I would love to see a primer janusfcb. I enjoy your intelligent posts and respect your opinion. I would be willing to help by sharing my match data and help with the grammar of your primer. This thread was invaluable to me when i started playing this deck and I would love to see it go to the next level. Count me in.

Hey guys. I have a question about sideboard slots for tron. With dredge and tron both being a thing at my LGS pre golgari grave-troll ban, I was fairly happy packing 3x surgical extraction and a one of fulminator mage in my sideboard. Surgical was excellent at slowing down dredge and when combined with fulminator became a build your own crumble to dust for use against tron lands when i was lucky enough to have it. Since the recent ban, dredge has fallen out of favor and some of the best players are now on variations of tron. Should i stick with the surgical extraction and fulminator mage package? I also see a lot of grixis delver and surgical can be useful. Or would i be better off just packing 2x crumble to dust and cutting the surgicals? Of note, I do not see any titanshift and am just looking to increase my percentage slightly against tron as they've become unavoidable at my LGS. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Congrats to burgle on a unique list. I will be doing some testing this week and hope I can add something meaningful to the testing of the traverse build! Pokkén I'm wondering how Oath enables delirium. I understand if you cast a second one the legendary rule sends the first to the graveyard but unless we run 4 how frequently is that going to happen? I will test it but am not sure it generates enough value without running Planeswalker when we can grab the exact things we need with evolution/traverse with delirium instead of drawing 3 cards and hoping we want one.

I like your list but I feel like you need more lands or a couple talismans. 22 lands and no talismans is just too few. Being a control deck we need to hit our land drops. I would cut a couple creatures for a couple islands. Also, I'm not sure about Sanctum of Ugin. It has few targets and you might get more use out of a ghost quarter or tectonic edge.

Personally I don't want a shuffle effect typically unless I'm playing a mill deck. Thirst for knowledge is great to me even when I'm not able to pitch an artifact because it pulls three cards out of my library thinning my deck. As the game goes long I'm typically digging for a finisher if I haven't found it already, and don't want to put a bunch of not needed cards from the graveyard back into my deck diluting late game draws. That's just me

Has anyone ever tried vedalken shackles? I'm looking for some other playable artifact mainboard, i do not have chalices and 11 artifacts (no talisman list) are not enought for thirst i think.. or maybe is too situational?

Vedalken shackles is a sweet card but it's hard to use in our deck because we typically do not have many islands on the field.

We've had three 5-0s in leagues over the past three days in the hands of three different players. The cool thing is that each deck isn't exactly the same. Things are looking up for us in this new meta!!!

I've seen Pierakor's 5-0 list. Does anybody have links to the other two? I need some inspiration for fnm this weekend!

Also, has anybody tested gifts ungiven lately? I know epiphany at the drownyard yields more card advantage but I wonder how powerful picking the exact cards you want could be in this meta. I will test at my fnm but do not have mtgo. If anyone has any insights please share.

Sadly they want me to play it out all the time, so if I can swing with 2 large creatures and win all the while keeping them in control its much faster.

Kinda why I went with Blightsteel, one solid swing and that's game.

Many modern decks can be used to kill themselves after you've achieved slaver lock. Maybe if you give us some examples of the decks you're typically facing we can give you some ideas on how to win once you've mindslavered them. Mindslaver is our best win con and you should be using it.

Does anyone know for sure if a judge can help with this? If you can demonstrate that you have a hard lock with mindslaver and your opponent is making you play it out with the hopes of going to time, it seems to me they could be called for slow play or something.

Since bannings I've gone 40-24 with my deck list and managed to 5-0 once as well.
Some of the "controversial" card choices:
Epiphany is insane, CA engine that scales with mana
TKS, most of you know already but again this is a broken magic card which gives our deck tools we don't have access to otherwise
Gemstone Caverns increases your win% on the draw significantly
Steel Wall/Sidisi's Faithful is the most valuable card vs burn/zoo etc
    Spatial kills so so much

When did you 5-0 with this list? I can't find it on mtgtop8

Yeah clearly a fat Eldrazi package is no longer worthwhile, and that the Archmage is terribly weak here. It's unfortunate that most people who post here don't understand the deck/aren't good at deckbuilding and fill this primer with uselesss/bad information.

So maybe the Archmage is weak but is it necessary to call someone out and basically say they don't understand the deck, they aren't good at deck building and that their information is useless/bad? Why not point out what may be wrong with their thoughts in a constructive manner so that they can learn and improve their understanding of the deck, deck building and ability to contribute good information? Isn't that what this forum is for?

In defense of megaman125, although his list is UW tron and probably should be posted in that forum, it is basically mono u tron splash white and I don't think we should be so dismissive of the fat eldrazi package. That list did place 6th at Michigan states, I checked.

Despite his eldrazi threats being untutorable he has plenty of early interaction and sideboard cards to get to the late game where landing any eldrazi bomb is likely game winning. I don't see running large eldrazi being an impossibility even in mono u tron without eye.

The list would just have to be tweaked to accommodate them. An extra o stone or two and some more card draw like anticipate or even chromatic star to dig faster. I mean casting and activating mindslaver costs 10 mana and the mindslaver lock requires 13 mana, from at minimum 7 lands. The eldrazi he's running cost 10 mana and can be cast off 4 lands. Its worth looking into.

Let's not dismiss ideas just because they dont fit preconceived notions when they come from a player who clearly did well with his list. Let's keep growing this deck and not get stuck on the same build.

I have to agree with you there. I've been having a hard time letting go of courser despite my testing well with James Wager's list. In addition to being a good blocker, the life gain off lands can be quite nice as well as the ability to play a revealed land off the top of the library when we need to or just to thin the deck some. That being said I'm still torn. The revealed card can be too much info for the opponent sometimes. I'll keep testing.

checkout how aggressive the new modern format is. i think a few courser of cruphix may be a good thing in this new modern world.
How bad do you guys think we need spellskite in the our SB? what about grave hate? i don't think we need to worry about it to much in the coming months, but maybe we do.
I also see that U decks did not do well. How do you all feel about running a one of Fog in the SB?

There is a 7-1 rg scapeshift deck piloted by James Wager in the second link you posted. He doesn't run courser of kruphix and he has two spellskite in the sideboard. This list must have handled the aggressive decks reasonably well. He has 4 lightning bolt main and 3 anger of the gods SB. He also has 2 spellskite sb which i'm assuming are for infect, boggles and maybe even burn and affinity. I really like his list and will be running it in the future.

Would you guys consider adding a copy of krark clan ironworks for the infinite combo? Or is that too slow/unreliable?

Thanks ghost empire. Just found out that link isn't accessible in the mobile view. Found it when I switched to desktop view. I will also check out your twitch. I am also a u tron player!
