I, for one, don't exactly know what Tom did during his time in R&D.
However, whenever i read something he wrote or saw him talking in a video I felt like the guy was in his own world that never quite matched up with real magic.
Personally, i think it's going to take a major shake-up of R&D over the next few years to further evolve magic (which must keep evolving if it is to remain popular).
Standard desperately needs a break from the 2 current types of games that play out: fast aggro kills or trading haymakers til one person bricks on their draw step.
Don't know if you guys saw this already, but in Craig Wescoe's 9/23 article "Financial Predictions for Innistrad" (link: http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/article.asp?ID=10025), at the end of the article he has a list of 24 rares that he says are garbage and doesn't expect any of them to rise above $1. Then in the comments Brian Kibler said "I have already preordered nearly 200 copies of a card on your 'not a good buy' list."
Brass Squire
Dross Ripper
Hexplate Golem
Magnetic Mine
Shimmer Myr
are in the database, but don't show up when I do a search for Mirrodin Besieged Artifacts
It seems they misspelled the card types as "Aritfact" instead of Artifact on Magnetic Mine, Hexplate Golem and Dross Ripper. It's also misspelled in Fangren Marauder's text as well. The Artifact type looks like it was left off of Brass Squire and Shimmer Myr.
Whoops. Genesis Wave (also Chimeric Mass) is a result of me not including X in my regex of cost components I'm looking for when processing the Salvation spoilers. Should have a fixed version up shortly.
Mindslaver has the typo because that's the way it is in the spoiler, and I don't care enough to fix it right now. The card will be fixed once the set's released on Gatherer and we can grab all of the info direct from the source.
EDIT: Aaand the full Gatherer spoiler is up. Both issues should now be fixed.
I'd run fetches and Steppe Lynx over the Memnite/Opal/Glint Hawk package.
Actually I would cut the Freeblades, put in another Kazandu and White Knight, cut the glint hawks and moxes, put in 4 steppe lynx and another ajani, take out 12 plains and add 4 of each white fetch, 2 evolving wilds and 3 dread statuary, replace condemn with journey to nowhere (because you want to be able to remove blockers. Oust would be another option but it works against your aggressiveness) and add either another journey, ajani or elspeth. That's a lot of changes, i know . Squadron Hawk is another option for a replacement for something, just because it gives you tons of creature refill. Also your Memnites are going to be pretty bad in this configuration without an ajani out.
If you want to stick with the glint hawks you'll prolly have to wait for the rest of the set to come out before the deck can truly come together. Needs more artifacts, preferablly 0 casting cost ones. Otherwise your glint hawks will be dead a lot of the time.
Going the stoneforge mystic route is also an option.
It depends on the deck. If you have 5+ casting cost cards in your deck that you need to cast and/or you're only running a few creatures, then Molten-Tail seems subpar.
If you have a faster deck that tops out around 4 mana with plenty of creatures, then Molten-Tail seems awesome.
So does this mean I can rules lawyer someone if i use a mindslaver on them and say "take your clothes off and jump around like an idiot" and they refuse to do it? Can i has rules lawyering for that?

Divine Reckoning without a shadow of a doubt.

As is Slagstorm.
Nice! Thank you
EDIT: Genesis Wave is missing its mana cost.
EDIT: Mindslaver says play instead of player.

It's defs not the tabletop gaming part.
Mindslaver can come online shockingly fast these days with all the crazy accel. Going to be awesome and terrifying if it finds a spot in standard.

*crosses fingers*
4x Forest
4x Khalni Garden
4x Eldrazi Temple
4x Tectonic Edge
4x Mystifying Maze
4x Dread Statuary
4x Wurmcoil Engine
4x Lodestone Golem
4x Juggernaut
4x Pilgrim's Eye
4x Runed Servitor
4x Steel Overseer
4x All Is Dust
4x Eldrazi Monument
4x Everflowing Chalice
Super-duper fun times. I think there's a chance for mono-artifact to be good again with Scars block!
Also, i'm pretty sure Wurmcoil Engine beats Baneslayer Angel at her own game.
EDIT: Glad to not have to splash red for this effect.
