I lurk in the bad trader resolution forum from time to time and I cant help noticing the "Brett G" incident.
He was banned for ripping people in the past, if I'm reading things correctly, and came back and ripped four more people this time.
This just cant happen. Is there any sort of screening or making them fill out some sort of application that could be used for new members to market street?
I have a feeling you're going to be let down quite a bit by what this card is "worth."
It has a couple strikes against it.
It's not an old/original card. This may not seem like that much of a problem, but because of this, the next factor hurts it even more.
It's not a very limited print run. Nowadays chase cards are run in extremely limited quantities. A card out of 10,000 print run isnt very rare at all. I havent bought any baseball cards for years, but just thumbing through a box, I found a card serial numbered 17/52.
It's a newer card, and isnt extremely limited, isnt a rookie card, and doesnt have a signature/memorabilia factor. The coin might be its only saving grace, and that's only if it's in perfect shape.
I cant imagine a card like this being worth more than 20-50 dollar range (and maybe less than that, honestly) unless there is some outside factor I'm missing.
EX-; there's considerable damage to the card as well as clouding, which happens but... I have a bunch of considerably old foils and none of them are clouding because I keep them in good condition.
A penny sleeve was apparently out of the question. (this card looks like it was actually played with, without any kind of sleeve) I have foils commons/uncommons from as far back as invasion/7th edition era, and they look perfectly fine.
I would be more than disappointed if I was promised a NM foil and received this. I dont care if it isnt that expensive of a card... that's an atrocious looking foil.
thanks for the tip. a number of other users have mentioned that building up an iTrader rating with small trades at first is a safe way to ease into the whole online mail trading community. I had no idea, i just thought, positive iTrader rating = safe. Now I know better and I will give it a try.
Heh. In my 137 total trades on this site, I'm sure plenty of them were for uncommon cards and rares worth a buck or two.
It's so difficult to truly decide when someone is going to "go bad." Look through my iTrader refs. 7 guys I traded with were banned for ripping. Not a single time did I have a problem with any of them, and hell, I traded multiple times with most of them.
Back in the early days of my trading, when the rules here didnt seem as strict (maybe there just wasnt as many crooked people), we mostly sent in envelopes and top loaders... nowadays, I wouldnt recommend ever sending without a padded mailer and delivery confirmation.
I do believe that if someone recieves a plain envelope, with cards in toploaders, they understand they can manipulate the rules here and "double dip."
Oh those, only two of the cards were unique to P3K:
Peach Garden Oath
Ambition's Cost
We may "never know" what they're going to reprint... but it seems like they arent going to be reprinting creatures with "real world" flavor any time, or atleast they've sure avoided it in the past ten years.
What is this? I dont even.... still... 40~50 dollar cards =/= equal 150 dollar cards. We just havent seen a reprint of something so expensive.
I remember reading on the wizards of the coast website... a few years back, there wasnt a snowball's chance in hell they'd ever reprint mana drain, btw.

I traded a couple times to canada... it wasnt THAT bad... but still a trade from even california (and I live in WV) usually only took 5 days.
If you feel cheated, it's really only your own fault.
That being said, the sentimental value here is what probably should be important.

Those are beautiful, and you'll get the most money selling them to a collector.

Edit: hell the dark maze of ith is only a $20 card.
