You can't be serious. You absolutely can't be serious. I've honestly never heard of garage sale permits. Also, restricting the amount of yard sales you can have is just silly unless it's a very high class/income area where you aren't likely to have a garage sale at all.
And to those claiming Magic is becoming YuGiOh... Keep in mind that the physical game of Magic is far more advanced, dynamic and interesting than Yu-Gi-Oh can ever be. The reason Yu-Gi-Oh never overtook magic (same as pokemon) is simply because it doesn't have nearly as much design space, nor does it have the structure of play. It's the GAME ITSELF that has repulsed players from it, not the rarity of the cards.
You don't see world champs who don't really care about how much their deck costs like John Finkel playing Yu-Gi-Oh. Let's be real here... There's a massive difference between games.
There are a lot of "It's not turning to YGO" posts but I'll quote this one since it seems the most thought out.
As a Yugioh player, I worry about what is in store for Magic now that there is a "Mythic Rare". It could be a one time thing, a decent or good change or it could lead to Standard costing $1500 to play. Konami of Japan/Upperdeck decided to start producing "Secret Rares" again that are approximately 1:40 packs with 10 or so in each set. The reason it's an issue is because one or two per set recently are not only deck and strategy defining but incredibly broken. Now if Magic goes a similar route where good/broken cards become "Mythic Rares" it could lead to not only them increasing the rarity but also increased in playability to boost sales. If the "Mythic Rares" stay at one in seven packs or become easier to find along with just being gimmicky storyline cards, the damage should be minimal if not non-existent.
I'll reserve my judgment on this until I can see what it does to competitive play and the secondary market but after playing several card games with more than the basic three rarities I can't help but worry.
On a side note, I recently started trying to trade off my Yugioh for Magic because of the lack of anything higher than a rare.
According to the Japanese text on the box "Super Pii Pii Brothers promotes good bathroom skills and allows women to experience for the first time the pleasure of urinating while standing." What we say is that virtual peeing is damn fun!
This could be the first step towards redefining "cyber sex".
