Hey guys, I'm sorry for the huge absence, but I've moved out of my house with my girlfriend, and between job and house hunting and other such stuff, I haven't been online in a while. Plus the place that I'm at has dial-up, so I'm a little bummed for it.

Otherwise, I've been doing ok. Can't guarantee the next time I'll be on, but I hope you all have a good time nonetheless.

Sorry to do this guys *sigh* but I'm going to have to end this campaign prematurely. I moved out of my house about two weeks ago and have been looking for work and a place of my own. I haven't got the internet availability I want to run this game, and you guys shouldn't have to suffer because of my rash decision making. Sorry again, I hope you guys have fun in some of the other games, but I cannot continue to be DM. I will message one of the mods to close this thread after this.

    1 - Wuffles

    2 - Keldulas

    3 - Mirra

    4 - Shadowhunter

    5 - Krashbot

Kheldar's spell goes off, but doesn't seem to have an effect on the halfling. Naros catches the halfling before she can run and successfully grapples. Mirra tries to wriggle free from Naros' grasp.

Make a second grapple check, Keldulas.

Aurter steps near the hole in the floor and takes a look down.

    "Is everyone down there alright?"

Aurter has a concerned look on his face that expresses the worry of the group being separated.

Sorry about the unexpected absence, It was as unexpected to me as to you guys!

The sleeping halfling wakes from her sleep and seems a little confused at first by so many surrounding her bed. Suddenly, she shrieks and tries to sprint out of the room as fast as she can.

    Ok, guys. Initiative.
I thought that I needed some action after the long roleplaying and absence.

    Hey guys!

@Gray: That sounds pretty cool. As a fellow gamemaker, I would be willing to help you out.

Just posting some stuff and got on to update my campaign. Got some stuff to do and I'll be on later.

The group looks unsettled by the display of force, and quietly resume their previous business. The human whom you spoke to first straightens up nervously.

"O-ok, she's over there," He points to a bed five rows down in the quarters. There is someone currently sleeping in the bed. "Jeez, you don't have to be so uptight about it. What's this about anyway?"

He seems to suddenly realize that the situation is much more serious than a simple accident, and his face reflects the sudden worry he now feels.

"My, my, my. Master Perith himself gave these orders?" He turns to the others, "Looks like we got another one, boys!" He and the others burst into laughter and shake their heads. One of the others speaks up.

"Hey, what'd this one do, set the supplies on fire like the last new guy?"

The group's laughter roars again, many of them rolling back and forth on the floor. After several minutes of laughter, the group composes themselves enough to hear your response.

The particular area that the first Miria pointed out is an open bay area, with many beds in the same area. There should be someone there that can show you where this letter was delivered to.

For the sake of some speed and my absence, I'll assume that you all are going there.

You head across the Grand Hall toward the House Residental Quarters. There are a few halflings and even some humans and elves in this area, and one of the humans stops you at the door.

"How may I help you? Is there someone you are looking for, or are you one of the new lay members?"
    Another member chimes in.
"We've gotten a lot of new lay members lately, like that 'Mirra' girl."
"Yes, there's so many new people I can barely keep heads or tales of it."

The human curiously awaits a response from everyone.

The "Good Guard Bad Guard" scenario works wonders. She is certainly frightened of Naira, and feels comforted by Kheldar. Overall, you feel that she reveals everything she knows. You are certain that she isn't involved in this cult, and isn't sure she knows about it. She does inadvertantly give you a clue as to how you might find evidence of the actuall cultist.

She mentions that a few weeks ago, there was a letter delivered to one of the House members. The odd thing about this letter and the person delivering it is the fact that they did not specify a person to give it to, but instead a bed upon which to place it. She didn't personally handle the letter, but she tells you who did. Mirra d'Jorasco. She points you to the House members quarters to find Mirra.

The halfling's attitude visibly changes, to reflect that she seems to be accepting what's happening and will be more willing to answer questions.

"What did you want to know?"

Where is everyone? I don't think I've seen StormBlind here in a while.

    The halfling nods.

"Ok...ok, I'm sure this is just some misunderstanding, so I'll come along. I have nothing to hide. And I thank you for the courtesy that you've expressed in this matter."

With this she follows the party, eager to answer any questions.

As you read off the names of the list, you realize that many of the names are unfortunately quite similar. The name that was given to you of the member was Miria d'Jorasco. However, on the list, there are names such as Mira Jorasco, Miria Porith d'Jorasco, Mirra d'Jorasco, and Miria Minas d'Jorasco.

The teller, a female halfling, list off the directions to all of the places where the suspects should be until you get to the bottom of the list, the name Miria Minas d'Jorasco, then she suddenly pauses.

"...that's...that's my name. Why am I on this list? What is this about?

    The halfling nods.

"Do as you must, and should any question your authority, tell them that you do what you do on authority of Perith d'Jorasco! Now if you will excuse me, I have much to do, including finding a replacement for this cultist among all things."

Having said all that he is willing to say, the halfling escorts everyone to the main hall and heads back to his former station, assisting those who are still in need. Nearby where he escorts you to is a legend of the complex that shows where this sign is and where the various parts of the complex are in relation.

You are currently in: Grand Hall

North: Chief offices, Supply storage, imminent House business
Northeast: Emergency and Guest quarters, Chief and Cabinet quarters
East: House quarters, Kitchen, Alchemy Labs, Launders
Southeast: Mission Headquarters, Quartermaster's Office and Supply, House Matron/Patron Office and quarters
South: Emergency case healing and raising area
Grand Hall: Healing services and general House business

  • posted a message on [Magic CoffeeHouse]: We've got your Coffeebreasts right here.
    Hey, coffeehouse!

On the topic of sirnames and social titles etc.: Originally, I was pre-programmed by my parents to call strangers 'Sir' and 'Ma'am', and this was a little reinforced by the military, but now that I'm in the hayday of my early life and military career, I've begun to shun such titles entirely and have swore that I'd never call anyone by any sort of title once I was done with the military. Mostly now when I talk to new people and the time where words like Sir and Ma'am would come up, I simply ignore it's relevance. For example, when you would normally say something like "Good morning, Sir" to some stranger, I simply say "Good morning". I tend to talk to everyone as though I've known them for years.

@ card tourneys: I haven't been in a card tourney for a long time. There's hardly enough players where I live that are willing to play on a consistent basis. Even my friends that play the game rarely play anymore. I even bought the last of the collection of one of my friends a little while ago who was selling them because he never gets to use them (in the process I also received his particularly nasty elf deck that he called Elves+, which uses the elves to play stuff like Angels, Demons, and Flame Fusillage).

ah well. Hope everyone else is enjoying their day!
