Best art is best... also nice to see one spoiled that isn't white it's been awhile since day one.

I was hoping that the fetches would all have random planes walkers in them like arid Mesa with the person who looks like elspeth in the background. Well I'll keep hoping for the rest of the Zen fetches.

Here's an idea complete the horizon canopy cycle. Sure the ones that don't exist won't be legal in modern but it would be off the rails awesome if they did it. Then we can all speculate for years as to when these cards will actually see print only for it not to happen like all those future shifted cards not named graven cairns from future sight.

I would have been willing to actually buy an expedition Godless Shrine if this had been the art. Instead I can pay 50 cents for this Jank. Thanks wizards!

With 4 of the five origins walkers hinted at for this block + kiora and ob that puts us at 6 this block. Let's keep this going wizards let's see ugin, Nahiri, or sorin get back into the fray.

This does look like it goes into infinite tokens.

No it doesn't. Not even a little. It gives you an emblem then makes 3 tokens separate from the emblem effect. They benefit from the emblem, but are not part of it. Still very powerful in UG ramp decks.

It's a shame the door to standard is opening for her as it's being shut on Nykthos. I guess we'll have Kozilek's Channeler, though? Ehhh, seems to cute.

Keep in mind we are getting a man land cycle and the awaken mechanic. Untapping a land and a creature could very well be effectively untap 2 creatures.
    or two lands

I think the problem with white is that white lacks exclusivity and consistency in the things that it does. If you want to counter things you use blue, if you want ramp you use green, if you want to burn things you use red, if you want to attack an opponents hand you use black. These are just a few examples but you can look to these colours time after time set after set to do these things with only very occasional bleed into other colours. But what does white do? Board wipe is probably the most consistent part of whites identity, but it lacks exclusivity as black has two such cards in standard right now and arguably the best two. Things that white do almost exclusively are not commonly done for example blink. The last time we've seen blink was Avacyn restored. Bounce on the other hand is part of blues core identity and is used multiple times in every set. White needs do do the things that it does do more consistently

I wonder if the core set having all new walkers will lead to reprinted ones in other sets. If so I'm hoping for a Nissa worldwaker reprint. That card was great and perfect for the way this block is shaping up. And I'm not sure how it could be made better without being busted... although with awaken around it would probably be busted as is

I guess this all depends on what you feel cards should cost in a normal environment. Siege rhino is a very highly played card which has been a key piece in numerous archetypes during its time in standard which have won at every level. This card is a 4 dollar rare, which is great for players but should this be a $4 card based on what you've seen during your time playing magic? I would suggest no. This promotion could distort prices even more and this time it is based on hype rather than substances. In khans players were probably getting something for their money in the fetches. This time... probably not.

Any thoughts on who the woman is in the art for arid Mesa?

I'm dissapointed but not because I don't like the art because I actually do. But there is a picture without a card so far with statues of Gods inspired by the titans that don't exist, hence a Godless Shrine. I might have shelled out the cash for one of those based on the flavor win alone. However this blasted landscape although well drawn doesn't look like much.

Chandra can use ghost fire? Maybe I'm wrong but I though Ghostface could only be attained through mastery of all five colours of mana. Chandra doesn't even have mastery of red. Fire is literally all Chandra can do.

I'm confused as to why some people are upset by this promotion? Had they not done this we would have all got the usual common that would have been in this slot or if they are lucky a much less awesome foil. Having these cards printed no matter how rare just seems like upside to me. Also why do people think that this in any in any way effects the reprinting Zen fetches in the future? For all we know they're in Sweat. The Onslaught fetches were just reprinted a year ago and now this promotion puts more into circulation. The Shocks were in Return and Gatecrash and then just for fun they went into Dragon's maze too. Wizards can print what they, want when they want, so we might as well just enjoy the ride.

I love the spirit of the idea, but this approach to reprinting but not really reprinting highly in-demand cards seems to add more pressure to the market than it does to relieve it. You're not printing nearly enough in order to bring down prices, and what you are printing you're printing as an extremely scarce, exclusive alternate art, alternate border edition so as to make these even more expensive than the out of print cards no one can find or afford to buy in the first place- so what's the point?

I think Wizards should spend more time fixing the problems as they relate to the availability of certain cards before they begin reissuing them as (what are in effect) incredible promos that become even less likely to see a standard issue reprint in the coming years.
But why would they make money solving a problem when they could make money not solving a problem. And then make even more money solving that problem later if they feel like it?

Is this a first print run only thing like the last priceless treasures or will they run throughout the set. I just want to know if I can pace my insane pack buying.
