Maria should target with the first ability, its not that they have to, they just should. Triggering on each upkeep and each endstep seems a little harsh, if it was just your upkeep and endstep or just everyone's upkeep it would seem more balanced. Possibly over the top as is though it might just be a rather pushed T1

Jekiki might win the award for most broken legend ever. A free 12 mana 9 power(6 of it haste) spread across 7 bodies, that only requires you to tap six lands, and will repeat each turn. This is beyond insane, you don't even have to try to make a broken deck with them at the head, you would be hard pressed to make a deck that isn't broken when using them. T -3 better than every card currently on the banned list.

Currently Wizards uses create instead of 'Put a token on the battlefield' adopting this would save you a lot of typing and please a number of people who read these threads. Yton is still an Archon without being an archon it feels really weird, last time I'll bring this up.

I agree that Demise is strong but acceptable. It's going to kill about the same amount of stuff as Doom Blade, Go For The Throat or Victim of Night

I don't think Jex, Corrupted Cleric is under powered. The ability is very strong, so the power/toughness is deliberately toned down, especially considering the lifelink. Keep in mind Oloro is a Giant that costs 2 more, doesn't have lifelink and isn't that much bigger (power/toughness). Oloro is also very pushed. Jex is blue because she's a wizard that draws you a lot of cards without a drawback.
Oloro cost you 2 more to cast but will gain you more life than Jex's lifelink ever will. You control Oloro's effect as opposed to your opponent controlling Jex's. Oloro's draw has you opponents lose life as opposed to requiring you to lose life. And he is more than twice Jex's size so unless you think Oloro is broken Jex is significantly weaker so they could have a larger body with the reduced cost.

Also Jex isn't a wizard that draws cards without drawback, the drawback is the triggering condition. You've hidden the life payment of black in a mandatory loss but the effect is still black. Other than the powerlevel Jex could be done in Mono-Black.
I'm not sure where you're getting the comparison between Oloro and Jex, their play styles are not comparable at all. Jex is not a life gain card in a fashion similar to Oloro. Oloro gains life and draws cards. In Commander, this is going to draw aggro and people will punch your face. Jex does the opposite. People don't want to punch your face, because they'll also be giving you cards. Jex is a deterrent, while Oloro is a magnet for aggro.
I'm not sure what you think you are saying or responding to. These cards were being compared to as esper colored legends, yes Commander is one of the biggest factor but not the only one for judging cards. And no one was comparing playing styles, if you take playing styles into account then it is unrealistic to compare most cards at all. No one had brought these up as exclusively about Commander, and unless explicitly stated I assume cards here are meant for either a cube or someones personal set so power level outside of Commander needs to be considered. If this is meant exclusively for commander then we can bring up that they are incomparable due to the radically different play styles they encourage, but I was talking about the cards as cards not specifically as generals in Commander. I still stand by my statement, even as a general, that Jex seems a bit underpowered being a 3 colored, 4 mana, 2/2.

Demise is a nice clean effect that is only a little pushed but probably exceptable.

Pryea's ability is very awkward. I think splitting it into two different abilities the way alwaysatoad did is a better option, and because you're not adding other abilities there should be room. Though it is "becomes the target" not "is the target" and you left off opponent's control.

Jex is a little underpowered and feels like they're blue for no real reason. As they are, they should be at least a 3/3, being that many colors means they should have a higher powerlevel, but if you cut the blue then a 2/2 might be fine.

The only one that isn't significantly overpowered and over-complicated is Soul Extraction.

Angel of Blood is way too busy, and the beast you make won't have devour or bloodthirst so if you cut this ability and maybe G the whole card looks better.

Death is such a wall of text that it hurts to look at. I understand the want to make the creatures die as 0/0 but you cut down significantly on the complexity by just making it -X/-X where X is toughness(This is the same for the Grim Reaper). To keep its overall functionality you can't really cut any of its ability so no matter when it is going to be a massive wall of text.

Grim Reapoer is way over the top on power, but you can keep each of his abilities similar. Change his + to only a +1 and target creature and he can keep the rest of his abilities as they are. If you don't want to drop it that much you can leave it a +2 only target creature and change his - to a -3. Though this is still pushing the power level

Master of Lightning's is a little over the top, if it was non combat damage it would probably be fine. The last ability just doesn't belong on a mono red card, if you change it to redirect instead then it is perfectly within pie and should accomplish the same thing nearly every time. 4 might be a little cheap for this guy but it doesn't scream broken with these changes.

Soul Extraction is actually a little on the weak side, but just because of its heavy color requirements. This would be pushed at 4UB and fine at 2UUBB

I don't think RW should punish your opponent so hard when you are ahead. I really like how it starts with catch-up abilities though they feel too white. Then it switches to punishers if you are winning which seems overly oppressive, and still feels too white. As is, a T0 commander that would be called to ban by everyone it was ever played against. If you play up the balancing aspect the card can sit at the top of T1 for RW, just make sure there are obvious red aspects, making a check on life deal damage. Use red exile draw for a check on hand size. Anyway you can make this feel red would improve, because currently they look mono white.

Why does everyone think a symmetrical Time Warp should be at the same cost and rarity as the original? CARD 1 could cost 1UU at rare.

I read the card wrongly (I thought it was a enchantment that gave each player a extra turn every round... I know right).

Yeah, the card could cost 1UU and should have the exile clause.
Without the exile clause, which is how its written, it doesn't seem safe to print at less than 5 because of recurring this card still gives you infinite turns, and if you put it down to less than 5 it becomes too easy. Though I agree you can drop the cost by adding the exile clause, but I would still make it 4.

  • posted a message on Does Testament of Faith die after combat?
When it becomes a creature it behaves just like every other creature, even though it is an enchantment. If it it dealt lethal damage then it will die, if it is hit with a spell that destroys creatures it will be destroyed. However it will not simply die because combat ended, it will simply stop being a creature. So if you pay 5 to make it a 5/5 and it blocks as 3/3 it won't die but if you pay 1 to make it a 1/1 and it blocks a 2/2 it will die.

The new Rakis is a solid T1 without going into the realm of broken, probably.

Keria is still too strong, not nearly as strong as before but still over the top. First I assume the second ability is supposed to last till end of turn, if it isn't it needs some kind of tracker to help remember. Second while each ability seems fair on their own the first ability combined with the last ability is over the top for repeatable creature removal. If you swap the cost on the first and second ability it probably solves all problems to put this at a solid T1.

Yton is an archon, but not...did you not want to change the name? The slight change to ability is a lot better, it gives you real options now. Also opening the colors doubles those options and fixes the color pie problem. I think this is a T2 but I would have to really sit down and craft and play this deck to get a proper feel, should this be hatebears with value etbs? How deep do you go on the 2cmc? It leads to a more interesting experience than your last one.

Rakis's first ability is amazing but not quite overpowered so this is good. But the second ability is deceptively weak because it will only realistically let you cast instants which you would have to saturate your deck with to get any real use out of this. Though honestly I will still put it at T1 because it is in such a horrible color combination your options for anything other than "ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK!!" are incredibly limited.

Keria is a T0 broken beyond reason and would be banned immediately

Yton is really weird. It is doing something white shouldn't do at a powerlevel no color would be interested. If you are trying to make a token doubler then just make it do that instead of jumping through hoops, though it shouldn't be white. If you are just trying to copy every 1 drop then cut the mana cost and make it nontoken and you have an interesting competitive card. As is T4, too slow and too limited.

We don't have much concrete details, but it is less than 100 years because Teysa is said to be 112 in her newest story and she was alive and influential in the original book. Though we get no official age for her in the original timeline she can't be too young because she is rather accomplished.

Loyalty Lies does seem to work as mono black.

I don't really have any idea of what to do to Kelia, its just an aesthetics thing, better game play and function need to come first.

Loyalty's Rewards should be GW not (G/W), the first ability isn't green and the second ability isn't white. It should also probably cost 3, the same as Oath of Gideon, but it might be fine.

Where Loyalty Lies shouldn't be hybrid either, but shouldn't be white at all. The effect seems BG, UG, or maybe BU. White doesn't do this kind of effect but G and U each shift counters while B removes them. This definitely needs to cost 3 simply because it can kill walkers at instant speed which is a big deal. Though it is very narrow because it needs two walkers to function at all but the benefit from having one while your opponent has one is immense. It would probably be better as "Remove all loyalty counters from target planeswalker. You may add that many loyalty counters to another planeswalker." It makes it stronger but the first card is so unreasonably narrow that it might need this.

Kelia, Thermo-Alchemist is interesting, but I don't like how the abilities are split at + is U, - is (U/R), Ultimate is R. I prefer when the ultimate is the combo ability and their other abilities are mono color, though this is more personal preference on my part than good design.

  • posted a message on Finish The CYCLE.
I don't like the break in symmetry of this cycle, ideally it should have been two cards of each color one with an ally kicker and one with an enemy kicker. However Black and Red only got 1 card but red is represented 4 times...ruins the aesthetics.

Either way lets look for a Black spell with a White kicker, normally I wouldn't want to use black to destroy again but both of white's destroy an artifact or enchantment so this should be fine.

    2B
    Sorcery
    Kicker 2W
Destroy target nonblack creature. If ~ was kicked gain life equal to that creatures power plus its toughness.

Might need to be uncommon...its hard to tell. I left nonblack to fit this old feel of the card but new cards wouldn't have something like that.

For a blue card with a green kicker, I think Vines of Vastwood does this perfectly.

    U
    Instant
    Kicker
Target creature gains Hexproof until end of turn. If ~ was kicked that creature gets +4/+4 until end of turn.

Hold on, do you put all revealed cards into you hand? On my first read I assumed you only got the creatures but rereading it looks like the other cards go to your hand as well. If this was you intent then the card is unprintable with out changeing the activation cost to at least CMC of 8 and even that might be too cheap. Building your deck right their ability is Enter the Infinite for 2 which is insane. If the ability is only meant to get the two creatures with CMC 3 or less then I stand by my statement. If it is meant to get all the revealed cards then I say this is an unprintable card whose only purpose is to ruin games.
