Bah! Spotty internet-connection ate my post...

"Ah, you know me all too well, Weaver!

Indeed, a revolution without raving lunatics would hardly be a revolution at all... and you'd be correct in thinking that I might finally have found a liking for puns... I know, it sickens me, too.

I too, am in need of retirement for the night (this was more long-winded and ☺☺☺☺, but I lost interest in typing this a second time)."

It was more than you have been away for awhile, and this clan really needed your douchewaffleness to return to what it was.

    "Douchewafflism", please. Wink

But yes, I get it: We need a revolutionary character for this revolution-requiring time! Hail Caesar!

    Uhh

...Yes, for all those that didn't already know: I could make the argument that I am legally insane...

    EDZ: Lotta ninja's around here...

Indeed. If only we could see them, and guilt them into posting... Sneaky

    ...:rollout:

Edit: I almost forgot; Weaver... what was it you needed me for, so urgently? Something I've already missed, no doubt? ugh

I do not accept cookies from strangers, and I certainly don't accept cookies from the kinds of people that I like. No offense intended, of course. Wink

Edit: And "Santore", my new friend: If you stick around the Izzet long enough, you'll find it already is in common use. Evil Lol

...and AI... your snarky jibes at me will yield you no such effect as they once did. I'm sorry, but I think I might have attained a state of enlightenment. Sneaky

By "brand new management", do you possibly mean that everyone's favourite douchewaffle has been dragged back from the edge of insanity, at the beck and call of another old favourite, Weaver? Is that so?

Well, whether or not any of that is true; and whether or not anyone here couldn't've figured it out before reading those words (perhaps they looked at my avatar and name, afterall :monocle:): Ravus has returned!

I'm sorry to post just for this in your clan: But if any of you guys has contact to your high mage of arcane babbling, it'd be kind to poke him about his mafia games.

I'm here! Having a regular job makes this ☺☺☺☺ harder, for me. I'm finally getting household internet set up this week, though. I've said that before, but this time it's more reliably possible. Sweat

You can wish for it, but you're wrong to think it'd be particularly cunning. :p

☺☺☺☺ty play mistakes, and nugget luck sack players are the bane of FNM's

    It just wasn't your night(or you're a terrible drafter... :p)

Although the latter is entirely plausible (though I'd argue I'm not nearly as bad at it as I once was :ugh:), I chalk it up to Friday the thirteenth. I mean, it's appropriate that luck would try to trick me into thinking I'd be doing well in a draft by giving me an incredibly playable deck, only to slap me in the face with horrible play and bull☺☺☺☺ of that nature.

But I can no longer complain about last week's abysmal draft, as on Sunday the girl I was doing this charity thing for called me up and asked me out, and today I find myself being offered an incredible(-y unlikely) job. This week's going pretty well, and to be honest if it wasn't for rereading this thread, I would've forgotten last week was so terrible for me. rollout

Anybody play an FNM last night? I drafted twice, and did meh, I pretty much decided to rare draft, I wasn't really in it.

I drafted an insane red-black deck (I was going red-white until I opened a Grave Titan and got passed all the appropriate support...!), and lost round one to horrible luck, and lost the last round to a play-mistake and my opponent having too much for me to deal with (which would've been dealt with without said mistake :ugh:). I call Friday the thirteenth shenanigans. There wasn't a single card in my deck that wasn't amazing, and I scrubbed out anyway.

Oh well, the box we drafted must've been incredible, as there were two titans, two planeswalkers, three duals, playable foils worth something, and so on. Even last place got something worthwhile out of it.

I much prefer redrafting at the end because it makes the competitiveness and strength of players decks much better which imo makes for better games.

Yes. I'm all for rare-drafting at prereleases and ☺☺☺☺, where you might need new product, but even then I'll concentrate more on building a playable deck, such that I could (possibly... I'm not great at drafting :ugh:) win packs. Shrugs

Just curious: does your area redraft the rares afterward?

Everywhere I've drafted before does. Gives incentive to do well, and doesn't reward someone for merely getting lucky and cracking the $50 bill.

Or did your opponents not have a clue on how to anti-draft or what?

There's the point I was thinking: Even if you're not playing its colour, you don't pass such a thing. You could splash it at the very least, and you are a fool if you would allow an opponent to have such a card.
    Quote from Zajnet »
Or are your opponents Rich SOBs who don't care about money at all?

In my experience, the "Rich SOBs" are the ones who most care about picking the money-cards. One exception is a doctor I know who owns several sets of Power Nine, but I wouldn't call him an "SOB", as you put it.

Test Subjects get promoted in a batch with others, so you'll just have to wait until there's a promotion.

Not necessarily true. Promotions happen when there is availability. Teach

Only eight people showed up to FNM this week, and I 3-0'd with Jund. However, I also lost two $5 bets and split half my prize with the person who lent me the deck, so in the end I actually lost money. Slant

My FNMs are always still draft. This last week we somehow got two pods, which doesn't really ever happen. My experience was rather strange, though... I ended up beating all the better players than myself, but lost to the worse... Someone must've cast a Topsy Turvy when I wasn't looking... Uhh

Furthermore, I lied. I am no longer capable of making the trek to Nationals this year. Frown Instead I'd rather blow peoples' minds by involving myself in some charity thing. ...I was roped into it, it wasn't entirely my choice, before anybody starts thinking I'm any sort of good person...

I've never had anything stolen from me, though it's happened to friends around me rather often. One time one friend of mine got stoned out of his mind prior to an event, was guarding another friend's ☺☺☺☺, and sold some of it to pay for his entry. It was a douchebag move, and he payed for his crimes, but it was worth it to me just to listen to his story of how it happened... but I won't get into that just now.

Since nationals is only two/three hours out of my way this year (I guess it was when it was in Chicago, as well, but eh), I'm going up for some side events (EDH side-events?) and the general Magic-nerd-convention-ishness of it all. I don't trust anybody, so this'll be a fun experience for me guarding my ☺☺☺☺. But is anyone else planning on going?

Edit: Apparently our bustling clan thread dies out when Ravus starts posting more actively. :monty:

I started playing around Torment, but didn't really realize there was a competitive/expansive Magic scene until around Onslaught/Legions. ☺☺☺☺ing around in Odyssey block was a lot of fun for me, and it obviously inflicted me with a love for the use of graveyards as a resource. I vaguely recall that my cousin and I had bought a few precons at some game store, and a neighbor I was friendly with had a starter set and ☺☺☺☺. That neighbor discovered mono-blue control much too quickly for my liking, though... Slant

Thanks for the belated birthday wish AI and Pheon!

Hmm. Missing to wish you a happy birthday doesn't really agree with me being about to say "I've still been reading the thread, just lurking for lack of blah"... Uhh

It's true though. Sneaky Happy birthday that may have happened already, SC! Cookie
