Sitting on it for awhile and reading other comments Akki_Akki figured a way she could be good. On plus side you can always run her as 1:99 in a Jund / BRG deck alongside Ruric Thar, the Unbowed and Ob Nixilis, Unshackled. Along with other cards like Price of Glory, Tectonic Instability, Possibility Storm, Primal Order, War's Toll, Stranglehold, Burning Earth, Manabarbs, Dosan the Falling Leaf, Kaervek the Merciless, Blood Moon, Magus of the Moon, etc.

    Dragonlord Kolaghan

    ...

Elder Dragon with an ability as relevant as Doubling Chant in the format named after Elder Dragons. dot dot dot

Akki_Akki cannot defend this red card. So much fail with that second ability.

    Dragonlord Kolaghan 4BR
Legendary Creature - Elder Dragon (MR)
    Flying, Haste
Other creatures you control have haste.
Whenever an opponent casts a creature or planeswalker spell with the same name as a card in their graveyard, that player loses 10 life.
    6/5

    Facepalm

Aside from the second ability that is worth many Facepalm , is there any perks to running this in an EDH deck. Helm or 1:99?

    Discuss.

Akki_Akki really hope it reads "Your graveyard" instead of "Their graveyard". As a EDH player, if its the second... Facepalm

6/5 flying hastey for 6 is decent. Giving your creatures haste is also decent but less relevant when said creature giving haste sits so high on the curve (I really liked Urabrask though). Last ability seems pretty situational and would only possibly matter in mirror matches. Honestly, I just want to see the art.

I look forward to an opponent's Dragonlord Silumgar and related Mind Control effect being rebuttaled by your own Dragonlord Silumgar to grab their Dragonlord Silumgar, causing their Dragonlord Silumgar to die to the Legend rule and return your Mind Control'd permanent. Should be an interesting (new) Elder Dragon brawl.

    Akki_Akki can see it now.

Considering Biorhythm is banned, Akki_Akki questions how long Shaman of the Forgotten Ways will remain legal. All it really requires is your side of the board have 8 power worth of creatures and a means to produce 9GG. It more fragile as creature, no doubt there, but it can still swing the game in one player's favor if their opponent is not playing as many creatures.

Ojutai's Command: Not bad, not good, just okay.

Pristine Skywise: *Whistles* Now that is a really cool W/U mana dragon as it has Pseudo-Vigilance and built in protection. 4WU for a 6/4 with flying and "Whenever you cast a noncreature spell, untap Pristine Skywise. It gains protection from the color of your choice until end of turn."

Necromaster Dragon: 3BU for a 4/4 with flying is alright, not great however its got a fairly nice effect. "Whenever Necromaster Dragon deals combat damage to a player, you may pay 2. If you do, put a 2/2 black Zombie creature token onto the battlefield and each opponent puts the top two cards cards of his or her library into their graveyard."

Harbinger of the Hunt: 3RG for a 5/3 with flying, could be worse. However its abilities actually seem actually really awesome. Akki underlined a part of the text that makes it really awesome to have.
"2R: Harbinger of the Hunt deals 1 damage to each creature without flying.
2G: Harbinger of the Hunt deals 1 damage to each other creature with flying."

Best case scenario is you run Heartstone and/or Rings of Brighthearth. In Temur, lol, you can run Training Grounds and it becomes an absolute beast of a dragon with its activated abilities.

Boltwing Marauder: 3RB for a 5/4 flier with "Whenever another creature enters the battlefield under your control, target creatures gets +2/+0 until end of turn."

Kind of reminds Akki_Akki of Ogre Battledriver, minus haste of course.

Arashin Sovereign: Akki_Akki slightly confused. 5GW for a 6/6 flier with "When Arashin Sovereign dies, you may put it on the top or bottom of its owner's library."

Akki_Akki slightly confused as it is the controller who gets to decide if its put on the top or bottom of library or the person who killed it?

Sidisi can sacrifice herself with her own Exploit trigger. So that is not an issue. Akki_Akki suppose if you plan on winning on winning with the demon through combat damage the extra 2 points of damage could help. Although a 4/6 with deathtouch is still quiet even if you only ever tutored with her once in the entire game.

If your a smart player in U/B mana , you will be running mana rocks like Sol Ring, Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth, Dimir Signet, etc. In addition to whatever ramp you can get your hands on. Liliana of the Dark Realms is valuable for this reason because her +1 does something black is actually quiet poor at, ramping.

Silumgar does have an impact on the board. The key part is timing. Will you steal a Llanowar Elves when its only one on the battlefield or your opponent's Ezuri, Renegade Leader? Being able to hold an enemy general for ransom is hilarious in itself. Yet there are key planeswalkers and creatures you might want to steal and purposefully make lose loyalty/sacrifice or make that walker's ultimate go off under your control instead of their owner's.

Fair enough, people tend to wisen up to combos once they have seen and get ready to face it again in the second game.

Akki_Akki thankful Silumgar is not top tier, would be royal pain rear to get. As if it is top tier, it would more likely have a place in other formats outside EDH. Will it see play as a Commander? Probably. Akki_Akki even tried to make Dong Zhou, the Tyrant work in EDH.

    Very good white dragon.
Five mana for a 4/3 with flying and a cool ability that makes it bigger and your life total bigger as well.

Akki_Akki just figured it out. Facepalm
The reason the black reagent and the red reagent are so different is because its a vertical CMC cycle. So either the green one or the blue one will be six mana. Then the last one will be anywhere between three and eight mana.

Path to Exile, Mine again, Swords to plowshares, mine again, go for the throat, mine again, Duplicant, mine again, Clone or control magic, hey Silumgar is mine too. Being open to removal really hurts this guys playability, especially considering he had hexproof in previous incarnation. When your general already has protection from most removal, well that just leaves deck space open for more fun things. And if your going to be dropping 6 plus mana to bring him out, I'd like as much insurance as possible that he is gonna stay in play.

But you're right, in a fun format like EDH, its as much a part of what you like as what is good. And combos can be fun though they don't have much of a shelf life.

I'm just nitpicking because preorders have him selling for $10 apiece and he's not a even close to a $10 card. Maybe in 10 years, but certainly not now.

He will drop in price if he has no home in standard. Not likely he will have a home in modern. Legacy is a bit iffy but Akki_Akki would say probably not. Vintage? Only if you could cheat him in fast enough he might see play; more likely he won't.

6 mana is pocket change in EDH. Black decks regularly try to find room for Rune-Scarred Demon who might get replaced by Sidisi, Undead Vizier because she is cheaper to cast. Hazezon Tamar may look weak but he is actually one of the better Naya generals you will ever come across. Yep what you rattled off are regular removal spells seen in EDH. Which tend to affect most generals that are not Hexproof/Shroud and in some corner cases, Indestructible. We would all love each of our generals to have insurance against removal of all forms although that is quiet unlikely.

Combos? They have a long shelf life in EDH. Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Zealous Conscripts = infinite Z.C. Tokens with haste.

Sure you got your casual EDH decks and you got your cutthroat EDH decks which create a bit of divide in the community but for Akki_Akki, its a means to play cards from past standard formats like Zendikar or Onslaught or Ravnica: City of Guilds in which normally might not even see play in other formats
once their time in Standard is over. Wich is good enough for Akki_Akki.

The combos nice Akki, I'll give you that but why not use the first one and not need to worry about strapping gear on your dragon to keep him alive and focus more on winning through general damage? 3 power isn't what I'd think to be optimal for a voltron but hey he's evasive and a lot of removal misses him. I suppose the new one is flavorful enough to warrant play, wearing Tasigur is pretty damn cool.

Well voltron is just one option Akki_Akki thinks.
Just because a commander has equipment doesn't really make it voltron.
Most decks tend to run enchantments and equipment to protect their general from Targeted removal, mass removal, tuck effects, bounce.
Voltron is a specific archetype that focuses on winning by equipping and enchanting the best possible cards for survivability and damage onto their general.

Besides flying and deathtouch, the strongest perk Silumgar has here is that he can steal. That Blightsteel Colossus? His. That Karn Liberated? His. Your opponent's general? He can steal that as well.

Not all generals win through combat damage. Azami, Lady of Scrolls is a very competitive deck yet she does not win through combat damage. For instance, Her + Mind Over Matter = GG.
