wtf...Mods should have been a bit more involved here and need to fix this. These are worthless forums if this is something that can happen with no warning. *warning* was the previous infractions described in Nikachu's video, but obviously Nikachu is someone we want around, and now he's pretty much not going to bother with MTGS.

The white was purely for the two SB disenchant. I needed a way to remove Worship, Phyrexian Unlife, Platinum Empyrion and Ensnaring Bridge.

They Show and Tell an Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, you opt for Gilded Drake, you now have the Emrakuel, and they have a 3/3 flier...hmmm, this doesn't work does it, target and all...???...but I Harbinger of the Tides Emrakuel's all the time in Modern...online, https://youtu.be/3KC2Y_-NPuw?t=1m58s

Ok, quick check of the rules, yes, Emrakuel can be the target of colored permanents, and all is well. Gilded Drake works perfectly well to combat Show and Tell decks.

Gilded Drake side and aggressive mulligan into it seems like a half decent plan.

Also if AV becomes a huge thing, the white splash could be used for something like Pull from Eternity or some processor like effect similar to Wasteland Strangler.

Here's the thing about AV: it's only kind of okay against decks *that run AV themselves*. We're better off exploiting that than make our deck much clunkier with a slow card that operates against our gameplan. Off and on people have jammed a Redirect or two in the SBs. If that card has any real potential whatsoever, now's the time to shine.

We've also got access to chalice for 0 and hardcast disrupting shoal (if you're into that thing like I am) to answer it as well.
Can you imagine the tilt factor of successfully pulling off the Redirect!?

UW Control seems to be the flavour of the month lately, I've been seeing it alot. Its an interesting meta development for sure considering the impending changes that will happen next week. Also expect to see burn back in force for a while.

Yeah, I've been facing it quite a lot recently, more than ever. It's been really popular and it's quite challenging matchup to play against although it can be fun.
I don't really mind the matchup. I have a very decent record against most of the lists. It was annoying though last night I had a match where I didn't realize it was the budget version until midway through G2 (I won G1 pretty quickly). I brought in Pithing Needle Naming Celestial Colonnade only to never have them play any, and they played the gain life land and some other budget replacements. Gideon Jura almost got them there, and I knew about it from G1, and could have named IT instead of colonnade...I ended up losing a very long G2, and took a G3 quickly for the match win.

I agree, the value titan lists are easier.

For the record, the UW control lists I'm talking about are like this:
    http://mtgtop8.com/event?e=11791&d=267325&f=MO
    as there is some variation.
Few counterspells, few draw spells, few creatures, just an absolute *****-ton of removal.
Because they play so many wipes, and so many spot removal spells, they can judiciously throw around boardwipes, meaning baiting one out isn't always a game breaker.
Personally, I would not keep spreading seas in here, assuming you have relevant sideboard space.
Yes, this is pretty much the list the guy plays locally, but replace 2 Condemn with 1 sun titan and 1 dragonlord ojutai. All the control of that version, with inevitability or dragonlord/titan once they're in complete control of the game.

I don't feel UW control is a bad matchup at all, IF they're not the titan control version. A guy at a local shop runs titan and dragonlord ojoutai, and THAT is a rough matchup, but the normal UW control I usually feel is in my favor.

Second ever sanctioned Legacy event for me tonight, went 3-1 getting 2nd place (a 4-0 took 1st).

    R1 L - Pox, it was ugly, 0-2
R2 W - Some variant of delver I think, it went insanly quick with me playing multiple TNN after T2 Chalice on 1, he tried to counter my chalice, but I countered it, and I think that was the only spell both games that he played...2-0
R3 W - Modern mono white soldier deck, I had Jitte both games... 2-0
R4 W - Punishing Loam, I stole G1 with TNN and 5 lords, he had some removal...but 5 lords...G2 was really long, I had T1 tormod and I cracked it right away to catch a T1 loam from him put into the gy with faithless looting. I T2 pithing needle on Seismic Assault I knew he had from watching previous rounds. He eventually finds Ancient grudge that I counter. I also counter the flashback. He eventually finds Abrupt Decay for pithing needle, but at this point I have Kira and Lords with Mutavaults. He Firespouts, and then takes out each mutavault but we're both top decking at this point and he's at 2 life. I draw creatures that he removes, I draw mutavaults that he eventually can't deal with. I find my one of hydroblast to destroy his seismic assault and he does find another loam at 2 life, but I swing in for the win! I didn't sideboard in Grafdigger's not aware of him having punishing fire...phew.

My list for tonight still in progress sideboard:

I look forward to following this thread more and getting more into legacy!

Invasive Surgery is definitely a card to consider. Dispel has done good work for us over the years, and this one is the sorcery equivalent with conditional upside. Our opponent is going to have to have to remove/discard some of our things in order for us to trigger that upside, but the base effect is good enough for the card to be under consideration.
Theoretically, this could act as a surgical extraction for Supreme Verdict correct? And other problem sorceries...Scapeshift, Thoughtseize, Inquisition of Kozilek, Abrupt Decay, etc...It won't counter the uncounterable ones of course, but would remove any future ones...That would seem to make the control matchup that much easier.

I do see getting 4 card types in the graveyard a problem though...Creature, land, easy, maybe a countered enchantment or instant?

    P.S. I can't spell Thoughtseize =/

I'd get by for a while without Chalice if you can. The price is ridiculous at the moment due to Eldrazi. Come April there may be a flood of Chalices in the market.

Honestly one of the real crimes is Nikachu gets so little attention/coverage. I know not everyone agrees with the decklist from time and time and card choices but he is out there representing us on a near daily effort and providing info to people. The problem of course is that a good chunk of his views come from this forum, he has talked with Hunter Nance and Paul Rietzl and the like. He isn't the be all and end all of course, but it is still a huge wealth of information for match ups and basic questions (the classic minamo/oboro questions) that still plague our players.

Majors really fumbled in the last tournament and Hunter Nance doesn't really play or write enough to get the level of attention that his peers do. If we had someone for Merfolk the way Tom Ross is for infect it would be a done deal.

Also its all about Manta Riders
So we just need Nikachu to quit school, give up the dream of becoming rich, and go on the Pro Tour circuit, copy that. Nikachu...get on that...!
