  • posted a message on Best colors in TTP draft?
I'd have to say U/x is the best combination (I like x as green, but red is better). This is because you get the best of all worlds (flyer's, board clearing, removal, card draw etc.) which is what wins drafts. You can't really say one colour is more plentiful in draft as it completely depends on the table. At FNM draft last night there were only 2 people going white but around 6 going red and/or black. So in other words, the white was flowing and I grabbed it all and got a good deck. It's hard to say, but Green is always a good bet for having lots of picks.

  • posted a message on What prizes do you get for draft?
We pay 13$ CAN (So probably more like $11). And the top 4 all get (3$ x #of players)/4. So with 16 players(a usual amount), the top 4 all get 12$. Oh and the top 2 get fnm foils because we do FNM drafts here.

  • posted a message on Top 5 Common Picks in PLC Draft?
Well obviously the rebel searchers can't be compared in quality to pyromancer, seeing as how they both serve entirely different purposes(and pyromancer is just plain better). But the discussion was a tangent from the main topic, that being which rebel searcher is better. Then it was mentioned that someone thought Blightspeaker > pyromancer, which was pointed out to be hard to compare (considering the difference in roles).

In reference to W/B rebels, I prefer blightspeaker.

I'd say without much hesitation the best commons(IMO) in PLC for each colour are:
    White:
    1. Whitemane lion
    2. Sunlance
    3. Aven Riftwacher
    4. Shade of Trokair
    5. Sinew sliver or Saltfield recluse

    Blue:
    1. Shaper Parasite, hands down
    2. Erratic Mutation
    3. Dreamscape artist
    4. Piracy Charm
    5. Aquamorph entity

    Black:
    1. Rathi Trapper
    2. Blightspeaker
    3. Melancholy
    4. Midnight Charm
    5. ~~~~~~

    Red:
    1. Dead//Gone
    2. Stingscourger
    3. Prodigal Pyromancer
    4. Brute Force
    5. Skirk Shaman

    Green:
    1. Citanul Woodreaders
    2. Giant Dustwasp
    3. Mire boa
    4. Utopia Vow
    5. Evolution Charm

At the moment I decided not to go into details, but if anyone wants I can explain pretty easily.

  • posted a message on WB Rebels in TTP Draft
On the topic of WB rebels, I'd like to second that it is a highly viable archetype and have done quite well whenever the cards have sent me that way.
Here's a list from the last time I drafted it:

I went 4-1, only losing to a harsh bout of mana-flood.(Which was still good enough to net me $18).
The agressive starts and continual tempo of the rebel searchers just bring the whole deck together to just win fast and well. (And blightspeakers usually go -quite- late unless someone else is going black rebels).
If the cards come your way, don't hesitate to take them!

For ease of use, I'm using monetary values from a single site for all product.(if you care to know, blackborder). So it's all standardized.

    @Tdawg: 2 of the same....?

So anyways, Heres the idea(I have 9 people from other sources already interested, but the more, the better):
    1) Anyone can join, no matter their skill level at the game of magic: the gathering. The idea here is that people will improve as their deck does likewise.

    2) You will all start with a pre-constructed deck from one of the two newest blocks(Ravnice: city of the guilds and Time Spiral) Or the latest block (9th edition) I haven't decided whether randomly assign them or players choice(please tell me your thoughts in Q&S section)
    These decks are:
    Army of justice(White, 9th)
    Lofty Heights(Blue, 9th)
    Dead again(black, 9th)
    Custom Creatures(Green, 9th)
    World Aflame(Red, 9th)
    Dimir Intrigues(Blue/Black, Ravnica)
    Charge of the Boros(White/red, ravnica)
    Golgari Deathcreep(Black/Green, Ravnica)
    Selesnya United(Green/White, Ravnica)
    Code of the Orzhov(Black/White, Guildpact)
    Gruul Wilding(Green/Red, Guildpact)
    Izzet Gizmometry(Blue/Red, Guildpact)
    Simic mutology(Blue/Green, Dissension)
    Azorius Ascendant(White/Blue, Dissension)
    Rakdos Bloodport(Black/Red, Dissension)
    Fun with Fungus(Black/Green, Timespiral)
    Reality Fracture(Blue/Red, Time Spiral)
    Hope's Crusaders(White, Timespiral)
    Sliver Evolution(White/Red/Green, Time Spiral)

    3) You all start with $0.00(virtual dollars for this league). Winning matches(Best 2/3 games) And winning drafts/tournaments gain you more and more $ which let you buy umopened 'booster packs' or buy single cards to much improve your deck.
As well there will be higher prized tournaments that cost in game $ to enter, but the prizes are much higher.

    4) Any cards gotten from drafts/sealed tournaments will be able to be used in your main deck/to make new decks. As your card pool increases, as does the quality of your deck.

    5) The 'store' will buy some cards from you for half their value if you so desire.

    6) You can trade with any other person in this tournament.

    7) You will have a # rating that raises when you in and lowers when you lose. The person with the highest rating after the tournament will get a choice of cards or REAL-$ sent to them(not much, but its still nice). If I win, the secon place person getsthe prizes.

    8) We will use MWS for playing games and the drafter at ccgdecks.com for drafting. As these events happen, I will explain further.

    9) Good luck!

I have a forum set up, but want to garner the level of interest before I start giving it out. Please PM me or post here if interested!
