s a Temur version of this deck feasible you think? Stormchaser Mage is such a great flyer to pump in the air and slip through space is a very nice answer to get around blockers plus cantrip.
I was thinking the same thing but wondered about the optimal mana base.
I went 3-1 last night at my LGS. I usually play Atarka Red but decided to play R/U Prowess. My match loss was to Mono Black Eldrazi, not a great matchup with a great pilot playing the deck. That is going to be a deck to watch out for.
Anyone trying Reckless Bushwacker in their Landfall decks? I tried it out in Atarka Red and it won quite a few games. Thinking about shoehorning it into Landfall.
Atarka Red is still technically Red with only a splash of Green. Wouldn't 10-12 sources of green to many? That's like half of the total land count.
The cost may be prohibitive but the concept is access as quick as possible. You want to win by turn 5 and have as many options as possible depending the hand you drew and the lines of play available.
I played the Atarka list with the Black SB, but made some of adjustments recommended by Nevelo. Took 5th at my LGS Tuesday night Standard. Bushwacker is explosive in that build. Mono-Green Eldrazi opponent was totally caught off-guard by the black splash and in the game 3 decider he deployed a Rattleclaw as a blocker to keep one of my tokens from coming through. He got the business end off Self Inflicted Wound and a Surged Bushwacker for lethal damage.
Basically just plow through and any speed bumps. Cool.
That's the plan! Den Protector is another good way to plow through as her combat clause is insane. There are so many lines of play with this deck. Prowess interactions with Titan's Strength, Temur Battle Rage, Landfall with Snapping Gnarlid, Scythe Leopard and Atarka's Command. The worst mistake an opponent can make is not blocking in the early game because this deck can come out of nowhere and kill.
How you guys deal with opponent creatures? I am use to playing decks whose majority of spells are removal.
I played this deck at one event and not really sure that I liked not having any removal.
The sideboard helps, but the deck isn't really interested in interacting with opponent, just getting them dead. I had a beautiful turn 3 kill the other night. (On the draw) nut draw of Swiftspear, Snapping Gnarlid, Temur Battle Rage, Become Immense, and three fetch lands. Turn 1 Swiftspear, 1 point. Turn two opponent Wild Slashes her and I drop Gnarlid, turn three opponents stalls. 3rd fetch busted, Battle Rage cast, Delve 5 cast Become Immense, boom!
Stick a Hangarback Walker, end of opponents turn pump, rinse, repeat. If they play a sweeper, release Thopters. Block bigger creature, release Thopters etc.
If you need combat damage to get across without the opponent using a Fog effect and you have a creature that meets the Ferocious clause then Wild Slash is your spell. Do it right and no need to worry about Winds of Qal Sisma or Dromoka's Command.
I sideboarded in Chandra, extra Fiery Impulse, Rending Volley, and Act of Treason last night against an Archangel of the Tithes build in games 2. She survived the opponents turn and I flipped her on my turn. Ping opponent with Chandra, cast Fiery Impulse on Seeker of the Way and untap Chandra, ping opponent again, cast rending volley on Archangel, untap Chandra and ping opponent again, flip Chandra. Cast Act of Treason snagging Archangel, swing across clear board. -2 flipped Chandra and finished off Archangel. Sweet!
I placed 9th on Game Day with the list I took first with Tuesday night. I missed Top 8 by 7 percentage points (tie breakers). I ran into some issues with Silkwrap and Quarantine Field that cost me 2 matches. If Bant Tokens becomes a thing then we will need to deal with enchantments and I am wishing we still had Destructive Revelry.
Round 1: 2/0 vs. Mardu Dragons splashing G for Dragonlord Atarka
Round 2: 2/0 vs. B/W Drana with Gideon
Round 3: 2/0 vs. Mono Red (newbie pilot)
Round 4: 2/0 vs. Jeskai highlights were game 1 5th turn combo kill and game 2 4th turn combo kill
Round 5: ID split packs
This deck played way better than the Brian Demars Atarka Red version I played at State Champs.

Alchemist's Vial Is decent and card draw is a plus.
