What are the viable Baneslayer Angel alternatives in Standard right now? One of those costs a couple of arms plus a leg and a half here, and my body parts isn't exactly for sale right now..
I'm looking for white (or even other colors) win conditions that has 5cc or less, which is at home as a set in a control deck. Not neccesarily cheap, but not that expensive either.
Battlegrace Angel is the nearest alternative (with Flying and, when attacking, Lifelink) but lacks First Strike. Lightwielder Paladin has First Strike plus Removal, no Evasion or Lifelink. Jar Jar Sphinx has Flying and Untargetability. However, all three of these dies to a head-on collision with Baneslayer Angel due to first strike...
Anyway, Which of these guys do you think I should use in a Control Deck? Any other Alternatives?
If I was looking for a Bant Aggro deck, I would have posted this on the Competative section along with the other bant decks. I posted this here on Critique coz it's NOT A BANT AGGRO deck. No Jenara, No War Monks (some on the sideboard though), No Wiltleaf Lieges - I'm tired of playing with those cards, since I've been using Bant Aggro since Shards was released.
The point of the deck is the combined untargetable and unblockable traits of the Outlanders with Rafiq or Finest Hour - a very "meta"-based deck which relies on multiple Exalted cards to further boost the double strike or double attack.
And about your "Combo", a turn 2 terminate can kill your attacker. How about this:
Of course, a well timed removal will still stop this BUT at least my attacker has untargetability AND evasion wrapped in itself. The Deft Duelists has untargetability but no evasion (but it will stop early blades), and I was thinking about adding some blades of my own: Naya Hushblade has shroud. Another card that caught my eye was Behemoth Sledge.
The ziggurats are a hassle, I can't cast Ardent plea on turn 2/3, or finest hour on turn 4/5 and I'm really starting to hate Honor of the Pure, since more than once I cascaded on turn 2 hoping to get a critter, but ended up with another enchantment. Maybe I'll cut those to 2 or 3..
PS> Bant Decks seems like the same over and over again because people like you guys refuse to acknowledge the competativeness of other U/W/G decks, judging it before even thinking about what's different and how it works. This deck was one of the top decks in PT Honolulu 2009, and I don't think it got there without merit.
I've been playing bant since the start of Alara Block, and I really love the exalted theme, so when I saw this list here, I tried it out immediately. Here's my take on the deck:
No removal, Meddling Mage as the only disruption, and really aggresive from turn 2 onwards. I moved the Bant Charms to the Sideboard, and from my testing in here in my area (Proxys for the M10 cards), I'm having a particularly hard time with Esper decks (Adjucator and Steel Wind, in particular)
I didn't like assault because my mana base are Alara-block (I don't have Reflecting Pools) and I also didn't have Ajanis so I improvised with Elspeth & Nicol.
During testing, I frequently side in the naya charms for recurring fulminator or rain of tears, as well as the hellions to clear the bugs... I'm considering swapping the Esper Charms for Naya Charms..
Is the list above a good example of a T2 Panda? I stopped playing magic before lorwyn and I'm looking for a competative deck. Panda looks fun ^^ I want to know which cards to buy..
Will there be a Competative T2 UR Deck now that standard is 'whole' (two blocks + one edition) ??
My last deck was a UR Izzetron, and I stopped playing for a whole year, but right now I'm going back to magic. I'd really love to create a UR Deck again, combo if possible and T2 Competative, however I'm unfamiliar with the current environment.
Any comments/suggestions/ideas? (Btw, Money/Card availability is not an issue)
Non-Active Player: In response, Twincast
So, twincast first resolves- targets NAP (himself). Active player's Time Warp resolves- targets AP.
Active player ends his turn.
Who's turn is it? Both players have extra turns (after this one) ^^
You need card tags in future posts. Read the Forum Guidelines. -Carsten

edit: thanks though~! now how do you close threads here.. :/
I tried to build the deck online, but I don't recognize the foil DCI cards at the upper right part of the table Anyone know what are those?
Or better yet, does anyone have a decklist, official or otherwise?

Use Cauldron Haze to give it persist so it wouldn't die from all the burn.
