Mar 7, 2016kenderbox posted a message on Word of Command 11 - A Basic Manabase"One advantage to artifact ramp is that every mana rock you add to your deck adds to the total mana your deck could produce, while land search cards simply find existing ones." - This statement totally made me look at mana rocks in a whole different way, and made me care about whether my commander has mana extensive abilities or not. Nice article!Posted in: Articles

Dec 30, 2015kenderbox posted a message on Word of Command #8 - Introducing the 2015 Commander DecksKalemne is definitely the commander with experience counters that's hardest to break, mainly because her experience condition costs a lot and thus may seem very slow. Because of this, maybe she wouldn't be looked at by a lot of players, which is a big plus for Johnnies who love legends that lie low on the radar.Posted in: Articles
Perhaps enterprising players can speed up Kalemne's experience build up by stocking the deck with "cheat" creatures? High-cost creatures with suspend, evoke, dash, and even affinity might be a good idea. -

Jul 13, 2015kenderbox posted a message on Sphinx-Bone Wand Combo?Hi,Posted in: Uhhh... Quick question...
I think that's a nice combo, and I think that you will be able to kill your opponent's creatures with that, with the way Sphinxbone Wand works.
Then again, I'm not a judge, and I'm only basing this on my knowledge of the rules. If you want some reference, you can always forward your question to cranialinsertion@gmail.com.
Good luck! -
May 5, 2015kenderbox posted a message on High Stakes Magic - A New Way to PlaySince your system allows players to spend their gold as mana of any color (for activation costs etc.), would it be safe to just call them gold counters so they can interact with proliferate? Or how about calling them gold tokens so they align with cards like Gild and King Macar, the Gold-Cursed.Posted in: Articles
This is a very, very interesting format indeed. It could even be played alongside normal games of Commander, since the cards from the auction block are revealed face-up and could easily be distinguished from drawn cards. It can find an audience from the same people who play Planechase+Commander games.
As for building the auction block, there are TONS of ways to do it. I'm already dreaming of a mercenary auction block, where the communal deck is composed of nothing but legendary creatures that you "pay" to join your cause (again, it would be a refreshing addition to a normal Commander game).
I like it!

I'm kinda thinking that they'd still be two colors, but with a tinge of red this time, with Gisela becoming red black so she wouldn't overlap with Avacyn's new color identity. It's about time that we get to see red as the color of evil.
I think with Nahiri messing up the endemic landscape of Innistrad with her cryptoliths, practically any type of terrain would fit into the established geography of Sorin's home plane (at least for now) .
They can just keyword opponent mill and call it unravel. There are many flavors of creatures that kill other creatures using poison in combat too but that didn't prevent Wizards from key wording deathtouch (does anyone here still remember Cockatrice?
As it turns out, you're right. It's no longer "Reign of Brago" nor "the Empty Throne". It's now "Conspiracy 2: Take the Crown."
Apparently, Fiora is so rife with intrigue that the set itself is not excempt from all the politicking even before the set comes out.
This is giving me the vibes of Mirrodin Besieged where they tacked on "infect" on iconic Mirran creatures just to "Phyrexianize" them.
Also, it's kinda suspicious that we haven't seen a single converge card in the spoilers so far. Not that I miss it. It felt like a trying-hard version of sunburst.
I dunno if the two of you are talking about the same thing. Dual (colored) commander is not the same as Duel (one-on-one) commander.
Pardon me, but why is this angel receiving so much grief because of its mana cost? She isn't meant to be cast - she's meant to be reanimated (or at least cheated into play). I thought her ability is already blunt enough to tell players to put her in a reanimation deck. That would probably mean that she won't do much good in a slow mono-white deck, buy still. Not all cards in a set have to cater to Modern and Standard.
I totally agree. Karametra is giving this angel a lusty eye.
By the time he shows up, the ambush is already happening, thus the haste. It just so happens that the ambushes are attacking in a neat conga line.
