I think it's worth mentioning that this card is pretty bad against Rites.

"Oh, okay, end of your turn discard my Angel of Serenitys, Unburial Rites, Lingering Souls, Loxodon Smiters?"

So, with that being an extremely popular deck right now, I would stick it in the sideboard for now. Post rotation though...

You got it backwards: think how good it is IN rites! You can reanimate it early or hard cast it off cavern. Just need to add some red mana. You're correct that you probably just play it in the sideboard but it likely means your rites deck never loses to esper or any other control deck ever again.

To those complaining/rejoicing about modern/legacy elves and Beck - until Heritage Druid taps for UGG or Llanowar Elves taps for U, this won't be part of that deck.

Not only is the color a huge challenge, but the difference between 1 mana and 2 mana is phenomenal. Compare it to a spell in standard costing 6 mana instead of 3.

    4 Breeding Pool
    4 Misty Rainforest
    4 Verdant Catcombs
    4 Arbor Elf

    Blue mana solved...

And your mana comparison is way off. 2:1 =\= 6:3 in magic. This will be a card and will make elves! a deck again. Take a look at LSV's I-got-glimpse-banned-in-modern deck from the community cup as a starting point. Putting blue mana into that deck would be easy and you'll just need to replace the banned GSZ's.

The cleanest route is easily the best.

    Soul's EndWB
    Sorcery Rare

    Exile target creature

    Clean, simple, awesome.

I've been playing both Travis and LSV's lists. And I gotta say, LSV's is just flat better. Worldfire is only good against the GW decks and you already have a good matchup there. The 2 angels plus Cavern gives you better enivitabilty and ways to fight the counter decks. I'm pretty much playing LSV's list except with the following changes so far.

    -1 Sphinx's Revelation
    -1 Sunpetal Grove

    +1 Kessig Wolf Run
    +1 Temporal Mastery

I cut a revelation since once it resolves, it usually finds another so I often only need the 3. I found that the decks best turns revolve around temporal mastery since you want to miracle it to 'ramp' into ranger's path. There's also the cast off Alchemist Refuge on your opponents end step turns and of course just killing the opponent with it via Omniscience.

Kessig Wolf Run lets you push through damage with thragtusk to kill walkers and makes Faithmender just absurd in the red matchup.

Last changes in the board from LSV's list is -2 Dispel for +2 Curse of Echoes. Not sure if it's actually better but it's very very difficult for the control player to beat you if stick it.

With so many good rares, I'm excited to draft this set online as you can go infinite really easily since you should be pulling at least one rare of value from each draft if not more. Glad to see the rares and uncommons are the chase cards again.

How is this card not good? Lilliana does nothing but give people choices yet she still sees play. I see this very much like Lilliana. And why does everyone think creatures will be on the board when this hits.

    4 Desecration Demon
    4 Bonfire of the Damned
    4 Mutilate

Cast any/of those before or after the demon and you'll be in a great spot.

Now think of the removal that can get rid of the demon:

    Dreadbore
    Unsummon
    Morbid Tragic Slip
    Murder
    Supreme Judgement
    Mutilate for 6
    Bonfire for 6

That's a really small pool of removal and a lot of those are conditional. The demon will play a lot better than you think

Wait wait wait... I get a Vindicate, and a Planeswalker with 2 loyalty after I vindicate and it's only 5 mana. 3rd best planeswalker printed to date. Great stuff

People are seriously underestimating the viability. Battle of wits is good. Think about the environment right now. Counters are at a minimum and it's mostly creature on creature battles. Battle of wits attacks from a different angle and doesn't require you to spend multiple turns milling the opponent. All you need to do is survive and stick battle of wits.

And the inconsistency isn't that big of an issue. 4 Terminus, 4 Day of Judgment, 4 BSZ all do the same thing, so it's like having twelve copies of the same card. 12/240 (rough guess of necessary deck size) = 3/60.

I remember during Odyssey block this was a big deck in pro play, and while I saw it win a bunch of times, I never truly understood what actual strategic advantage it had. Granted you had a bunch of tutors, but why wasn't it better to just play a straight control, aggro or combo deck? I would love to play it outside of casual, I'm just wondering. I used to play it against my friends, but that was just for fun. In tournaments my 'crazy' decks are a lot easier to win with.

With BoW, you get tutors AND a lot of deck slots. This means you get to run bullets for specific decks in the main. Sometimes you get BoW, sometimes you get deck specific card to give you more time.

If I were to build it, it would be U/B and then w, r, or maybe both. Red gives you some more sweepers as well as cheap looting to help dig for tutors and BoW. White gives you the cards to stall the game like sweepers, Gideon, and lingering souls.

    I don't get magic players.

    1. Anyone who thought shocks were going to be in the core set is a fool. WotC has said time and time again that new players don't like lands that cause them life loss because theyre not experienced enough to know how minimal the drawback is. They would never put them in the core set, but they've alluded to them returning so expect them in RtR.

    2. When WotC does give us the shocklands, the M10 and INN duals become way better.

In short, these are great to keep around for the time being

No, Future Sight says "You may play the top card of your library." It is not in your hand.

That's not how magic works. The card does what it says in Oracle. Click the link you put on the card. Its says you may play the top card of your library. The text on future sight as printed is out of date

Show and Tell and Academy Rector would be the most efficient ways to cheat this into play, off the top of my head. The thing is, why cheat Omniscience into play when you can cheat something that just wins the game into play? Sure, Omniscience will let you then cast all those broken cards for free, but you're adding an unnecessary middle step.

Put this card in your EDH decks with blue in them where it belongs, and don't hurt yourself trying to think of other ways to make it cool.

The big reason to sneak or rector this is the ability to do more. Showing Griselbrand is great, but that'll likely be the turn. Omni means you can draw a bunch then immediately cast the cards you draw. Same with Emrakul. Showing Emrakul is great but it leaves you open for a turn. Omni gives you a turn so you can attack immdiately. Also, it means that your awesome legends can tell Karakas to eat it. I mean sure, they can keep karakasing Emrakul but that'll give you another turn.

I think this card is definitely a boost to show and dream halls decks

    Unlikely but val-u-licious play.

Play this, sac Reveillark, draw/gain 4, get back another copy of this and Druid's Familiar, soulbond to the original disciple, sac it, gain/draw 4 and have a 2/1 and the familiar in play.

    Value!!!!!!!!!!!! Unplayable Value!!!!!!!!

enters tapped and produces colorless mana, i fail to see a large use for this in any deck. If it didn't enter tapped, then it could have provided a little oomph for agro decks. For now, I'm calling it a junk rare.

Yup, terrible card. Cuz this plus Glistner Elf or Inkmoth nexus or Invisble Stalker is awful. Lands that do stuff and add mana are unplayable...

Can you send me every copy you open? Last I checked, dominating combat for a land drop and 0 mana is amazing.

Ummm... You guys saying that angel sucks versus Lingering Souls do realize that the angel is awesome WITH Lingering Souls. In fact, making my lingering souls better than your lingering souls since I get to use my tokens to attack while you have to block. Throw in some SoWP to up the pressure, and one drop mana dorks to give me speed and your playing from behind all game long.
