Anyone have any idea what would happen if you donated this to your teammate in 2HG? For instance, if player A donates this to B, then A runs out of cards in their library and attempts to draw, what happens? What would happen if the team reached 0 life?
I think the point was that you leak the ritual that would let them play Tendrils, hence preventing them from using their nice big storm count, as opposed to leaking a single copy.
Defense grid is a symmetrical effect - works the same whether you control it or your opponent does. So, apart from the fact that now the control player's counterspells cost 3 extra, his hand size was reduced by 3 for nothing.
I should just add one thing - with Merieke, if you untap her and tap her to take another creature again before the first activation has resolved, you can actually keep both creatures. As long as she is tapped when an ability resolves and doesn't untap again, the creature will stay in play.
I can really see this working. Unless they have a critter with CMC higher than 10, then not only can't it be destroyed by targeted removal, it will go unblocked. Also, playing this early won't really matter, as if you just aim to win in 1 swing, then you don't really need to block.
Also, if playing with Brion Stoutarm and he is the next highest CMC creature, you can protect him until the gargadon comes into play.
I can't see you doing anything wrong. Only thing that comes close is saying "Take". But even then, if he unmorphed while damage was on the stack, then he would only gain 2 life and you take 2 damage.
I get the feeling this would be hilarious if I got it. Care to explain it to us math-ignorant people?
If you insist...
A differential acting on a constant-value function will give zero, while a differential function d/dx acting on e^x will give e^x, however d/dy acting on e^x also gives zero (as e^x is constant as y is varied).
So basically, constant value was scared because he would disappear, but e^x was bold because he knew he would be unchanged by the differential. What he didn't bargain on was being differentiated with respect to y.
Honestly, if the full spoiler is correct, I think the new persecute will be Head Games. It effectively gets rid of their entire hand, at the small price of thinning their draws slightly, as if you do it right, it turns their X card hand into the worst X card hand possible.
While not those exact words (especially as it refers to a land you control), it uses the same "of any type"

At the beginning of your second main phase, add W or G to your mana pool.
I don't think this is too overpowered, as it will still give you mana if you don't want it, plus it restricts when you can play spells.
