IMO, I say let us teens be teens. We will continue to grind on the opposite sex due to hormones and the fact that we like to rebell. I say that it's okay to have it as long as it doesn't go much farther. It's not like an intercourse or anything.
hear hear1 you have summed it up wonderfully my dear!
I believe the fact that George W. Bush has not signed the assault rifle ban is lunacy. I do not believe any automatic weapon should be available to a noncivilian without specific license from the United States government.
Having said that, I am very much in favor of the right to bear arms. If the article is correct, there have been five cases of this "Make My Day" law in the past 21 years, so this law does not open the door to wonton violence. Because of this, I don't see any valid argument against this law. Any person who illegally acts in a manner that endangers a person's life and/or property should be met with all due consequences.
For the first part, poo on you. your not a gun collector... you probably have never even shot an automatic weapon... just because some jackass decides to shoot up a school, it doesnt mean that the rest of us should not be allowed to use them..
ironically, i agree with you on hte second part. There is no justifiable argument against this law.
@Elrond—
Sorry... I've been really busy with personal issues lately. Some of my friends are going through really hard times and I haven't been able to get much done in the way of photoshopery. I will try my hardest to get your request done sometime either tonight or tomorrow...Promise. I don't mean to blow you off...stuff happened. (Most people don't say "stuff" in that phrase...they use another word for "poopy." ;))
My most sincere appologies for making you wait so long.
oh jez man, i didnt know.. IM the one who should be srry.. Best of luck to you! (i know exactly what kind of "Stuff" you mean)
The "documents" that extremestan is talking about have already been translated and published. They're well known in scholarly circles as "the Bible."
The New Testament contains some of the history of the early Church, and each of the mentioned points can be found in Acts or various epistles.
Yes. The New Testament starts with the Gospels, or different views of the life of Christ, and then the start of the early Church, followed by revelations.
I honestly have no idea what you're getting at here.
WHat im getting at, is that these the Clergy really thinks things over before they go through and let things be known. Sorry if i was vague.
Catholics believe that the Pope is "infallible" in the sense that he has understanding of and insight into God's will and God's word, and thus that he is a reliable spiritual leader and guide in determing Catholic doctrines. It doesn't mean that Catholics believe the Pope is perfect, or further, that individual Catholics are incapable of mistakes. In this context, "infallibe" has a very specific meaning.
Exactly. We believe the Pople to be "infallible" in his representation of Christ. He is our Holy "Vicor", meaning he is Christ's "diplomat", or representative. There have been corupt Popes, but we still believe that there representation of Christ was an infallible one.
Nothing would happen. The validity of the statement would simultaneously repeal the Church's authority to make it, and you'd be back to square one. It's also worth noting that the Church is not infallible in temporal or "new" teachings (such as that God doesn't exist). To put it somewhat plainly, she is infallible in clarification rather than invention.
It's an interesting question. Not, perhaps, a useful one, but interesting.
Exactly; like England is just another American state, after the fashion of North Dakota or Oregon.
In other words, the Catholics who actually care about the religion they follow, yes? Your broad statements are poor.
Wrong; it proves the Church is illegitimate, one way or another.
You'd be surprised, I think, just how smart some of these people are and have been.
suprised indeed. The book of Judas was only just released, after over 1000 years after it ws written. That is just one example to show that these people think things over VERY carefully. Also, stupid people are not capable of creating one of the largest and fastest growing religions in the world...
Hypotheticaly they could, but they wouldn't. If they did, they'd be a false prophet.
Figured I'd say that, as much as I like to pick on Catholics, we're still fighting for simaler causes. (Well.. one simaler cause.. they can go screw themselves on everything else lol!)
Wow.... this is probably the most offensive thing ive heard on these forums.....
I doubt that most people would care if the Catholic church proclaimed that God didn't exist. I don't rally agree with "The Catholic Church." The Catechysm of the Catholics says that all non-catholic christians are going to hell. it says that if you aren't baptised you are going to hell. It turns Mother Mary into an idol. It claims that she was perfect and an ever-virgin, even though the bible clearly states that Jesus had brothers. As far as I'm concerned, the Catholic church is full of false doctrines that totally go against the bible (That isn't to say that all catholics are evil; most catholics I've met don't even know what their ties to Catholicism entail.) So yeah, basically, The Catholic Church could say that Jesus was actually a cross-dresser from Indeanapolis and I couldn't care less.
Wow, again. this is a horrible interpretation of the Holy Bibile, and the Catechysm.
First, the Catechysm DOES NOT, i repeat, DOES NOT say that anyone that is Non-Christian, or non-baptised, goes to Hell. In fact, it even goes so far as to say that people that have never had the chance to truely see God, or turley know him, are innocent. It also goes to say that EVERYONE has the chance, after they die to ask for forgiveness, or to go to Hell. the only thing is that you are still a non-divine human when you ar asked, and still subject to origional sin, and your previous worldy thoughts.
Second, how is Mary not an idol!? She is the mother of Jesus! She is the only human to NOT have origional sin! She is also the first human to NOT sin..... again, how is she not an idol? Yes, she was perfect. She was born without sin, and commited no sins. And yes, she was "ever-virgin". jesus was concieved in her womb BY the Holy Spirit. Haha! You obviously are NOT a Catholic my friend. When there is a reference to Jesus' brothers, it is to the 12 Apostles. he also calls commen men and women his "Brothers and Sisters".
And to say that you couldnt care less..... the only thing i can do, is to pray for you my firend.
Might i suggest learning up a bit on the subject before you try to lecture on it?
So. The Roman Catholic Church says it is infallible, which means that the Church is immune from fallacy or liability to error in expounding matters of faith or morals by virtue of the promise made by Christ to the Church.
So if the Church said that god didnt exist, would he just cease to exist, or would the Church? what woudl happen??
I believe that there is a truth, but is is beyond the power or control of mere mortals such as us. There is an absolute truth, but no human shall find it, unless God deems it so.
hear hear1 you have summed it up wonderfully my dear!
