Sorry should have been more clear on what I meant by "basically nothing." I was looking for prizes that had some sort of trade value, (tickets, packs, promo cards etc.) and not something that I just get but not able to trade. If I could trade "League Points" for tickets or packs then maybe I would be interested in Leagues but only if the monitory EV is plus for me. At this point I would rather just play in Daily Events.
Does anybody know what the prize payout is/will be for leagues. One of my friends told me it would be basically nothing because they were just going to give you "League Points" as prizes which just let you join more league play and packs would NOT be a prize.
We're playing blue, don't expect any love from Wotc, we have to live being the unloved child after all their previous mistakes making it overdominant in vintage and partially legacy. Unless it's for dumb creatures, then we get delver.
So yeah, the new command is just unplayable. For 5 mana I'd rather just time walk...Ok maybe not, I'd play it over time warp, but I wasn't even playing that any time soon.
How many relevant nonsituational noncreatures are you planning on hitting with this? Because it seems an expensive and, ironically, less versatile Far Away that can hit planeswalkers but doesn't kill bigger stuff...Bounce and kill. Yay, 1 for 1 + tempo for 5 mana...? That's the same as timewarp, which generates much more tempo the mayority of the time (even if it's just an explore). Even then, depending on a 5 mana for a removal...It's just too situational, too unversatile (how hard was for one mode to be recoil instead of useless bounce?) and too expensive for modern.
So yeah, the really good command goes to RG; the creature colors for a change. If BG was in the set I bet it would be those colors...sigh.
Sorry about my tone, I loathe dumbing down the game to "just jam the best you have on those colors in the deck, creatures, and bash depending on how much mana you have that turn".
Gee, even 4 cmc glimpse (mill 10) + recoil + negate + -3/-3 would of been real nice. Though I always advocate to having spells cost more colored symbols so making this cost UUBB for example.
Yeah, blue's been getting the shaft for a while in the spell department. Ironically blue creature lists like delver, heroic, and U-devotion have been putting up better numbers than more traditional control lists in standard, except for that one month where Esper control was the deck to beat.
Thinking about it, what has blue gotten from standard injected into modern recently (not counting the aptly-banned delve duo)? Delver and Snapcaster are the most recent things that come to mind.
Right now WOTC is more concerned with creatures being cast not so much instant and sorcery spells. This can be seen in control decks in Standard right now. One of the most anticipated control cards in Theros Block was, "what is the new four mana wrath going to look like," the format never got that card, so the same question was asked in the KTK/FRF "where is the four mana wrath effect". This is also seen in the recent banning of the card Birthing Pod WOTC stated, "Each year, new powerful options are printed... playing Pod suppresses decks, especially other creature decks", DCI banned list update direct quote. Essentially WOTC is saying they want to print cool powerful creature cards, but are too afraid a card like Birthing Pod will abuse these cards. I would expect to see more powerful creatures in the next couple of sets and less powerful instant and sorcery speed cards while the powerful instant and sorcery spells to be printed in supplement products, for example MM2015 and Duel Decks.
