i think this blue version is not actually an aggro deck, it is more like a control/ midrange. And i feel the surgical should be used in the best possible way, which i think most of the time is deny opponent threats, but of course if theres value in taking out removals, hey why not. EG, thoughtseize >removal, surgical said removals thats also in opponents hand.

no the maindeck surgical is to fuel life loss for death's shadow.
and the thoughtseize, surgical combo is just good.

i think i am missing something anti graveyard i think, preferably anti dredge, am hoping the card is able to cover multiple kind of situations. And most importantly fits grix delv. Thank you Grin

If i am to use ravenous trap is there any plus there vs surgical? Or is it all minus with ravenous trap?

can i ask if anger of the gods as SB does well in this deck?
i don't have surgical and so am thinking of decent alternatives.
What are the repercussions of using anger of gods as SB instead of surgical?

more than 1/2 their deck is geared to achieve tron lands included. How about considering atking their threats? Their threats are around the count of 10 ish. thats roughly the count of 2 draws for a 4 turn game.

I remember blowing out a ad nauseam deck with fuse wear//tear so its not all bad, ad nauseam is a burn killer without wear//tear

I have no idea why everyone is questioning splashing AC.

    My thoughts are,
PT 1 - it might not be good to put in 4 wild nacatl due to a higher amounts of 1 drop removal

PT 2 - with the higher removal amounts, it will lessen the explosiveness of AC and because AC requires a totally different color as the basic list of Boros, it might not be good to splash 4 AC (not that good to splash 4 of AC), due to the possible dmg loss of fetching another color. If you want to argue if you are already going to splash AC might as well splash 4, well thts up to you and thats not an argument, splashing AC does not mean you have to splash 4.

Did anyone question the effectiveness of AC as a possible skullcrack?
Did anyone say AC is bad?
I think we should drop the AC debate, and start on dealing with the meta change at hand of added easy removals instead and the possible impact. Under the color pie thats 3 colors having gd 1 mana removal.

LOL, nice your decks a plan , i understand what you are doing there.

    11 x 2 drops for a 2/7 rate of 42 cards.
so it will be a T4 kill with a distribution for the btm situation.

    T1 - Ld + 1
    T2 - Ld + 1,1
    T3 - Ld + 1,2
    T4 - 1,2

the reason for no searing blaze is cause of too high an amount of dead draws, with Gonti + Eidolon + creatures, and also you are suppose to force them to defend i think.
Well its a plan, do tell us the outcome once tested ty.

4x skullcrack is definitely in SB i think <> exchging with L Helix or Eidolon
Smash t smithereens might be good, anti chalice
Glare of Heresy? very fringe but it answers Kor/Leyline but it does takes takes 3 dmg away from you.

Well i am not sure, but anything can happen at this point. But lets just talk about the board state scenario that you are saying.

    Burn
Eidolon in play, gonti's machination in play tapped out.
    Jund,junk 's turn
    Scenario 1
abrupt decay > eidolon = take 2 from eidolon, take 3 and burn gain 3 possibly from next turn. 5 dmg to jund, junk and +3 to burn
    Scenario 2
abrupt decay > Gonti's machination = take 2 from eidolon, then take 2 from eidolon atk, then take 2 from eidolon from casting creatures/abrupt decay/liliana to stone wall eidolon. total 6 dmg to jund, junk
Hmm well ill say kill eidolon is the correct way to go but well with 4 eidolon in deck, theres ard a 52% chance of not drawing 1 until T4.

I am not a hard advocate for Gonti's machination. Just that everything deserve a test before no.

Destroy effects also include Tron, Karn + O stones for EG.

no i am just keeping in mind the possibility of abrupt decay + added destroy shenanigans, so the damage lands are a form of fast activation,or response activation. to make full use of gonti's machination, they should be on board to generate maximum enerygy until u get in kill range.

It is untested, dont write it off so fsat.

i can see situations to trigger it are.

    Boardstate
1 blackcleave cliffs, (mana confluence or sulfurous spring)
cast gonti's machination, tap land, lay fetch , trigger 1 energy by fetching, pass turn.

    during opponents turn
    Scenario 1
creature atks, gonti's machination energy triggers, sac gonti's machination.

    Scenario 2
tap sulfurous spring for red mana bolt him, trigger gonti's machination in response to a destroy spell or at EOT.

I am sure gonti's machination list requires (city of brass, mana confluence, or pain lands)
