MTG Salvation

Gatecrash is an amazing set. Possibly the best set for EDH of all time. All five of its Legendary creatures provide interesting effects for their color combinations. Cycles like the Guildmages and the Primordials are tailor-made for EDH Shenanigans. Extort is a multiplayer-friendly effect that's attached to several very useful cards. Cipher provides value city all day long with durdly evasive dudes. Evolve, Battalion, and Bloodrush are all fairly minor for EDH, but the rest of the set as a whole easily makes up for it.

Here, I will be highlighting every card that is potentially useful in EDH. I'll skip all those that are clearly designed as limited fodder.


White

Angelic Edict - It's just a functional reprint of Iona's Judgment. Not the best card, but a relatively flexible piece of exiling removal.
Angelic Skirmisher - Victory's Herald accomplishes most of what you'd want to do with this, but it does have a few options that the Herald does not (vigilance, first strike), as well as being able to provide bonuses even when it cannot attack and even while on defense.
Blind Obedience - A decent value permanent with Extort on it. It greatly slows down artifact mana as well as hasty creatures, and can make some artifacts like Oblivion Stone and Mindslaver much more difficult to use, all while letting you slowly bleed the board out. For extra nastiness, try combining it with Embargo - Extort keeps your life up to keep the Embargo from killing you, while the combination makes it so opposing creatures and artifacts are pretty much useless.
Debtor's Pulpit - A decent delaying strategy, a la Icy Manipulator or Scepter of Dominance. I'd think it playable if it could tap any type of permanent, but being restricted to creatures means that the Scepter is probably the better bet.
Frontline Medic - He seems an obvious constructed plant, but he's not bad in EDH. Making your creatures unkillable when attacking is a pretty decent bonus, especially when using creatures with on-attack triggers like Kaalia of the Vast. As an added bonus, he can hinder your opponents in casting X-spells like Spinx's Revelation, Exsanguinate, or Genesis Wave, at the very least making them 3 points weaker.
Gideon, Champion of Justice - Most planeswalkers have potential in EDH, and Gideon is no exception. He has a fair amount going for him - he can grow big, especially when combined with Wrath or Sphere of Safety effects to keep the creatures who grow him big from overwhelming him, he can bash for a lot of damage with relative safety, and his ultimate provides a pretty devastating boardwipe that can be followed up by recasting your general or other threats from your hand. His big problem though is his inflexibility. Since his +1 doesn't actually do anything besides grow him, he only really has two options, and one of those is his ultimate, while most planeswalkers have two non-ultimate options, making them a lot more flexible and useful.
Holy Mantle - Protection from Creatures auras are always an interesting option for aura-voltron generals. The lack of a card draw makes this generally inferior to Unquestioned Authority however, especially as it is too expensive for Zur, the Enchanter to fetch.
Luminate Primordial - Ah, the first of the Primordials. These guys are all insane in EDH, providing a solid body for the cost plus an ETB ability that scales up on the number of players in the game. Luminate provides a Swords to Plowshares for each opponent, which can deal with several threats at once. He's possibly the weakest of the cycle, but it's still a great effect.
Murder Investigation - potentially has a place in Aura-voltron decks, where it provides some wrath insurance by letting you flood your board with creatures if your general gets swept.
Urbis Protector - Pretty innocuous at first, seeming just like a reverse Voice of the Provinces. He makes a pretty good flicker target, however, as the tokens he brings along are plenty beefy.


Blue
Aetherize - It's mostly just a fog effect, but as a Fog it's a fairly powerful one, letting it wipe out token armies and creatures that have been cheated into play. Can definitely be a beating if someone invests a lot into their attack pre-combat.
Cloudfin Raptor - Edric, Spymaster of Trest wants as many 1-mana evasive creatures as possible. This one is pretty solid to boot, as casting another 1/1 and then Edric turns him into a 2/3.
Diluvian Primordial - The most direct comparison here is Chancellor of the Spires. Chancellor is a little tougher to cast, but has better stats, doesn't exile the targeted spell (which enables a lot of shenanigans, especially with cards like Ghostly Flicker, Heat Shimmer, Rite of Replication, etc, plus just abusing Time Warp multiple times), and has a pretty useless Leyline effect. Diluvian hits more graveyards at once, and exiles the spells so they can't be re-used. I'd say that Diluvian is a better fair card, while Chancellor is a better unfair card.
Enter the Infinite - Now here is a card that is very similar to Omniscience. It's hugely expensive, but casting it probably wins you the game, likely on the spot. Personally, I'm not a fan of these cards, as they seem to solitaire-oriented and too much of an auto-win.
Hands of Binding - All of the Cipher spells deserve a little attention, simply because they are re-usable, potentially infinitely so. Hands turns any creature into a Pseudo Frost Titan, which is pretty decent for a mere 2 mana.
Keymaster Rogue - Returning a creature to your hand can be seen as an advantage, as it lets you abuse ETB effects. A 4-mana 3-power unblockable guy is nothing to write home about, but the combination of his excellent sword-wielding ability and his ninjutsu-esque bounce makes him at least worth considering.
Last Thoughts - Drawing a single card on Cipher is pretty decent. The cost of 4 is probably a bit high, however. At 3, this is a conditional Divination with a chance to keep going slowly. At 4, this is a bad Concentrate that has a chance to catch up and maybe surpass.
Rapid Hybridization - Pongify is something of a blue staple, as it lets you remove problematic generals and other cards that have slipped through for a mere one mana. Giving them a 3/3 is rarely a big deal. This just gives us another Pongify.
Realmwright - This guy has a lot of potential in EDH. One mana, he lets you fix into a second color in a powerful way, and he combines very well with any cards that count your land types, like Cabal Coffers, Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle, Emeria, the Sky Ruin, or even Caged Sun-type effects.
Simic Manipulator - One of the few Evolve creatures to make decent use of its +1/+1 counters. Overall, the effect is a little slow, but it can let you turn some big source of counters like Forgotten Ancient into a reliable creature-theft engine.
Stolen Identity - One of the best EDH Cipher cards. It takes Phyrexian Metamorph and lets you cast it multiple times, which is nuts.
Voidwalk - Another very interesting Cipher card. Lets you easily abuse ETB abilities multiple times, which can be very powerful. Also, the initial cast removes a potential blocker.


Black

Crypt Ghast - Black decks traditionally love their Gauntlet of Power effects, and this is no exception. It comes down for relatively cheap, and provides Extort potential in addition to the mana doubling. Overall, an amazing EDH card.
Devour Flesh - It's just a "bad" Diabolic Edict, except it can also be used in a pinch to gain you a bunch of life. Overall, it's relatively flexible, providing edict-style removal, which is always good, or a pinch lifegain.
Dying Wish - Another effect kind of like Murder Investigation, can make for decent insurance in an Aura voltron deck. Unfortunately, as far as Aura Voltron generals go, there's really just Zur.
Illness in the Ranks - A great foil to token-swarm decks, as it can shut them down on the cheap.
Lord of the Void - 7/7 flying for 7 with a solid on-hit ability that can cut people off of resources as well as give you a free creature. Plus it's a demon for Kaalia abuse.
Mental Vapors - Like Last Thoughts, it seems a little too expensive for its effect to be worth it in EDH. It is worth noting that it effectively lets you build your own specter, except the damaged player does not have to be the same as the player who discards.
Midnight Recovery - Now here is a solid Cipher spell. Again, you're paying 4 mana for a 1-mana effect, but it's one that in a good deck can be far more powerful than a simple draw or discard. ETB-dudes durdling decks will love this (plus Voidwalk) as a way to eke out incremental advantage.
Ogre Slumlord - Triggers that give you creature tokens on other creatures dying are always pretty strong in ETB-dududes durdling decks, where you tend to play out and sacrifice cheap creatures repeatedly. They also go infinite with Nether Traitor and Phyrexian Altar. This one provides some extra value in that its tokens are deathtouch as well, which lets you easily control the ground.
Sepulchral Primordial - All of the Primordials are good, but this one (along with the Green one) is Insane. It lets you reanimate a creature from each opposing graveyard, and even if he dies, the creatures all remain. The amount of value gained from playing this guy just once is huge - and if you can flicker or bounce it, you easily take over a game.
Thrull Parasite - Another decent Extort guy, combining a playable effect at a reasonable cost with the bonus of Extort. He will easily be used to mess up planeswalker math, remove +1/+1 counters, and other shenanigans (Fate counters perhaps?).
Undercity Informer - Every ETB-Dudes Durdle deck, especially those containing black, need ways to sac their dudes to later recur them. This guy can do that while also stocking your graveyard with other creatures to recur, or messing up opposing plans, or even decking them out.
Undercity Plague - A potentially very powerful Cipher effect, providing most of a Smallpox, but only against one person. Repeated hits of this can devastate a player's hand and board, leaving him helpless.
Wight of Precinct Six - Nothing too exciting, just a 2-drop that can be relatively large. Makes for a decent target for Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord sacrifice.


Red

Five-Alarm Fire - A potential blowout card in token decks. Token swarms engaging in combat easily stack this card full of counters, which can then be removed to dish out big portions of damage to remove creatures or finish off players.
Hellkite Tyrant - As a 6/5 flying trampling dragon for 6, Tyrant has already decent stats, though nothing too impressive. Then it tacks on a powerful on-hit effect that can steal artifact mana, equipment, and other baubles like Mind's Eye or Caged Sun that a player might have laying around. Then, as icing on the cake, it has an achievable wincon of controlling 20 artifacts, which can be accomplished fairly easily through token generation. Mycosynth Lattice also powers up both of his abilities, letting you steal a player's entire board with a swing and making the wincon even easier to achieve.
Molten Primordial - Threaten effects are always pretty powerful in EDH. Big ones like Mass Mutiny and Insurrection are often game-enders. This adds a 6/4 body onto Mass Mutiny, which makes it that much easier to close out a game - especially when you can then hit that body with things like Riku of Two Reflections, Kiki-jiki, Mirror Breaker, and similar to steal even more creatures, either that turn on on subsequent turns.
Skullcrack - Nothing too exciting, but the ability to turn off lifegain and prevention for a turn can lead to the occasional blowout. Nothing beats the guy who loves throwing around Fog effects like cracking his skull in response.
Tin Street Market - Wizards officially hates red and wants to prevent it from ever flourishing in EDH. This card could have easily cost 2-3 mana, and/or had the discard be part of the resolution instead of the cost so that you could use it for actual card advantage on an empty hand, but instead it's just another overpriced Rummaging Goblin effect.


Green

Giant Adephage - Green has a lot of fat available to it, much of it with powerful ETB effects. Adephage is fat that exists just to be fat and to continually get fatter. It does a fairly good job of it though, doubling its damage potential every time it gets through, and being nearly impossible to chump block.
Gyre Sage - It's similar to Viridian Joiner, except it trades being able to operate off of any boost for coming down for a little less and self-boosting. Personally, I think that it's going to be a bit too slow, but it does have some potential with any big +1/+1 counter-granting effect like Forgotten Ancient.
Hindervines - The best Fog effects for aggressive decks are those that are one-sided. This, in a deck built around it, can be used to blank an attack while still being able to kill the attacking creatures, or to allow one of your attacks to get through without losing anyone to blockers.
Ivy Lane Denizen - The Denizens on the whole are kind of weak. Ivy Lane has a decent effect in conjunction with several of the Evolve guys though, which gives her a potential place.
Miming Slime - A cheap way to double your largest power on the board, which can be especially potent after an Overrun-type effect.
Rust Scarab - A decent-sized body that Naturalizes when blocked. It really needs some help from a Nemesis Mask-type effect, as any smart player will take four rather than losing an artifact or enchantment, but it does have some potential.
Spire Tracer - Another Edric weenie. Edric rarely gets two in the same set.
Sylvan Primordial - Easily the best of the Primordials, the best EDH card in the set, and possibly the best legal creature as of right now. Anyone who has been searching for a good replacement to Primeval Titan, here it is. For 7 mana, you get a Bramblecrush plus a Nature's Lore for each opponent. For an average game of 4 players, that means that this gives you more ramp than just Primeval's ETB trigger, and as many Bramblecrushes as Terastodon, but without those pesky elephants attached. As an added bonus, it only ramps if you're running green (and enough green to have a pretty hefty supply of forests), making it a much poorer target than Primeval Titan for every Clone/Bribery/Control Magic/Reanimate effect ever. As an added bonus, its body is really solid. Green has problems dealing with flyers sometimes, and this guy can block and kill Invasion/Planar Chaos Dragons as well as Akroma, Angel of Wrath, amongst others.
Verdant Haven - Another Fertile Ground effect for Enchantress decks is the only thing this has going for it.
Wildwood Rebirth - Green rarely gets straight Disentomb effects, making this a very interesting card. Unfortunately, it's strictly worse than Evolution Charm, which already sees very little play.


Orzhov

Deathpact Angel - It's a self-reanimating guy, but for its size, it's relatively expensive to both play and reanimate. Plus its reanimation method is vulnerable to further removal before you can untap with it. Overall, I'm not too impressed.
High Priest of Penance - At its most simple, it's a blocker who threatens a Vindicate when he blocks. However, he has a lot more potential than that. Slap him with Indestructibility, Blessing of Leeches, or Darksteel Plate, and he'll survive his encounters with most anything, letting you, for example, trigger him yourself using Pestilence.
Merciless Eviction - Final Judgment is a good wrath, providing the finality of exile. Austere Command is a good wrath, providing the flexibility of hitting other permanent types. This combines some of the best elements of the two, letting you exile while also letting you choose which card type gets exiled. Primarily, it will be another Final Judgment, but it can also, for example, stop Sharuum the Hegemon decks cold, or nuke an Enchantress's field without triggering Karmic Justice, or even stop Mr. Superfriends from ulting his Planeswalkers. Great card.
Obzedat, Ghost Council - The big problem with WB's general options thus far is that Selenia, Dark Angel is pretty bad, while the other three all operate mostly the same, requiring creatures to sacrifice in order to accomplish anything. Obzedat breaks that mold, providing a decent body that drains and flickers, while evading opposing sorcery-speed removal. He can also be combined very well with your own instant-speed removal effects like Pestilence, Nevinyrral's Disk, Rout, and Oblivion Stone, letting you clear the board while still having your own threat.
Orzhov Charm - The charms generally have fairly minor effects for EDH, but this one is just decent enough to consider. Its first mode is pretty limited, but has niche uses - reanimating a creature with Necromancy or similar and then returning both that creature and the reanimating enchantment to your hand provides a ton of value. The second mode is a conditionless kill spell, which is pretty solid for only two mana. The third mode allows you to return any of a number of useful one-drop creatures, like Weathered Wayfarer, Serra Ascendant, and similar.
Treasury Thrull - 6 mana for a 4/4 is pretty weak, but it has Extort combined with a great, Sun Titanesque recursion ability. The ability to recur any artifact, creature, or enchantment every swing provides some great card advantage and recursion, while also providing you tons of opportunities to trigger Extort.
Vizkopa Guildmage - Sanguine Bond is a good card, providing several combos with cards like Exquisite Blood, Beacon of Immortality, Celestial Mantle, and any other massive lifegain cards. Vizkopa lets you spend 3 to apply the Sanguine Bond effect to every opponent, and can easily be stacked to trigger multiple times per lifegain.
Immortal Servitude - If this card reanimated everything with cost X or less, it would be very good. As it stands, it's going to take a bit of effort to coordinate multiple cards that this can reanimate at the same time, which limits its usefulness a bit. Still, hitting Sun Titan, Grave Titan, Kokusho, the Evening Star, Yosei, the Morning Star, and Treasury Thrull in one fell swoop is a pretty good way to close out a game.


Dimir

Call of the Nightwing - Token generation every turn is generally a pretty solid effect. Bitterblossom is a personal favorite of mine, and many others. This provides flying tokens at no drawback as long as you can keep your encoded creature alive and swinging. Great for Opposition-type decks.
Consuming Aberration - It's huge. Almost Lord of Extinction huge. It also mills on every spellcast, which can stock up The Mimeoplasm, Wrexial, the Risen Deep, the black and blue Primordials, and others with targets very easily. My only question is why this didn't merit a Mythic rarity.
Dinrova Horror - It's Recoil on a stick, which is pretty powerful, especially when you can use it multiple times.
Duskmantle Guildmage - It seems like almost all of the guildmages this time around were build with EDH Combos in mind. This one does a good Bloodchief Ascension impersonation. Throw in Mindcrank and it kills anyone who you can mill or damage. It also turns mill like Mind Grind, Consuming Aberration, or even Traumatize lethal very quickly, especially as it can be stacked multiple times.
Duskmantle Seer - I'm not a fan of this guy at all in constructed, but in EDH he might have his place. A lot of people play greedy decks with super-high mana curves, and this can take advantage of that and punish them greatly. Combine with some deck-stacking effects like Elemental Augury, Thoughtpicker Witch, or Psychic Surgery and you can really lay the smack down.
Lazav, Dimir Mastermind - Lazav is a very powerful UB general. He comes down for very cheap, avoids a lot of removal with his Hexproof, and can easily become a massive threat. Many people look at him and think "mill!", but you can trigger his transformation in a variety of ways. Removing a creature, regular style, triggers him. Making someone discard a creature triggers him. Countering a creature triggers him. Just doing regular things that UB loves to do will easily allow this guy to become something like Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, and then the hurt is really on.
Mind Grind - The "Grind" (mill until you hit a land) effect is pretty powerful as far as mill effects go. An EDH deck generally has around 40 lands, and tends to get a number of them into play. Mind Grind for ~20 can kill most of your opponents at once, making this something of an Exsanguinate effect for mill decks.
Mortus Strider - Durdle decks rejoice. You can sac it or clamp it again and again, and it keeps coming back for more. Combine with Aluren for infinite sacs.
Soul Ransom - As far as Control Magic effects go, it's not the most powerful. Coming down for the same cost as Control Magic but offering your opponents the chance to break it, not all that. It gets a lot better, however, when combined with sac outlets, as then you can goad your opponents into giving you +2 cards (and them -2 cards) while still getting rid of the creature in question.
Whispering Madness - Draw 7-type effects like Windfall[/scard] can be very powerful. This takes one of those and gives it Cipher, letting you retrigger more or less at will. This can be an incredibly powerful effect, letting you dig through huge swaths of your deck for combo pieces, or just kill the entire board with Megrim/Liliana's Caress/Underworld Dreams type effects, or even just drawing them out.


Simic

Biovisionary - It's a card that only exists for one reason - You copy it three times and win the game EOT. It's pretty rude, but with cards like Rite of Replication, Spitting Image, and Stolen Identity, it's pretty easy, too. The fact that it wins EOT instead of on the upkeep is what really makes this card a viable wincon.
Fathom Mage - Easily the most interesting of the Evolve cards, as drawing a card every time it evolves is very powerful. Throw in some cards like Forgotten Ancient, and this will easily draw you a huge number of cards. And if you ever exile it for The Mimeoplasm, that's huge.
Master Biomancer - This guy has a lot of potential for token blowouts. Find any way to boost him (Wolfir Silverheart for example, or Forgotten Ancient), and he'll send a token army into overdrive. Also works great with Persist creatures and anything else that either triggers on +1/+1 counters or counts its power.
Mystic Genesis - It's a cheaper Draining Whelk, but one that can't be bounced or flickered for value. Overall, I'm not too impressed.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Crazy crazy. For starters, it's the first UG legend that doesn't push you in a completely linear way (1-mana dude Aggro for Edric, Elfball for Momir, +1/+1 counters into untap abilities for infinite mana and counters Kraj). She draws you a ton of cards while also coming down at a potentially huge size. She's an insane The Mimeoplasm target while also being a great general in her own right.
Unexpected Results - It gives you an effect similar to Temporal Aperture, but is only reusable if it whiffs. Personally, I'm not all that impressed.
Urban Evolution - Divination + Explore is a decent combo. Nothing too insane, but this card is definitely playable.
Zameck Guildmage - Yet another combo-tastic guildmage. With this one, you trigger his first ability and then can infinitely sac your Persist guys, similar to Sage of Fables. He can also just be used a bunch of times to supercharge Biomancer, Fathom Mage, Zegana, or similar, and the draw effect doesn't hurt either.
Biomass Mutation - An interesting Overrun variation. The fact that it's instant speed and scales up on your mana makes this a pretty decent way to turn a few unblocked tokens into a lethal swing. It also has potential applications in Edric.


Gruul
Borborygmos Enraged - A very interesting general. 7 power + trample makes general damage a real threat. Every time he successfully connects, he can garner card advantage. He also turns lands into Lightning Bolts. There are lots of ways to turn this last ability into a table kill, like Storm Cauldron, Life from the Loam + cycling lands, or Creeping Renaissance.
Clan Defiance - X spells are always pretty decent. This one provides the ability to take out up to two creatures in addition to doming a player.
Domri Rade - This little bugger of a Planeswalker is an interesting one. Three mana means he comes down very early, often before people have the ability to quickly remove him. His +1 can garner card advantage, though it is difficult for even the most creature-centric of decks to get above ~35 creatures, meaning the success rate is going to be fairly low. His -2 provides removal assuming you've got a creature that can at least trade with your intended target. And if he ever ults, it's like giving you an untargetable Akroma's Memorial on steroids.
Gruul Charm - The modes on this are very interesting. I'm not sure if they add up to a card you'd want to play in EDH, but they're worth considering. Falter can make the difference between a clogged board and a lethal swing. Brand can reverse many theft effects. Firespout's flyers mode can clear a lot of mid-sized flying creatures.
Gruul Ragebeast - This guy is certainly interesting, though only experience will tell whether or not he's worthwhile. The ability to let all of your creatures Fight on ETB can be great, allowing you to take control of the board. The drawback is that it is mandatory - if your opponents only have one creature and it's bigger than what you've got, you're forced to run your guys uselessly into it.
Rubblehulk - The only Bloodrush creature worth considering for EDH, in my opinion. EDH decks love their land, and this gives you a creature that scales on your land or an uncounterable pump spell for relatively cheap that also scales on your land.
Signal the Clans - It's a creature tutor, but your mileage may vary. You need to run a lot of redundancy in your deck for this to consistently give you a creature that will do what you want it to. Much worse than, say, Eladamri's Call.
Skarrg Guildmage - Probably the weakest EDH guildmage. He's mostly a weak Kamahl, providing trample and 4/4 land creatures, but lacking the ability to take those lands above 4/4, to pump your other guys, or to make opposing wraths backfire.


Boros

Assemble the Legion - Bitterblossom effects are good. This one provides hasty tokens, and the number of tokens increases every turn, which is very good. The cost is a little high, but the impact over time is great.
Aurelia, the Warleader - Doubling your combat steps with haste makes her a potentially backbreaking play. However, if you want to buff your team, Gisela, Blade of Goldknight and Jor Kadeen, the Prevailer already do that, while also providing other options (Gisela amps up persistent damage effects, while Jor works well as a Voltron general). She's certainly interesting, and provides a lot of value with on-attack or on-hit triggers, but of the legends she excites me the least.
Aurelia's Fury - Now here is a card that's exciting. It has a potentially huge amount of versatility, letting you clear the board at instant speed, X spell a player out, stop a Miracle from going off, Silence the board, tap down blockers, delay a Wrath, or some combination of the above.
Foundry Champion - In a RW token deck, this can deal a lot of damage on ETB, especially if flickered a few times.
Sunhome Guildmage - Decent for EDH, but not too exciting. It makes hasty tokens and can pump your board, which can cause a lot of damage to come out of nowhere.
Boros Reckoner - There's a lot of fun tricks that can be done with Mogg Maniac and Spitemare, this just adds another copy.
Shattering Blow - Artifact exile is a relatively rare effect, and a fairly powerful one at that. This gives it to you at a cheap cost on an instant.
Boros Charm - Mass indestructibility is the main reason to run this charm. It's crazy in response to a Wrath of God or Armageddon effect, especially when it's in response to your own Jokulhaups or similar. Doublestrike is also an acceptable mode, and 4 to the face can remove a problematic planeswalker.


Artifacts and Lands

Shocklands - These are reprints, but they're EDH Staples. Anyone who does not yet have them should relish the opportunity to pick them up on the cheap.
Keyrunes - Artifact mana is never terrible in EDH, and the fact that they turn into creatures can be something of a boon. Especially the Boros one, who gets double triggers off of The swords and Umezawa's Jitte, and the Dimir one who can carry them into the red zone unopposed.
Glaring Spotlight - It's an answer to that guy who always spams his Hexproof general or Swiftfoot Boots. It's a bit narrow, but it can also be used as a counter to spot removal or a way to get the whole team through for damage. On a card that can be Trinket Mage'd, that's pretty solid.
Illusionist's Bracers - This thing has all kinds of crazy potential. Slap it on a Kiki-jiki, Mirror Breaker or anyone else with a tap ability and profit. It also has several infinite combos with cards like Tidewater Minion.
Thespian's Stage - Vesuva is a great card for EDH, letting you copy cards like Cabal Coffers, blow up opposing legendary lands, copy ETB land effects, or just fix your mana. Thespian's Stage trades the ability to use ETB effects and the cheap cost of using Vesuva for the ability to change targets and to copy ETB cards like the Ravnica Karoos and Lotus Vale without having to pay the costs.
