Why would Absorb have an advantage over a card like Render Silent? Render Silent seems as though it could be tried as a mainboard replacement for Timely Reinforcements? Life gain may be more important in the current meta, I am just always on the fence with regard to three mana counter spells.
I think 8-9 sources of black is correct for BG. I have been fooling around with a mana base with no fetches in a standard BG shell. Sideboard is more of a tool box for cordable hatebears. The mana base has been great so far I have placed 38th at scg classic Cincinnati (melted down in the last 2 rounds), 15th at a Chicago tourney (28 players), also have done well in weekly modern events. I have only won 1 FNM with BG elves, but even when I lose, the deck is fun and I have fun.

Thoughts on Jace, Vryn's Prodigy as an inclusion? I like jay2rock's list and I like quart's list (darkness i think is sideboard, but may be a good meta call atm). thanks for all the ideas, great thread.
No bans. All of the decks are fair and kind of fun (not all), also modern is a healthy format. Looking at Legacy, which i love, the last GP (or whatever it is called) was seriously boring as funk to watch (Mircles vs miracles vs miracles vs miracles). Modern at least is new and fresh, new decks can always pop-up out of nowhere and run train on the meta.
Thanks for the replies, I play a more control version, only 2 mist bind cliques, so I think the sword of choice for me is still FaF. I also agree that playing mistbind clique is extremely risky at times and you may end up allowing the opponent to 2 for 1 us. Usually mist bind comes down turn 5/6. It is rare when someone taps out or allows me the opportunity to champion a faery with only one on the battle field. I will say I rarely if ever side out bitterblossom, it is so crucial to the tempo and control aspect of the faeries game plan. I also think that 3 cryptic commands seems to be perfect. When I have two cryptic command in the deck it seems I am always wishing for a cryptic most games. When I max out cryptic command (4) it seems a bit clunky. Still not sure what the optimal build is, but for my meta 2-mistbind and 3-cryptics has been working wonders.
I am still not sure how I feel about the time warp faeries build. I have a question about the swords, which one is most optimal? I always use sword of feast and famine due to the ability to attack and untap my lands I attacked with. I have seen people run different swords on this forum and would like to know their thoughts on the different swords that can be utilized.
