idea. -

Jul 13, 2015kenderbox posted a message on Sphinx-Bone Wand Combo?Hi,Posted in: Uhhh... Quick question...
I think that's a nice combo, and I think that you will be able to kill your opponent's creatures with that, with the way Sphinxbone Wand works.
Then again, I'm not a judge, and I'm only basing this on my knowledge of the rules. If you want some reference, you can always forward your question to cranialinsertion@gmail.com.
Good luck! -
May 5, 2015kenderbox posted a message on High Stakes Magic - A New Way to PlaySince your system allows players to spend their gold as mana of any color (for activation costs etc.), would it be safe to just call them gold counters so they can interact with proliferate? Or how about calling them gold tokens so they align with cards like Gild and King Macar, the Gold-Cursed.Posted in: Articles
This is a very, very interesting format indeed. It could even be played alongside normal games of Commander, since the cards from the auction block are revealed face-up and could easily be distinguished from drawn cards. It can find an audience from the same people who play Planechase+Commander games.
As for building the auction block, there are TONS of ways to do it. I'm already dreaming of a mercenary auction block, where the communal deck is composed of nothing but legendary creatures that you "pay" to join your cause (again, it would be a refreshing addition to a normal Commander game).
I like it!

Plus, it can draw you more than a card.
Am I the only one here who's a bit miffed that they blurred the lines between eldrazi subspecies so arbitrarily? Drones used to produce spawn (and now, scions). For all its worth this could have been a processor... but really, a drone???
Can anyone please enlighten me about the stipulations of the RL? Is wizards forbidden to print new cards with different names but are mechanically identical to those under the RL?
Anyway, I think the new baselands are already as close they can get to ABUR duals. I see no reason why they have to print the actual duals in Sweat.
My compass points to filter lands in Sweat. But this is not a speculation thread, so I'll let that rest for now.
Those mythic lands though... whew. It gave me such a rush like the one I felt when they said they're going to include search lands in FRF. The lands sure are pretty, but I'm not going to buy more than a box and a fat pack. I'll leave that to the hard cores. Lol
Tsk. And to think I was considering a Magic holiday (to give my wallet a break) for BFZ. I should have NOT bought that Dragons of Tarkir box and saved up instead foe this one.
What about taint lands from Torment? Printing a few lands that would slowly complete that 20-card cycle would be nice. (Albeit confusing in the long run)
From a limited perspective, I'd have to say red looks surprisingly good, especially since Wizards has diversified red's effects. It has evasion, card draw, and removal now, and if it only had beat sticks like the ones you usually see in green, then it's easily one of the more versatile colors. Plus: red is sooooooo gentle on the brains. Just drop mountains and burn stuff! No fuss no muss.
Anyway I'll be picking colors based on what Commander stuff and non-game shizz that I'm interested in, so I'll be going for black. That's why I'm still hoping there'll be some seeded packs.
Wouldn't snap caster still pick this up if the aurora ended up in the graveyard without being cast? Besides, from a purely Vorthosian perspective, this shouldn't exile itself, as it's a periodic phenomenon that happens in Lorwyn and not just a one-time event. (Plus, it shouldn't affect faeries.)
Creature - Child (R)
All dennis have menace.
1: Target creature becomes a denni in addition to its other types.
3/3
IIW: Unhinged
Additionally, Tail Slash, which is even Standard-Legal.
Edit: Ugh. Sorry about that, seems that card was mentioned already...
Okay, maybe Arcbond too?
Wasn't this pretty much what they did with FTV: Annhilation?
Then again, they also did DD: Divine vs. Demonic, which is pretty much the same concept as FTV: Angels...
