Not having a basic Mountain is a mistake, I feel. You want to fetch basics. Take out an Island for it.
4 Colonnades is too many; cut one and go down to 23. I also think that 4 Canals is too many. Go down to 3 Canals max and get a white one in there. 2 Sacred Foundry seems odd, especially with only 4 white fetches. You want Arid Mesas over Tarns if running an additional Foundry, otherwise keep 2 Vents.
Great input! I will consider all your input and adjust my mana base.
I do prefer 24 lands, i have not seen a consensus on 23 vs 24 in this thread. The extra foundry is to balance the off colors from colonades and canals, ie they all tap for blue but provide half the white/ red sources. my initial thoughts were to keep it two steam vents, but i changed it to attempt to balance colors. I will consider going back. The lack of a red basic is due to potential blood moons, I thought i should have enough red sources and want to be able to cast a singleton cryptic through it. Blood moon is less of a threat with nahiri now so it may be a moot point.
Hey guys, long time jeskai player, newly added nahiri.
I am wondering about rest in peace as a side board card vs some other cards. I understand it totally hoses some decks, but doing so it also hoses our snapcaster burn game plan and our nahiri emrakul gameplan. Is it still the optimal sideboard hate as opposed to relic of progenitus? if so please explain why.
What about a grafdiggers cage? it hits dredge, hits coco harder, but misses out on decks like living end. still hits out nahiri emrakul combo tho. trying to pick the best hate, I understand it is usually meta dependent but lets assume it is a blind meta. Thanks in advance.
What do you guys think about a RG tron deck built around Rites of Flourishing a pretty strong engine, no matter what the other player played we would draw/play better stuff.
Gideon Jura used to be an all star in this deck. Definately will buy you a turn or two. Whenevr I played him in the past, he would help stabalize/buy a turn/ take out a creature.
I just cant afford modern anymore. First my Pod deck now my twin deck. I get that pod was OP but twin wasn't that bad, the meta is super diverse right now EXCEPT the prevalence of LINEAR STRATEGIES, which IMO are super boring to play with and against. I'm a control player at heart and love to have complex lines of play. Alas control is dead in modern. WIZARDS, CAN YOU TRY TO BALANCE AND SPICE UP THE META GAME BY UNBANNING CARDS FOR ONCE? Stop giving players a consistent middle finger please, and do some serious testing on the banned card list.
Esper has always been colors I love messing around with. I came up with this idea earlier today when daydreaming about pride of the clouds.
A deck idea that revolves around something like:
4 [Judges Familiar]
4 [Serum Visions]
4 [Pride of the Clouds]
3 [Bitterblossom]
4 [Lingering Souls]
4 [Favorable Winds]
2 [Kira, The Great Glass Spinner]
2 [Sorin, Solemn Visitor]
1 [Sphinx's Revelation]
Add a disruption package to finish it off, either counterspells, hand disruption or just straight removal.
Has anyone tried a deck like this? Do you think it is viable in modern? Anyone have any input?
modern is pretty boring right now. guess ill quit playing for a while hopefully wizards will let things naturally evolve instead of letting fear rule their decisions.
Great to hear from you, could you offer some input based on the standard spell package?

3 Scalding Tarn
4 Spirebluff Canal
4 Celestial Colonnade
3 Island
1 Steam Vents
1 Ghost Quarter
1 Hallowed Fountain
1 Plains
2 Sacred Foundry
This is about the same as a stock jund list. any advice?
